What is a candy bar heiress and a catalog magnate doing working at a local TV station?
0:30 the things you didn't get as a child, but understand as an adult.
Scorch was lost among CBS' airing of NCAA March Madness that year.
It kinda reminds me of the TV show Alf. I'm definitely going to be looking for it now. Lol. ❤️
this was my favorite show that no one remembers! so happy to find this
Have you watched all six episodes?
"Now get out." LMAOXD
Hey, Irma from TMNT (1987) ended up working at Scorch's station!
I never realised Scorch was lying! Nero died 600 years before Scorch was born. Fiddles didn't even exist until 1500 years after Nero. Scorch was even lying about his childhood nursery rhyme, because he doesn't wear any pants!
The theme song is an earworm. Its been stuck in my head since this premiered.
This show is great I’m glad I found this! Thank you for uploading these videos!
Polly want a coffin? 😂
I saw this show when it came out in Germany 1994 when I was 11 years old. Back then I liked it very much, because... well, it had a dragon in it. Now I can kinda see why it only ran for six episodes.
You saw all 6 episodes?
This is the weirdest shit I've ever seen and the random drunk driving PSA is the cherry on top. Annnnd the novelty has worn off.
I was a big ALF fan back in the day this show beats ALF hands down!
"Paulie want a coffin" I'm not laughing!
Scorch missed the 1980s, a great decade.
wish i could find the 3 unaired episodes.
What if ALF had met Scorch as neighbors... O M G.......
Good episode
I KNEW I didn't dream this show!! Thank you for uploading this!
The Jeff Dunham of his time
I never saw this before thanks for sharing 😊
I never knew this exists. Thanks for sharing. :)
I REMEMBER THIS!
YouknowwhatImean?
HEH HEH THAT’S PFG TO ME
I know it don't work that way, but instead of Scorch why not PUFF THE MAGIC DRAGON LOL
This is very well written.
Loved this show my childhood hero!
I wish they'd put this show (complete with the 3 unaired episodes) on DVD, so those who loved it can have it.
This show is adorable, I wish I had found out about it sooner, I would have loved it as a kid.
It's a shame, or, I should say, a crime that this show didn't last long. It was very funny and, well, it just should have lasted longer.
I can't found DVD's of it, really sad
I thought Scorch was voiced by Ronn Lucas!
It is
Oh my god I remember this!
I know this was published 7 years ago now, but I am so glad I found it. I have been looking for the theme song to this show for years! I had almost reached a point where I thought I had imagined this show.
This is so endearing!
i got here after watching One good cop (1991) and went through the imdb profile of Rhea Silver-Smith, the angel kid who played Jessica on Scorch. Yes, Scorch is really funny, wonder why it got cancelled.
This show was too cute
Randomly thought of this show last night. I vaguely remembered it from when I was a kid. I couldn't remember the name though lol I literally googled dragon puppet sitcom!
After almost 30 years, I still can’t make it through an episode.
And people say TV never tries anything different.
Although Friday nights during the '91-92 season belonged to ABC and the TGIF lineup dominated that night, CBS tried and failed to go up against it with their own family programming with both Scorch and Fish Police. Both series were lost in the shadow of Urkel. Unfortunately, there weren't many other nights this would've stood out. Mondays belonged to Will Smith's Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Tuesday was dominated by ABC with what might as well have been TGIF Part 2, Home Improvement, Coach, Full House, Roseanne would've thrashed Scorch in the ratings. Wednesday also belonged to ABC when they aired Wonder Years, Doogie Howser, and Young Indiana Jones. Thursday night belonged to NBC with their Must-See lineup of Cosby Show, Different World, Cheers, and Wings. Fox also had a piece of Thursday night success with The Simpsons. Saturday nights were also a no go for Scorch because of Who's the Boss, Growing Pains, and Perfect Strangers. CBS could've made this work if they had a Sunday night slot available. But, it already had 60 Minutes and Murder, She Wrote on Sundays and weren't about to mess with that successful formula. Scorch was just doomed by bad timing.
This series failed because it was up against Family Matters. It's as if CBS just wanted to throw the thing away because they had no confidence in it. If it had gotten a better time slot and were moved off of Friday (because going against TGIF was just suicide), this might've been an ALF style hit.
i guess people thought it was a rip off of ALF and weren't interested
This dragon should've been as popular as ALF.
He “should” have been but the problem was when this came out everyone was sick of ALF.
Never heard of this show before. This was in prime time?
I love john o'hurley
I'm surprised that this thing even lasted 3 episodes. I guess for a children's show it might be acceptable.
I taped these shows in 1991 along with Fish Police. I asked CBS if there was any way to get ahold of the unaired episodes. I try every year or so. I never get a response. Maybe a petition would do, but I have never met one person outside my nuclear family who has seen this show. I doubt you'd get 100 people. Still thinking about trying.
I loved this show when it came out. Wish i could see the 3 unaired episodes. At the time this show came out i was doing puppet design. I was just getting into rubber laytex casting and was getting good results. I made a complete copy of scorch. Soon after i made him, they took the latex adhesive paints off the market and replaced them with junk. The paints contained benzene, and was very toxic. Wish i could get the good stuff. I still have my original copy, Would love to remake him.
you got pics hosted anywhere? Love to see that
I watched it with my grandma when I was like 8
I have seen this show! I was 10 when this show came out and I often wondered how it ended. This was a very strange moment in television. A lot of the offerings were sort of kid friendly more like cartoons or something that everybody could enjoy. I even remember “tequila and Benetti“ being interesting to me as a 10-year-old. There was some other show, but I cannot for the life of me remember the name of it. It was about a Group of-I guess they were superheroes-who fought crime on various alien planets. I distinctly remember a cyborg named doc, and an alien prince named gore-don. Probably don’t have the spellings right but Braille is my first written language so… There you go. I hope somebody can tell me what I am remembering. It is really tormenting me.
It's a bummer that this show never took off. I saw on Wikipedia that this show has 3 episodes that did not air. I hope someday NBC releases the 3 episodes along with other sitcoms that did not last such as this one.
Actually the studio that could make this happen would be Warner Archive. They own the rights to this property.
@@PJVids83 Plus, the show was on CBS.
Still remember that theme word-for -word.
