I had this song originally recommended to me by UA-cam, and then I looked into DUCKWORTH afterwards and both that song and this one really stuck with me because of my nickname, ducky. It’s a nickname that was born from people purposefully mispronouncing my name, to the point that “ducky mo mo” was derived from it and finally shortened to ducky. It actually used to be something that people used to tease me with even when it infuriated me to no end, to the point where even my friends used it daily because they didn’t know any better about how it made me feel. It invalidated my true name and turned me into an animal with no emotions or higher thought. These days I see the name as just another part of who I am, but not because I let other people continue to label me with it, but rather because it stands as a reminder of what I went through and how I’m the one in control now. I could just drop the name and move on, but I keep it because I fought to turn that name from something that tormented me into something that I could be at peace with. The reason why DUCKWORTH stuck with me so much was because I got to hear the name “ducky” being used in a serious manner. Not as a joke, or a stab at me, or anything of the sort. Nothing more than a name. Ostavi Trag, in turn, is incredibly important to me because not only did it introduce me to DUCKWORTH, it also stands as something I can always listen to in order to remember the bad times and realize just how far I have come since then. Anyways sorry for the almost completely unrelated comment, Ostavi Trag always gets me into a deep train of thought and your cover was a spectacular one to reflect on life over. Take care.
