The Lost Sierra
Переглядів 3,6 тис.3 місяці тому
With below average snowfall for all of North America there were many sledders having the worst winter ever........however lucky for the Sierra Nevada Mtn Range, we had an average season. For us that means over 400" of snowfall, epic pow days, and bluebird conditions. Not many people realize that The Sierra holds some of the best riding, which is why we call it The Lost Sierra. Here is a glimpse...

Conditions were interesting with some very cold temps and some new snow on top of a crust, however these guys found the...
Trails West 28' RPM Edition Bumper Pull
Переглядів 290Рік тому
We picked up a 28' bumper pull Trails West Trailer from Sundowner Trailers of California two seasons ago and have been using it as a mobil class room for avalanche education. This trailer is awesome, we outfitted it with a TV for presentations, benches for students, and it has a bumping stereo. Being a 28 footer it has plenty of space for 4 sleds, lots of storage compartments, and a bad ass hea...

2023 was one of the biggest winters...... record snowfalls.....colder than average.......storms every 3 days........ towns shut down...... homes caved in....... it was madness........well not really, but it was EPIC!!!!! My good pal Scott Spero and I decided to take advantage of the low elevation snow and deep snowpack to explore a zone we have never ridden. We also caught an epic day of days a...
Sled Access Snowboard Day
Переглядів 303Рік тому
My awesome wife and I got an epic day out on the sleds doing some snowboard laps. With a massive winter hitting tahoe we took advantage of some baby sitting, and a blue bird day! Its always best when you get to find a powder stash with no tracks, and dont see anyone all day. If your wondering what snowboard rack on the snowmobiles we use, Cheetah Factory Racing makes the Linq it up. This rack p...

Storm riding, low angle terrain during considerable avalanche danger
Переглядів 197Рік тому
The sierra is in a storm cycle with considerable Avy danger at all elevations. A wind slab problem, and storm slab problem, so we rode low angle terrain one at a time, spaced out so we could keep eyes on. There was about 100cm of new snow on top of the old snow layers. Total height of snow we measured 450cm at 8,000 feet. We found sudden results in a few compression tests, but no propagation on...

Toms Emotion Skid and Fox suspension
Quit advertising "The Lost Sierra". Those who live here don't want your jerk tourists.
FYI the Lost Sierra is an actual location in Plumas County CA. You should rename your video. You aren't riding in the actual lost sierra
but if we showed the exact location then it wouldn't be lost any more.....
How much weight did the fox shocks and Tom’s kit save over stock on the freeride?
I’m not sure…. Tom’s would know tho!
I put Tom‘s kit on my freeride 850 and total weight savings is about 4 pounds but the ski weight savings on deadweight was more. Tom explains it better than I could ever try to. he’s more than willing to tell you just give him a call. One of the best suspension guys in the business IMO
Was this your main sled? Or do you have a 154 top?
I also have a 154, but only rode it 300 miles this past season, and put over 1,700 on yge 146!
@@Letsrideadventures nice! I’m pumped to be on 146 turbo this season! I think it will fit my riding!
You were on a pretty good trajectory until the ggb can went on it.... great info on the brake lever though!
Bye the way….that sled is going to be ROWDY!!!! 🤘💪😤
Who makes that sick ass brake lever! That think is 💰
Outerimpact
That thing looks so dope. I love the color way.
Did you setup your 24 Freeride with the Toms torsion delete and floats? If so did you like it over the KYB 40s? How weight did it save front and rear?
yes, Ive been running the toms suspension kit since 2013. I have never done a weight comparison, but I like the fox air shocks and their adjustability much better than the KYB's
Awesome video. Sick jumps! Man that was great! Good job.
@@Rickydbaby thanks Rick!
Sick video need more of this 🤘
Great riding and video!
Wish I was sledding right now
Hellz yeah! Let's Ride 🤙
YEW!
Нормально , молодцы , g 5 хороший снегоход , привет из России мы катаем на g 5
What carbides did you put on?
Do you need to be in a heated garage when installing?
Awesome video, lots of great information. Edit flowed nicely, and really killer sends. Good work!
Just need to get that trailer set up for camping and then you wouldn't have to worry about lodging.
Looks Fun. Keep it coming !!!!
Rad!
Nice work boys 🙌
Does your tank have the textured plastic? Curious to how the wrap will hold up on it
For a beginner/ average idaho mountain rider what track langth do you recommend, 154 or 165? Riding a 154 arctic cat m8000 mountain cat right now, seems real hard to rider, but i think most of that is due to the mono rail.
way to go with post vid discussion regarding avy potential. Keeping it fresh in the fore front of everyone's mind is key. how long did your wrap take you? haven't done my g5 yet but thinking about it.
Fun time!
dayum that looks fun, how would you go about getting into it without breaking the bank
Thank you.
Uploaded only in 720P 🤦♂️
I miss seeing your longer footage videos! Start making some good videos and show us all that sierra snow you guys have been getting
Thank you, enjoy the new year.
Deng
sweet vid! wish i was with u! snow looked awesome
Great video
Thank you very much.
When the music stops and then Kris comes flying out of the trees and the music starts playing again 😂.
That turbo just did not want to get stuck! 😜
So cool!
The boys straight sending 🤘
Love the idea about the avalanche training. I’ve lost two very close friends the last few years in slides. It want because they aren’t good riders or aren’t careful, it’s because it can happen to anyone no matter your riding ability. Since we have all gone through our avalanche certifications and have so much more confidence on the mountain now and just as a backcountry rider in general. They tech you some many great things about reading terrain and snow conditions along with of course the rescue portion. I find myself analyzing the conditions and terrain constantly now. Great idea. In addition, we will have a adjustable temp, headed, carbon fiber composite brake lever soon so watch for that. Thanks for sharing!
Sick Duncan! I want to try a Gen5 so bad.
What a rad ride. I’m a flat lander that enjoys playing in the deep stuff, but I always chicken out at a chance out west because the difference of what I think I can do vs what I’ll likely do are so far apart 🤣
Man I've been riding polaris my whole life and I'm undecided after the sht show that's going on with them "waiting on my 23 boost"
I switched to Poo and might go back if things don't change significantly soon.
great video!
Did they remove t motion and flex edge or is that just an option?
only on the expert package
So I'm a Polaris guy and was mocking the SHIT out of the Gen5 when they came out. And while I still feel the headlights are a little goofy looking, I have to admit that the engineering behind the Gen5 is pretty damn impressive. I still don't care for the brake and chain case being down by your feet, and the belt storage behind the seat is a little weird, but that sled is DAMN impressive and I'm srsly questioning their claim of "180 hp." It looks more like 190+ lol
Saw a gen5 summit at the dealer the other day. I was expecting it to be as terrible as the pictures. In person it actually looks decent. Was quite surprised by that as well as how narrow it is. Looks like it will be super easy to ride in tight areas.
No Skinz heated brake lever?? Peasants….
Isn't Skinz closing shop??
@@208SledHead no they are fully running again… not sure what the deal was this last summer when the posted that they were no longer going to make sled parts…
TKI is making a Heated one now but it’s not adjustable…
Yeah manufacturers should definitely put something to aid you in finding avalanche information. Very good point
480 mains , it’s cold here , -20F , let’s ride , wind chill only gets to -49 than slows down , railroad grade , maybe , 25 /37 gearing the year , would like the extra 8 mph , and maybe a half gallon a mile better mpg
