Comparison of Lone Wolf Alpha & Assault, Novix Helo, & LWCG .75 treestands, & Sidekick bow holder.
In this video I share my views and comparisons of several treestands including the Lone Wolf Alpha, Lone Wolf Assault, Novix Helo, and the Lone Wolf Custom Gear (LWCG) .75 treestands. Towards the end of the video, I also demonstrate the functionality of the LWCG Sidekick bow holder I added to my new .75 stand. The Sidekick's functionality is a true winner and surpassed my expectations.

Great video, thank you!
I'm a 230lb guy 5'5 was wonder if the .75 will suit me. Otherwise the 1.0 is my best option bigger platform
I would say it comes down to your personal comfort level in a stand. I think the size of the .75 stand would suit you fine as the platform is the same length but just a bit narrower than the 1.0. I find the platform size on the .75 to be the perfect size. It is roomy enough, fits well in tighter spots, and it is lightweight. I don't think you would be disappointed with the .75.
@borivers9514 does it work with bigger boots size 10-11 Or the tip of the toe sticking out?
I think you will be fine with that boot length.
I'm 5'8" and based on your video, the Lone Wolf. 5 simply wouldn't work at all. Beautiful .75 though, but I'm going to have save up for that one!
Interested how you retrofitted the blower
The snowblower is made by RAD and came with a sub frame specifically designed with brackets to mount to the Great Dane Chariot mower.
@@borivers9514 do you have a link? I’d love to get mine functional before the snow flies
@@JayGeeJay I don't have a link. I bought it over 20 years ago and the dealer I bought it from is not in business anymore. I believe the RAD company is out of Canada.
@@borivers9514 ok great! I was looking for the link to the blower and mount. I have the Chariot. I’ll do some digging. Thanks again!

Good information. What length seat post were you using on the .75?
It is the standard seat height of 20"
@@borivers9514 , thank you.
Good information thanks for sharing.... Question , what brand are your shoulder straps, and where did you buy them? Thanks in advance for your anwser .
Bo, have you compared the .75 to the 1.0 ? Also your thoughts after hunting with it last season? Thanks
Wonderfull
Appreciate the review - and glad to see that you're still using a Switchback XT...I have two of them and still use them exclusively!
wasted all that money ya should have just bought a beast stand!!!!
Have 3 of the 4. Not the lw cust gear...too expensive. Like all my lw and novix. Thx for your review!
Nice review! TY. Just noticed when u strapped on stand, strap was twisted. That can be dangerous etc. Good hunting.
Nice vid! thanks for sharing.
I have the assault, or maybe the assault 2? It’s the shorter platform. Only 11 lbs. It’s solid on the tree but I like to stretch my legs more than this stand allows. Still a great stand though. Super quiet too.
Great review Bo, I really appreciate you taking the time to do side-by-side comparisons! As far as the bow holder goes, I've been using a cheap holder similar to the Lone Wolf one in your video and I've never had an issue with it and it works like a champ! Thanks again Bo!
Do you feel the LWCG bite the tree better than the originals?
Have you ever tried saddle hunting?
Have thought about it and can see certain advantages to saddle hunting but just haven't tried it.
Great review. Explained everything very thoroughly.
Please keep full length videos in landscape mode
I applaud your LWCG selection but I only wish my LW Assault 2 was two pounds lighter than my Novix Echo. The difference is actually only a pound or maybe even less, despite the difference in size. Thankfully my bow works just fine in my Assault 2 bow holder, though, so that’s one less thing to worry about and carry.
If you ever want to sell those og lone wolf sticks please let me know thanks
Well done video! I ordered mine 3 weeks ago, still eagerly awaiting its arrival.
Is that the same strap that comes with the Lonewolf sticks and you just remove the buckle?
No. LWCG has longer cam straps you can get from them that come without the buckle and also with a bungie cord at the end of the strap. Very nice and functional.
Great review. I have been using the Lonewolf assault for about 5 years. I am thinking about adding another stand. I am a big guy, 6’2” 250 pounds. The assault has been pretty good for me. I am leaning toward the LWCG stand.
Do you feel that the 75 is that much of an upgrade over the assault and worth the extra money?
Obviously a personal choice to upgrade, and a decision I thought about. I got my .75 for about $450.00 due to an exchange for the 1.0 I bought many months previous and took a long time to get. LWCG honored the exchange. Now, though, the .75 is at $600.00. If you are constantly hiking in the stand longer distances and setting it up often, I would say it could justify the cost as there is a 3 pound weight difference and the climbing sticks integrate with the stand as system. The .75 is nicer to hang due to it being lighter. Once hung in the tree, though, there is really not difference in overall comfort. That said, I would gladly trade every older stand I have for the .75 as I do like it that much. Good luck with your decision!
Sweet stand. More interested in the bow holder. Your bow limb is waaaaaay skinnier than mine. PSE and Bowtech have wiiiide limbs. Not sure if it'll work.
The newer Sidekicks have longer support arms/wings to accommodate the newer bows. I can't imagine it wouldn't work well for your wide-limbed bow. I think it would actually work even better with a wider limbed bow as there would be more bow limb surface area to contact the Sidekick arms.
Great video with great info. I’m wanting to get the Helo never had a hang on but I know if it’s compatible to Lone Wolf it’s worth every cent!
Will the sidekick fit on the Novix helo and older LW platforms?
I don't know how well the Sidekick would on those stands as they don't have a hole in the edge of the platform to mount it to.
Third hand archery makes one that should work pretty universally
Thanks for the video, very well done!
I was initially looking at the 5, but glad I waited. The .75 looks like the perfect fit for me. Especially now with seat size and seat height choices they offer. Time to order one! Thanks again for taking time to do the video.
@@stevesnyder7804 Sounds good and thanks. I think you will really like the .75. I really think the size and shape of the .75 is perfect.
I have had my .75 for about a month I love it glad I didn’t go with the .5
Is your snow blower still working? I have a Great Dane Chariot and like your set-up. Is the PTO hydraulically driven - or how is it driven? Did you custom build the drive or is the drive arrangement factory?
The snowblower still works great over 20 years later. The snowblower is belt driven from the machine. The driver arrangement is all factory.
@@borivers9514do you have a link to the parts you used?
@@JayGeeJay I don't have any links to the parts. The snowblower and subframe mount for the snowblower are RAD brand, and the subframe was specifically made to fit onto the Great Dane Chariot. The cab is a walk behind snowblower cab which I retrofitted to fit onto the Great Dane Chariot.
@@borivers9514 not sure I have heard of a RAD brand. Is it a complete kit for the Chariot models? Mine is a 61
@@JayGeeJay RAD is out of Canada. Not sure what products they still make. The subframe kit I received had included adapter plates specifically for the Chariot 61. I purchased and have been using the snowblower unit since 2002.

Cool!
I can’t stop watching these videos! What a beast machine. I need one for my Great Dane
I’d love to get info on blower and kit numbers for my Chariot. Looks like a fun summer project
Where can I get the snowblower for me zero turn mower? Arians ikon. Please I can’t find anything
I bought it at Ramer Small Engine in Hayward, WI about 20 years ago. I am not sure if they still sell the model I have or a model that would work for your Arians Ikon. It might be worth contacting them, though. Good luck.
Where can I get the cab 🚕?
I purchased the cab at the Blain's Farm and Fleet in WI. The brand of the cab I have is "Classic Accessories". I am not sure which model it is for sure, though.
That cab is super clever! Works great. low cost, easy to put on and off.
Hell ya. I'm about to buy a Ariens Ikon zero turn. I def wanna put either a plow or blower on it for winter. Is the blower and cab universal? Where did you get them? Thx.
The blower is a RAD brand that came with custom brackets to fit the Great Dane mower. The cab is a walk-behind snowblower cab I purchased from a local farm surplus store, and I then just mounted it with a couple clamps so it would flip out of the way.
@@borivers9514 Sweet. That cab is a fantastic idea. I'll look into it. I have plenty of time. We just purchased 4 acres to build a new log home.. and I'm looking at zero turns now. I'm pretty sure I'm going with the new Ariens Ikon mower. Thx again.
@@randomstuffwithjoe That Ariens should be a nice mower. Hopefully you can find a snowblower option that will work for it. My mower and snowblower attachment is 20 years old and still going strong.
nice i did the same thing with a chariot but gave up on it cause it could only go in straight lines
Hey Bo,I enjoyed your videos.
Awesome! Love the power of the skandics... What year is it, 2000 or so with 2 stroke 500 engine? In low gear I assume..?
It is a 1998 Skandic Super Wide Track w/500cc engine. Yes in low range. Amazing pulling power in low range. As long as you can get traction it will pull the load.
That's it?
