I'm so sorry for the occasional choppiness. When we listened before rendering, the audio seemed fine, but I realized too late that there were issues after the rendering. Moving forward, I will be more diligent with quality control.
The more I hear the plot and worldbuilding of this book, the more I am convinced Aster originally wrote it so that all rulers had human lifespans and ended up changing it to that they're basically immortal after seeing the popularity of SJM

This book and its worldbuilding are disastrous and I never want to touch it but oh my gosh. As a translator I am SO curious how they did the German version. It itches me to just look at a German edition and to check how they translated the names of the realms and stuff. Things like "cliffy thing" and "yolky thing" do not translate well into German
I, too, am curious to learn how the translated versions were handled. I would definitely be open to hearing about these versions if anyone does ever decide to torture themselves in the name of research. Maybe I'll do some digging to see if I can find anything. ♡ Elsa ♡

hang on - there are abbeys in this universe??? as in a religious building? a type of monastery? maybe it's because i always have this kind of video on while doing chores/work - but how????? do they have both immortal rulers with magic powers that literally keep their island(s?) alive, and a pantheon? a single god? organised religion(s?) ? would there not be hugely different religious practices in the different -lings???? Edit: as i hit comment you got to the bit in the video where you talk about it- i should not be surprised alex did not elaborate

Can I just say, the artwork for Oro is so funny to me. He looks like Peeta Mellark dressed up as a king. Every time I hear about Oro in the book, he is at least in his 30s in my mind. Or middle-aged, like a dad. I cannot picture him as a young adult.
For real, though! I also feel like he should have been more of a mentor figure that a love interest for Isla. ♡ Elsa ♡
Same here. I have only learned aviut lightlark from critique-videos who explicitly state that he is a romantic interest and is supposed to be young, but that just makes me imagine a yassified burgerking-king looking dude 😅😅
