Both are equal length. You can change the sound by having different lengths

I love your bells. I have a CO2 tank and would like to make a bell with a couple tones to it. My question is are both of your cuts equal length or are they different? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I like how you found the low sound of a big bell in a much smaller one, easier to hang on a porch.

Have you ever done horizontal cuts? I saw one video on it and it made a wicked sound. Think I'm gonna try it. It's so hard for me to find tanks though.

I cast aluminum farm bells and they sound pretty good. If the aluminum cylinders were made of cast aluminum, or zinc mix , they would ring much better. Cast aluminum is more brittle because of the carbon added to the aluminum...

Sounds like you have a metal banger inside the tank. I have seen some design that use a rubber hockey puck for a softer thud shroud when used as a front door bell and not a wind chime. Cheers, #SeattleRingHunter
