Love that song so true
Love it from pourtugal south Nfld
I will always love our old Newfoundland songs especially this one 🙏❤️😥
In 1966 I worked on the fairtry 2 on the Grand Banks and I’m sorry to say we were just one of four hundred boats that plundered the Canadian cod stocks our skipper got paid on the wet ton crew got paid on processed ton our skipper hauled six hundred baskets of immature cod and sent them down the hacker for fish meal and the asshole put the net back in the water for another six hundred baskets to be hacked for fish meal I could not tell you how many fish we destroyed but there were more boats around us doing the same now a lot of the blame for the collapse of this fishery which was hundreds of years old was destroyed by our greed and Canadian government stupidity they knew what was going on and did nothing about it I had no say in the matter but I was sixteen and dumb as I might have been I saw the writing on the wall I am ashamed to have been part of that gang bang
Still love it! Will sing it this week at an open mike to commemorate the anniversary of the moratorium!
to bad it's come to this. thank you.
to late. memories all we have. the roads and resettlement ruined a way of life.

Rest In Peace Wayne 🕊

Great job Wayne ..from your Grade 9 French Teacher.
They scream on me for killing the seals; they begrudge my child food then, for where the soil is thin the blood is thick'. But that they will never understand, until they have lived in the cove' like me. But the Greenpeace ships keep sailing, screaming about the slaughter. And I'e bye's I'e I kill the seal's but I do not wear their coats. So go see your rich and famous ---- and leave the Newfoundland men alone, so he can feed the wife and babe's at home!!!!
Can't waite for the borders to open again, I'm into van life now and would like to do the Rock over the summer, and get another Blue Star beer.

Hi Cheryl and Wayne! Patti and Bruce here, just had to check out your video. I thought you only saw one whale breaching. Holy smokes, you saw a whole show!!! We were thrilled to see a few whale tails waving. Hope the rest of your summer in Quirpon is as great as it was when we were with you a few days ago. :)
I haven't heard Wayne Bartlett sing since I was a little girl. One song really sticks in my head and I haven't been able to find it anywhere. It's the St. Anthony Waltz by Wayne Bartlett. If you could post this song for me I would be much appreciative.
Excellent.

It's exactly what's in this song .....What WE didn't destroy WE left to die......So who should take the blame for the decline in the fishery ........just take a stab at it in the dark and see what you can come up with

Great Song Frank. She's Gone,Boys,She's Gone.
love it it is a beautiful place
this time we need to be "proactive" with the fishery and learn by the political mistakes and the "trade" of managements (plus our own carelessness) with OUR NEWFOUNDLAND FISHERY... that was the reason we (newfies) came here in the first place,it was because of cod fish.>>>> (Im Proud to be a Newfoundlander) lovely and true descriptive lyrics excellent job here by Wayne Bartlett...100-100
I met this gentlemen a couple of years ago.. and i'll never forget it! He signed an autograph for me and he sang too! Even tho he had sang all night at a gig...he was more then happy to sing for me. Thank you for uploading this,it brings back a lot of good memories.
