This was SUPER HEPFUL!! Thank you!!

Thank you everyone- super helpful 🫡🙏
Thank you for watching!
What is the EMATT Flag please?
Sounds like a reference to Lyssa DeHart's prep course, ACCAT: academy.lyssadehart.com/course/icf-credentialing-exam-prep
I did a ton of study and investments. I got a 440 so I failed. I am so bummed. But I am going to try again. Any advise.
Don't get discouraged, not everyone passes on the first try. Now that you've had exposure to the test, think about what was helpful to prep, and what didn't support. We just released another video on the credentialing exam. You can do this! 💪
Excellent information! Thank you so much for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!

Thank you for the video. Actually, the best answer for question 9 is a different one - according to the ICF site. But I found it helpful to hear your thought process and strategy to answer the questions.
Yes, I endorse it, and it is very useful. You are right about question 9. Inviting a break is not the best answer.
Hi. Where can I find the acronym TRAP that was connected to ACCAT (I think). I found ACCAT on a youtube video from Lyssa DeHart. Anyone know if there is a video with the terms in TRAP?
What I have been able to find is: T = tell/teach, R = remind/recommend, A = advice/lead, P = praise/judge, S = no secrets (not sure if this is exact as is taught by Lyssa but this is what someone shared with me who took her course.
Getting the worst option has been challenging- and nuanced. It would be nice to get help with the right 'worst' answer. Some of the worst answers are conflicting: e.g. • A coach is working with a client who is an experienced marathon runner writing a book on training for endurance races. This is a long-held dream for the client. The coach notices that the client often uses running metaphors when talking about their challenges and progress in their writing. The client is typically upbeat and energetic, but they arrive at today’s session appearing tired and discouraged. They share with the coach that they have recently “hit a wall” in writing, with three chapters remaining. When they sit down to write, the client says they can barely come up with anything, and nothing that is worth publishing. The client says they are afraid they won’t be able to complete the book on time and that all of their work toward this goal will be lost. What should the coach do? What is the BEST action? : A. Ignore what the client said about that teammate and continue coaching their on people development B. Bring up the coach's past experience with team conflicts and what they have done to overcome them C. Propose to coach the client on managing difficult conversations in another session D. Ask the client for the link between their people development strategy and the difficulties with this teammate. If the client said there was no link, then the coach can remind the client to focus on the most important goal for her Best answer is : (D) - Ask the client if there was a time when they were running a marathon and felt like they couldn’t finish. Invite the client to share how they handled that challenge in the race. (Going into the past) Whereas in this situation • A coach is coaching a client on leading teams. For a session, the client and the coach set the goal to be coming up with new strategies for people development. However, when the coach asked about what had worked so far for the client when leading this team, they switched to describing in details the difficulties they had with one teammate. What is the WORST action? A. If the client said there was no link, then the coach can remind the client to focus on the most important goal for her The worst answer is (B) : Bring up the coach's past experience with team conflicts and what they have done to overcome them If you compare the 2 : both has the coach inviting the client to go into the pas and look for learnings 🙃
The acronyms Miki shared were from Lyssa Dehart's course.
CAN you Pls advice What traps stands for
Acronyms shared by coaches are likely from Lyssa Dehart's course though app.solutionsacademy.com/ also has prep courses. If you are referencing an acronym shared by a specific coach let us know and we can reach out to them directly.
@@hawthorneunion yes Rafael Bracero mentioned TRAPS. What does it stand for?
I am still confused about should we measure the success and quality of the sessions with stakeholders or sponsor too? And regarding the changing the sessions topic can be with sponsor or stakeholders? What would be the best possible actions
@parisaally while the input of stakeholders and the sponsors is important in coaching engagements, your focus in the sessions themselves have to be coaching the client, which is the person being coached. In the version of the exam I completed, sponsors and stakeholders were distractions from the agreement established with the client. Refer to the ICF Core Competencies and the ICF Ethics for additional detail. The ICF is coming out with a new version of the assessment with a tutorial available Aug 20, 2024. If you have not already completed the exam, we recommend you check out the tutorial once it is available. Let us know if you have ongoing questions we can support you with via email and we can set up a time to discuss.
@@hawthorneunion will the tutorial be on the ICF website?
This is very helpful, I'm not a good test taker so I will probably do the deHart training course. It helps that everyone had a similar yet different experience - approach
Best of luck!

Terrific tips, love your style. Thank you for creating!
Glad you like them!
Patty mentioned doing Lista Toart’s workshop, could you share their information. I can seem to find anything on them by googling. Thanks
Hi Frances, you can find out more about Lyssa DeHart's offerings over here: academy.lyssadehart.com/course/icf-credentialing-exam-prep
Thank you ❤
thanks for sharing this great video, am going to sit for the exam very soon and this video is helping a lot. Rafael mentioned in about minute 6 advising to do practice tests, where can we find them other than the 8 questions given on ICF page
Best of luck! You can check out Quizlet: quizlet.com/ca/712875580/icf-credentialing-exam-sample-questions-flash-cards/ or quizlet.com/ca/870329638/icf-credentialing-exam-prep-flash-cards/ The other ones that Rafael mentioned are paid products.
Try Solution Academy for a longer sample exam
Lovely video! Blessings of gratitude! 👏
Thank you so much!
This is quite a helpful video, however, I think using the term “CKA” is really confusing and misleading. The exam is called “ICF Credentialing Exam;” there is no more CKA.
Glad you found the video helpful. You are correct that the new version and format of the test is called the ICF Credentialing exam. We certainly don't want to mislead, we were just using the term to reference what our panel was familiar with.
Congrats Drew!! Thank you for the info!
Thanks for watching :) We've got a fresh recording of a CKA panel we'll be uploading today from other recent people who have passed.
I'm going through a PCC training and this has been very helpful...I like how you give room for flexibility vs rigidity in the questions we ask.
Glad it was helpful!
Wow! This video was extremely valuable. I think the examples are what so many coaches are looking for. You didn’t just read the PCC markers. thank you.
You're welcome 👋
I passed my PCC exam today. Like a said your video is amazing!
It is very detailed. I listening a to a lot of these videos/ webinars and find them often to be very contradicting and mostly tailored to personal preferences of the individual mentor. That makes it difficult for new coaches to see a clear concept.
It can certainly be challenging as there multiple coaching styles, the same with mentors. Some of our coaches are also PCC assessors for the ICF. Any specific concept we can clarify for you?
Very well done 👏
Thanks for watching :)
To be clear, this is the CKA exam, not the newer Credentialing Exam introduced in Aug 2022 with Best and Worst answers to a question.
Correct, at the time of this video Drew took the CKA. The Credentialing Exam, which was released this year (June 2023) is what replaced the CKA. Per the ICF, there are new worded questions and the best/worst format, but the content is very much similar.

Congratulations Drew! Was your test the new format where you had to give best and worst answers?
Yes, as I recall it was
Thanks Drew! This was helpful and congratulations. I am taking it July 8th so I hope to have the same positve outcome the first time. :)
Good luck! How'd it go?
Unfortunately I didn’t pass 😢. Have to retake
Hope the re-take went well!
Shrewd management
It's not a tool for every company, but some do need a framework to start thinking big picture.
Great, thank you, very helpful
Glad it was helpful!
Congratulations
Thank you!
Would love more videos like this one. So clear and easy to follow.
Glad to hear you enjoyed, we're planning some more like this soon!
Drew, thank you so much for the video. Very helpful! And congratulations with achieving your PCC status )
Glad it was helpful and thank you!
Extremely valuable. Thank you for the examples and for breaking down each maker in a relatable manner.
Glad it was helpful!
This is very helpful for me. I failed my first application for ACC and in my case, the feedback was very clear and helpful. I will be applying for PCC by the end of this year and hearing this conversation lowers stress as I prepare. All that you are saying-mentor feedback and client feedback as I’ve approached 500 hours has been positive. But I know that I am committed to be a life-long learner. I can always learn and grow.
Glad it helped!
Super useful, thanks so much Diana! This video sets things out so clearly.
Glad it was helpful!
This is such an outstanding video. Thanks for the wonderful insights and as always, straight talk, on elevating coaching technique and protocol.
Appreciate the comment Jaymie!
