I’m fortunate to have two jobs here in France. I’m a teacher, which is a stable job that gives me some free time, and a freelance graphic designer, which helps me finance my music project. But I have many musician friends who are or have been in a situation like yours. That doesn’t stop them from being very creative, though, because creativity isn’t about gear. I should also mention that I’ve been buying and selling gear for over 25 years, and sometimes certain instruments increase in value. Don’t get discouraged, you’ll find your way

I think I understand what you mean. For me, ambient is a genre I've been exploring for quite some time, and all my previous videos and experiments are connected to it. That's where the concept for this video comes from. And yes, reverbs are the true artists of ambient (along with delays-let's not forget them) ;-)

I like this video, but I agree with @wielkit. To me it feels like most of the recent Ambient trend is just an excuse for some people to focus on consumerism, and a few brands know exactly how to target this. It is super hard to integrate gear cravings into even slightly more intricate music, but it’s easy with Ambient because with the exception of maybe 1% of people making it, it doesn’t require much creativity.

Yes the Tascam is able to record multitrack directly to the DAW. This is a very nice mixer / audio interface.

Nice. You can stars with a nice synth like arturia microfreak / minifreak and a versatile reverb pedal like the hall of fame. I think they can make already very nice things.

Thank you! I haven’t noticed any digital aspects to the sound with this Tascam. But I’ll admit, I’m more of a musician than a sound engineer.

Squires are fine. I have 3 great ones that, collectively, cost less than any of my Fenders. I guarantee that nobody can tell which is which.

Merci pour le soutien et heureux que la présentation de mon studio te plaise. Alors le patchbay c'est du DIY perso. Ce ne sont que des jacks reliés entre eux dans la boite au final. Ces jours-ci j'ai upgradé d'ailleurs en en fabriquant un avec un sélecteur ( instagram.com/p/DDhIujktE7U/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== ) Le Akai soit j'enregistre direct sur bandes puis le transfère les bandes sur l'ordi, soit je ne fais que passer le son au travers ce qui me sert de préampli. Deux jacks dans les entrées stéréos et des RCA dans les sorties au dos, et c'est parti. Mais je m'en sert aussi en Tape Loop pour la création musicale, tu pourras voir ça en fouillant mes autres vidéos. Et oui tu peux effectivement y brancher des SM57.

I still use the CT5 but more on guitars for now. But it could come back to the synth board periodically because this is a great pedal. This was my first « experimental » pedal I will always use it.

I do not know well microcosm but perhaps ct5 could be close. Mood is very nice as reverb and pitch manipulation. Its a very short looper you have to know this.

Yes, L2 is so simple and usefull. Using it for master the sound is one of the best advice a sound ingeneer told me.
