Lakeland Electric
United States
Приєднався 9 лют 2016
Welcome to the official UA-cam Channel for Lakeland Electric. Lakeland Electric is an electric utility serving over 130,000 customers with some of the most economically priced electricity in the state of Florida. Lakeland Electric is the third-largest publically owned utility in Florida and it was one of the first to offer power in the Sunshine State.
Building the Future
Our NextGen plan will add six natural gas-powered reciprocal internal combustion engines that power up quickly to help us manage demand and fluctuations from renewable energy. We’ll add 50-75 megawatts of solar plus up to 10% battery storage. That’s about 3-5 times more solar power! The rest we’ll do with purchase power agreements, interruptible load, and demand management. With this plan, we are on track to reduce Lakeland Electric’s carbon emissions by at least 50% by 2030. #publicpower⚡️ #lkld

After Storm Safety

After the Storm Passes Never go near downed power lines. Always assume they are energized and extremely dangerous. If someone suffers an electric shock, call 911. Even minor shocks may cause serious health problems later. Check for electrical damage inside your homes, such as frayed wires, sparks, or the smell of burning insulation. If you find damage, don't turn your power on until an electric...

If they are wearing gloves they should be wearing sleeves🤦♂️
Different companies different rules bud. You obviously haven’t ever worked out of your own jurisdiction have you
@@linehandibew6205 I've seen some risky dink outfits before 🤣 rules be damned ut doesn't make it any more safe
@@adamcox6960 bro down south all of the power companies where gauntlet gloves with no sleeves. Look up some videos.
Thanks ticher 👏អគុណ
26 years in the business, stay safe guys
My girlfriends husband is a lineman. They truly are heroes.
I can understand. I am an inside electrician. I sometimes get treated like shit. Most people want it done fast and cheap. I wish I could get the same comradeship that those people get.
I’ve Been a lineman for years.I get so tired of these vids that overdramatizes the trade. It’s a job that has a ton of overtime. End of story.
Agreed! 26 plus years for me! No disrespect to the makers of this video, the families highlighted, or LE (I know some personally) but it's a trade with hazards.....and every trade has hazards and requires major sacrifices that separates you from your family. The push to make us heroes has caused these younger guys to think that they are special. They top out, scream for a foreman position, think they're every woman's dream and treat the new guys like trash while not even realizing that they're green themselves! Love this trade, but I am so glad that I was born when I was! More safety rules that make no sense and just as many (or more) accidents! Let's train em right.....quit pumping their ego and let em be lineman for crying out loud! God bless!
I was a Lineman for 28 years until I got hit by 7200 volts. We are a breed of our own!!!!
So how are you now?
Glad you made it lines up boots down stay strong brother
God Bless line crews and their families!
“My mom has absolutely no idea how to cook “! Lol adorable!
No idea how to cook? Lol u got time to learn
Right lol
Im a liney in N.Z now my son is halfway through his first year as a trainee lineman i was a faultman for at least 10yrs miss it heaps
If this is true why do you punish those who have solar?
Music is way too high and annoying versus the peoples voice! cant even watch its so annoying, I turn down because the stupid music then cant hear them because its too low. horrible video. And, I thought I was watching a video about lineman not doomsday preppers
Re
I didn't come here to listen to a so called fire fighter, change your description !!!!!! to... Firefighters
Don’t watch it then
They're boyfriends love storm season!
My dad is a lineman, so I grew up with all this and it is pretty awesome to say your dad keeps everyone's lights on. I start my apprenticeship in January!
How is it so far?
I'm headed to northwest lineman school in March..
@@mylifeisamememylifeispathe3140 it's going good, the work isn't bad I'm climbing all day right now, the hard part is the testing. We test every day on different things like ampacity charts and stuff. And where I'm at you have to maintain an 80% gpa or you will be dropped. Edit: I will say it's hard work tho, just gotta not quit, we had 5 guys drop out of our class the first week. That's after they went thru a 4 month hiring process.
@@MmmChipotle about 20 of the guys in my class all graduated from NLC last July.
@@MFJL760 how many people graduate out of the whole class?
It’s an absolute honor being a Line Wife.
Stay safe. ..do a good job then return to the States all in one piece.
Thank you!
I have two questions about the preparation for storm season processes, #1. Do most Lakeland electrical customers run in parallel failover circuits to the home and # 2. Are the conduits reviewed yearly for the amount of outages which occur for planned improvements to ensure delivery of services are not impeded??
I know that kid in school!!!!!!!
