I left Santa Cruz 20 years ago I miss it too much

It's been years since I last seen the Blue Angels in SF. Always a good time.

Hey man nice surfing, a couple tips if you want: try facing forwards towards the oncoming sets rather than having your back turned a lot. Identify your wave by looking at it THEN turn your board around. This will really help with positioning and will help you to catch way more waves at the right moments (also safer etc). Try paddling with your head more up, curve your spine; i call it “cobra” position. Helps with paddling, weight distribution on your board, and you won’t hurt your neck in the long run. Take a look at your pop up at 1:27 Specifically, pay attention to where your center of weight is. When you're paddling, your center is where your stomach touches the board. That's where your front foot should land. I think you need to bring your hands *below* your pecs (not *at* the pecs like a push up) so that your front leg has more room.

You’re not surfing Pleasure point.. you’re surfing Jacks. Still a sick spot! Anyway, wait til you feel the wave. It will grab the board, tilt you downwards, and you will start gliding with the wave-this is when you wanna pop up.

Keep ur head up and look where you wanna go when you paddle instead of doing long stokes that’s just gonna get you tired and keep ur strokes short closer to your chest and cuff your hands while you paddle

I always see surfers in Santa Cruz I wish I knew how to surf! I got wiped out by a wave once when I was little and that made me afraid of the ocean. But now as an adult I want to conquer my fear so I can become a surfer 🏄‍♀️

I am watching this video in South Korea. I just got back from the Philippines. Sailing was awesome over there. Sailed to Indonesia and back to Mindanao.

My wife and I spent the weekend in SFO and watched part of the race from Coit Tower. I was able to pick out your tri and one other. Great to see this video after having seen the race from land. -bb
