This phenomenal masterpiece is the epitome of the process of letting go. It can relate to anyones story but you can definitely hear the conversation between Vessel and Sleep. Even Euclid's character depicts Vessel with a knife in his right hand and Sleep's mask in his left....which can be depicted from a David and Goliath painting. This masterpiece is pure poetry about acceptance, self realization of the "need" for growth ~ it is a must, and letting go of the past. Vessel IS Divinely guided and I thank God he found the strength and courage to stay. This band, this song has forever changed me. ❤ I'm not crying (crying)

Vessel was definitely crying performing. You can hear him sort of gasp for air right before he took the bow at the end. I don’t blame him, I sob every time I hear this song. This song honestly could be one of the best songs ever made

Branns singing is great on the albums for sure, but still very weak live. They shouldn’t go so Brann heavy on the next album so they can have Brent and Troy singing again more at future concerts. Brent has the best voice in the band when he really tries. Some of the most powerful, triumphant moments from their discography feature Brents vocals. Plus, Brann massively simplifies his drumming in order to sing, which completely negates a large chunk of Mastodon’s appeal.
