Truthfully... we need better schooling and thus... more workers(nurses/doctors) in this country. Though hospital's, and _particularly the industry forces driving the for profits models,_ need to be willing to accept changes to encourage hospital workers to be such. As is, I'm wondering if this 12hr shift thing, is a result of lacking available hires,... and worry that it will soon start being so, because of things like this.

And yet there are some folks who will defend this system tooth and nail while belittling the current generation for not "working hard enough".

Now imagine working overnight as the ONLY cook/ dishwasher working minimum wage and CONSISTENTLY 20 minutes before your shift ends 30 people walk through the door drunk as fuck at least 3 days a week and management expects you to crank out ALL that food, wait for them to finish, bus those tables, and wash all those dishes before the 15 people who work the morning shift and get paid 5$ more than you walk in. Never ONCE in my restaurant career have I EVER seen a woman be expected to work like that, yet as a man " That's just expected"

beg the government. Its not like they will do anything. Landlords have way too much lobbying power. Even during covid lockdown they barely did anything. And all of this is by design. See, she's trying too hard. The goal is to get her to quit her job and go on government assistance. Once she is dependent on the government, they own her, and they will provide for her...at least until they decide she isn't serving her masters well enough by keeping them properly in power. Or they finally run out of other people's money. She's not making enough for them to confiscate enough to support other people on, so she's not useful as someone to squeeze, and she's making too much to be dependent on the government. She is undesirable to the powers that be.

Im a restaurant AM, my GM and i were moved to a new location w 2 of our better employees. A few months pass, and im told i have to transfer back to the old location i had came from due to budget of the location, and wanting to fire a defective AM of the old. As i return, most all our old staff we had built had quit due to a multitude of their own issues. It is now a train wreck, the GM there has become toxic comoared to when we were still there and had trained her, was great up until. But horrific over time of being gone. They choose to avoid giving deserved pay rates, and choose favorites to promote even when not deserving. Im treated like shit and have been on the brink of quitting multiple times due to them. The threads holding me are that i dont generally mind the job itself, and that ik i am appreciated by the peoples opinions i care about much more. Including my DM, my former GM, and even our ceo of the parent company. Im acknowledged as a great manager to chose who care. (And for those who want to ask why didnt i just get promoted to GM, i chose not to and would rather go with my GM as i truly loved working with them and our staff. I also dont personally feel that im ready as a gm, [23y/o] knowing all the different things my GM has to do regularly that i help with some of, others i simply know of, its heavy and takes up large amounts of time even out of work hrs.)
