I’m now imagining the first dive I’ll have with these things. Scouting the area, trying to figure out how much firepower to use on the enemies in the base, and then I turn around and they’ve been behind me since I stepped out of the Hellpod.

This is almost identical to Motorsport Manager, even the sound design - is it from the same studio? The main difference is the aesthetic and there's a lot of smaller features and details missing but the core concept and basic system is nearly identical. If you liked this definitely try MM.

so it's a contra clone but with way more awesome textures

Whole illuminates' soundtrack gives a sense of final location of some game, where you meet the strongest enemies and bosses that you met before, are becoming usual troops there. I guess this is the music we will hear, when we will fight for super earth liberation in the future...

Am a bot and bug veteran (at this point). Hearing this, we're fucked. Completely, seeing I've never played HD1 and never had experience with the squids 😅😭 But when they arrive, I'll gladly drop, just to learn their tactics. Gotta learn the hard way.

Everyone keeps yapping on about wanting the Illuminate to be added to the game...no, you really fucking don't. The bots and bugs are simple enemies that are easy to understand and counter with just some basic tactics and strategy. The Illuminate are what happens when you get thrown into a game of Call of Cathulu mixed with SCP. This is why we NEED the X-Box players, these guys are basically a more advanced version of the Covenant with the psychic abilities of at least a gravemind at their disposal.

Here in Spain we have something called "Calamares a la gallega", we will do some calamares a la gallega with these guys like we did one century ago
