If the rear wheel arch & fame spine isn’t ready to collapse in a heap of rust .This could be game for a full nut & bolt tart up & engine overhaul 👍

I owned a brand new green & white C 50 in 1972 & I bought a used yellow & white c7O M reg in 1975 mint & very low mileage ..Both bikes were very reliable & only broke down for the odd puncture .I got 45 mph clock on straight flat & 53 mph down long slight gradient on a good day once fully warmed up on longish run ..The C 70 had an extra front light ,a side stand ,ignition barrel light on side panel & better seat than the 50 or 90 . The C70 picked up a bit faster & climbed hills a bit better than the C 50 .I reckon the early 1970’s U.K. versions of the C70 were the best Cubs ever .I have a 2004 Honda Innova carb model in nice nick & ride it more than my larger bikes ,it’s got better front forks than the old Cubs & a front disc brake .The plastic fairings take more time to remove & not as robust as the old Cubs white plastic leg shields ,other wise it is a much better & faster machine ,& is more of a cub than the new keyless single seated monstrosity The c50 cost £120 in 1972 with tax & fully comp insurance of £6•50 included & £140 all in including 2 years finance .I offered my mate £90 for his mint Honda c 70 in 1975 as he hadn’t ridden it due to him losing his bottle after a near miss with a car ..You won’t get them at them in that condition for them prices now ,👍
