Dub and it isn't close

I normally always choose sub but for naruto I much prefer the dub over sub. dub naruto's raspy voice fits naruto so well while sub naruto's voice is just annoying & dumb. The rest of the sub cast is better than dub. But I just prefer dub naruto so much more

The Engine dub is still very impressive but the Japanese sub has 1400's Japanese period dialect from the Kansai regional dialects like Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara from the Sengoku jidai 1455 to 1555 C.E.

Both dub and sub are really great! Thing is, I prefer the dub mainly because of the fact that they have actual kids/sisters voicing the girls, and it actually works, and helps to make a lot of scenes more realistic, especially the scenes in which they are arguing or talking amongst themselves. Dakota Fanning was around the same age as Satsuki when she recorded her lines for the dub, 10-11 years old. Elle Fanning was a little bit older (but not by much) than Mei when she recorded her lines for the dub, 6-7 years old.

I really felt like the dub for berserk 97 was something special. Most of the time the sub is leagues better than dub, but for characters like Griffith, guts, casca, judeau, rickert, and especially the godhand, there really is no competition. The English voice actors knocked it out of the park, no diss to the Japanese VA’s, it’s just such night and day difference

The Dub is absolutely horrible. If you think it is good you probably don't speak English and have never heard native English speakers talking in real life. imo the dub for code Geass is THE BEST, but you can tell the va aren’t completely settled in their character yet towards beginning. But towards the end of s1 and the rest of s2, they are perfect

I quite like lights dubbed voice but I prefer his subbed voice as it suits him more, he sounds calmer, detached and lighter which makes him sound deceptively more innocent which fits his entire facade of being a “regular high schooler”, not just that he’s a regular high schooler, he is the “it” guy in his class, good grades, good looks, good behaviour, no one would be able to suspect him of anything. But L’s dubbed voice really takes it to another level, which is why I prefer the dubbed. L’s dubbed voice is great, and suite his character very well, but the dubbed goes a step further. I love how the va plays and draws out his lines, has an inconsistent pattern of speaking, mumbles, and takes many breaths, it sounds like he is speaking to himself most of the time, not really addressing those around him, forces others to pay attention to what he says closely. Also I think the dubbed is where L’s playful side shines, in some lines he has this sassy undertone in his voice, while still maintaining his deadpan monotone voice. + the dubbed voice is hot.

If you had actually watched the sub (which 80% of these people in the comment section haven’t) you would know that it is better. An American voice does not fit a Japanese character for one. Not to mention that dubbed L sounds like my math professor 🤣. Yagami Light (Japanese) is so much more versatile where he can go from a calm genius to a complete psycho. The dubbed Light talks in the SAME tone throughout the whole show 😂. If I am looking at Ryuzaki I would expect him to sound like the Japanese VA.. not some 40 yr old American highschool teacher 😅

I want a version where the only english dubbed dialog is Tim Curry as the Cat King.

i love how everyone sounds in the dub sm saikis voice is monotone, but not a generic voice, nendou has that rough voice but still has that stupid tone, kaidous voice sounds exactly like a highschooler trying to be a hero, etc my main problem with the sub is most of their voices sound so generic; they dont really sound like high schoolers they just sound like every other character with that trope, while the dub voices are all unique

I'm rewatching aot in English now and I don't really understand why people don't like it in English sure it has some flaws but so does the original Japanese but people act like it doesn't and I don't get why

A comparison gives me different impressions on Light's character, the Japanese voice sounds more like he desires to be a hero cleansing the world of evil, while the English voice personifies all the corruption of him being Kira, basically Japanese Voice is how he presents himself on the outside, but English is his devious embodiment that works perfectly with his internal monologues and ego exposure.

Tenma sounds so exhausted in the dub. Makes sense he operates on patients all day doesnt get rest at all

I'm an English dub watcher, but the og dub is where it's at for this anime.

First time hearing Japan side, I prefer young Sophie in japanese even with the mic sounding weird, cuz I always hated english sophie 's accent, she's the only character who sounds different from the whole english cast. For eng dub, I prefer the witch and calcifer. Jap dub made her sound manly and demonic even though she fits right in with the misfits of the castle. Calcifer is iconic and just doesn't sound the same in jap dub. The rest of the cast were perfect counterparts of each other!

Generally watch the dubs these days. They have come a long way over the years. Black Lagoon always made more sense in English, since three of the four main characters are American.

I think the dub narrator carries the whole series. The sub is allround just better.
