The tug boat is the "stand on vesse"l by international rules because it is restricted in the "ability ot maneuver" The Sail boat is the "give way vessel" and must yield. The skipper of the sail boat needs a boating course!

I was tacking against the waves, and need much more speed.

The main looks terrible. Get rid of the boom lift/topping lift. You almost knocked yourself out on that jibe. If your going to tack, do it! Don't mess around! But it all worked out I guess :)

Okay so sailboat is navigating on a collision course with the tug and has to dodge small paddle boats and jet skis where one person is in the water. There was plenty of time to change course before all those boats converged. You do not need to sail so close to those people regardless of right of way

Can happen, when you tack against the waves. You need much more speed.!!

Wrong place, but also paddling against the wind and in the direction of the ship, must paddle in the same wind direction to be faster, and in the opposite direction.

It's impressive the sheer scale of that thing! I'm also curious about how you have your main reef line set up? Does it go inside the boom until the mast? So far I only sail with good weather, so I don't have experience doing it, but would like to learn how to rig this one as I want to leave my 1st reef instelled in case I need it.

Have you tried racing her? We've got a Capri 22 in our fleet and my C25 has a hard time keeping up. She's in my vids, normally ahead of me. lol Quick boats!

Yes trim the jib sheets from the high side (windward side)

For Auto tack 1) the Jib is about 70% out 2) the loaded jib sheet is always the one at windward side. Contrary to the regular tacking. 3) the jib sheet should be long enough to allow the jib to change to the other side. See the video again and verify my comments. Good luck 🙏🏻

How are you getting your jib to self tach and come across? Can you describe how the jib sheets are rigged/led? TIA

It looks like you have your jib sheets led across to the opposite sides. If so, is this to allow you to trim your jib from the high side? If I'm reading your rigging correctly I like the concept. Have been preparing to start doing some solo sailing on a Catalina 27 and the ability to have the jib winch more accessible from the tiller without reaching across would be handy. Do you find it effects jib or main sail shape when rigged as described. TIA and nice sailing.
