Perfect Your Set-up for Better Chipping
Hi Matt, I've been taking this to the practice range, and found an immediate improvement in consistency for forward-shaft lean shots. I don't quite have a feel for the other side of the spectrum, though, with neutral to backwards shaft lean to the other side of the belt buckle, as it feels as though my lead wrist flexes in an odd way and its hard to maintain weight balance. In particular, I've been trying to master backwards shaft lean for shot type number 2 on this Mark Blackburn video: ua-cam.com/video/S1bZS8rynHM/v-deo.htmlsi=fmZ-8RpNbPwF6lVZ I'm also trying to reconcile with Phil Mickelson's technique of maintaining forward shaft lean throughout: ua-cam.com/video/dpFd1xocxrE/v-deo.htmlsi=GtfEZE5aVBHU1_TL Thoughts?
Great video, what net is that?
*PromoSM* 😜
What does that mean?
Great video. Who makes the net with return?
Thank you. Ellermont makes the net, www.amazon.com/dp/B0C6CYNH1G
Hi Matt, Just saw your email about 3D Practice, which reminded me to catch up with your videos. I liked your 2 Step Bunker play lesson and will practice it. Rick C.
Awesome, thank you!
This guy is an old man in a young man’s body.
Even though I am sure it is meant as a slight. I will take that as a compliment. Thank you for watching.
Get a launch monitor. I use a swing caddie and it's great. It has distance, smash, spin, launch angle, ball speed and club speed. It does not indicate draws hooks slices etc. I like the flash card idea.
If a person would have the means to do so, yes monitor is the way to go. FlightScope Mevo provides a great home option for most at home practice and comes in a t a feasible price point compared to the larger units.
Thank you, informative and helpful for someone like me, high handicap. Beginning to understand how to use bounce
So glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching!
Great tips. My brother hit into a net daily one winter and the next season it was clear how much more solid and committed his strikes were. He also developed a lot of power. This was before launch monitors so he still had to figure out where it was going but overall it was still beneficial practice.
This is gold! I have my first lesson with you Tuesday. Really looking forward to it.
Sorry can't hear a word you're saying unless I turn volume to max
Yes, Apologies. Microphone issues, video will be taken down soon.
@@matthendersongolf oh it's okay! I can hear when I turned it up loud...I also didnt check if u have newer videos since this one is 2 years old...not your fault...I've been having such bad slicing issues with the more golf I play so I'm trying to find anything that could help. 2 months ago I was driving the ball straight as an arrow and now every single drive is slicing wicked right. I'm so embarrassed!!!! Lol
I use my pratice net daily with my Garmin S80 launch monitor. This help a lot....
Matt great job clearly explaining detail wedge play which is critical to scoring well . Thanks
Thank you! Let me know if you have questions
Thanks Matt, great video. Any tips on which net to buy, and what size?
I don't know much about them. The net used there is a Callaway Net, 8' in height. It works great, I am not sure I would want one shorter than that. www.rockbottomgolf.com/accessories/training-aids/nets-mats/callaway-golf-8-base-hitting-net/?CALBASENE8111111111101&Callaway%20Golf&msclkid=ee04c0a140ee150a6ef09e6eeaec04f4
This doesn't look like the one in the video?
Hi Matt, I’ve been struggling with “consistent” solid ball contact as well as major power losses in swing speed. I happened to be talking with a friend of mine who is one of your current students and he gave me a link to your videos. This video has helped me more than any lesson / tip / video combined! After watching this video, I followed your routine on the range as well as taking your advice on minimizing knee bend - “IT” clicked right away, and the results were absolutely amazing! Over the past 4 years, I’ve struggled to get my driver speed over 96 mph, as well as fighting a hard push to the right - (I’m 57 years old and was thinking old age was catching up with me). Using your sequence and posturing tips, I immediately started smashing my driver. I hit 10 drives in a row at or over 104 mph with two at 108. My iron practice was just as amazing with my 6 iron carrying just over 180 yards. I can’t thank you enough for posting this video, I’m going to share it with all my buddies!
Mark, Amazing to hear!!! Glad it made such a difference, keep on enjoying the game 👍
Thanks, Matt -- a very interesting look at the analysis and thought process for course management.
Hi Matt, Great video, thanks for posting. Shows how much work really goes into playing at a competitive level. Some of those 1 & 2 areas off the green may become 2 & 3's for the higher handicap player. Cheers!
Redo the audible, it can't be heard but the technique looks promising.
good job, for me I think the lead wrist mostly controls the club face, I'm promoting my channel, make sure to subscribe, thanks
