I recently bought Sienna with 2GR-FE engine, and there is some cord going inside the hood. Not visible from any underneeth or from above. So most likely it's some kind of "block heater". I'm afraid to turn it on, because previous owner said he never used it for 10 years or something. Can I test it like that or it can be different kind of heaters? If it's corroded, can it burn the fu@ng car?

Got 2017 4300 durastar, the 3 spn codes are 597 oc 126, 1552 oc 24, 2023 oc 126, check engine blinks 4 times after startup then goes off, just bugs me what could be wrong with truck, but it runs fine, thanks

Well I used the same info you gave and by turning on the left blinker and simultaneously hitting cruise on an the resume up it did clear mine with 13 codes

Reminds me of my second wife, had to choke er to get er going but she was got old so at 50 I swapped her out for 2 25s I guess I could have gone with a 20 and a 30 or a 35 & a 15 , did I say wife, I meant truck! ...but seriously, I had a similar situation, started the engine and the voltmeter went up and up and pegged so we pulled the reg and alt and took it to someone in Sacratomato who took one look and said "you got a ford alternator and a Chrysler regulator, that'll never work!" Lesson here is "never assume anything"!

Hey my guy I have a 2014 international pro star and I have never noticed the power turn off switch under the fire extinguisher before I will look for it and try what your video showed me to do, I had it cleared once by a guy who had a little devise hooked to his phone some kind of way and it cleared it only to come back later on however I have been running with it on and my readings on my dash are alright the check engine light just stays on not flashing or anything however the triangle symbol shows up flashes a while the also stays lit and it does this often however does not affect the power of the engine or performance what could you suggest to do as I am mechanically inclined to do what i can do before taking it to a shop.

Didn't show how to test regulator ,you just showed that you needed to use the choke to fire up the machine.

The reason you can not clear them is because they are ACTIVE codes. The left turn signal and top button procedure will clear them if they are inactive.

Thanks for this video. I have a 2005 Nissan XTerra Off Road. The battery just went out of warranty (3 Years), and it goes dead over night. It just started doing it suddenly. At first I thought it was because I left a wireless phone charger connected to one of the power outlets (my phone has a bad charging port). I tested exactly as you did with my Fluke 87 meter. I'm getting .160 - .170 amp draw. When I turn on the dome light it goes up to .6 - .7 amps. I've pulled every fuse - inside and under the hood and not a single one reduces the draw. I'm wondering if there could be anything going on inside the battery it's self that could cause that low draw. If you have any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I have 3 fault codes 150:1 2023_14P; 1: 3 613_ 14A and 5:3 2033_ 14P Check Engine light comes up during start sometimes check AC comes on. Check Engine light has been staying on longer and longer

Great vid, thanks for the info. I'm using a fluke a little different than yours, I looked in my manual and it says run the negative lead on the com and positive on 10A. Is this where you are hooked up on yours? Also mine shows an ac/dc option, which do I want to use?
