    Hi, works with the MX5 too? It as the same midi settings…. Are the blocks associated with a rig? Or just general? I mean… if rig1 as a compressor in block1 and rig2 have an overdrive in block1 are those 2 block (1 in each rig) turn off?

    • @Mattguitarmania
      @Mattguitarmania 18 годин тому

      I am not familiar with the MX5 pedal but if it can receive midi signals over Bluetooth then this app will work. If you use it to turn off and on different blocks, that will work on any rig. It all depends on how you program each pad in the app. In the video, I had programmed several pads to control different blocks within rigs. This configuration would work with any rig. But you can customize it as much as you want for each individual rig, or four blocks within the rig. From my experience, this app is the simplest midi control method has compared to more complicated ones like the midi captain or other programmable midi foot switches. I hope This helps!

      @@Mattguitarmania thx for the quick response! The only bug (I think) is that the MX5 (like de Flex Prlme) is that the MIDI connector use an adaptor... from 1/8 to 5pin. It may work but won't charge the xvive. Or maybe with a cheaper clone like mWave (the unit doesN,t charge the battery you do it via usb charging...) thx

      Thank you very much! I do love everything about guitar. I started playing guitar in 1980 at the age of 14 because I really had no other hobbies or interests. Playing guitar and making music really grabbed my heart so I fell in love with it almost immediately. I’m grateful that God has gifted me with music in my soul. So I’m glad to share my passion with others. Thank you so much for your encouragement!

    That guitar sounds as good as it looks. I was thoroughly entertained by your playing too! 😊👍🏼 The overdriven tone sounded really good in the rock n roll parts. The final ozzy bit was a little too fuzzy… perhaps that much gain is a bit much for those pickups. An EMG81 in the bridge would solve that 😝 I was hoping you would rip some pinch harmonics 🤣🤣

    I’ve got an Indonesian one from 97 that a friend had abandoned in my practice space in his gear selling/giving away purge when he moved to Australia 5-10 years ago. Finally took it home recently, as no one else wanted it. It needs a lot of work, but it seems like it might be worth it. Although, I’m a sucker for inheriting or buying junk to fixup and am overdue on treating myself to another nicer guitar.

    Beware: Grover now licenses, some of the worst tuners as well. They're called "G2". They're made, in China, exclusively for Chinese made guitars. (Think: "Chibson") They're not like the old obvious "knock-off" Chibson "Grovers". They look nearly identical to, old "milk bottle", non-locking, Rotomatics. Just looking at them, it's hard to tell the difference. The "Grover" font is right, and crisp. There are no casting marks. They're polished to a high shine, the buttons have a line down the middle etc... The only visible difference, I can see is, the little black washer, (under the button), is flat, instead of wavy like a real Rotomatic's retaining washer. They're 18:1 ratio, but the tolerances are crap. The posts wobble .5mm, in any direction. They bind badly, and the ferrules don't thread properly.

    You sounded great I’m thinking on getting a new guitar but I don’t what to buy I am think a strat a Les Paul or some sort of hollow-ish body guitar which do you think I should I like to play grunge rock and a little bit of blues in there with some cleans here and there.

    • @Mattguitarmania
      @Mattguitarmania 20 днів тому

      Hey thanks for watching and for your kind words! There are so many great, affordable guitars on the market these days. I don't personally buy big name brands as my first choice because I've found so many affordable models that play just as well, or sometimes better, than the big name brands. With this in mind, it sounds like you'd probably want a guitar with humbuckers instead of single coils. Humbuckers tend to growl more with overdrive and distortion, and lots of artists use them for grunge and blues. A Les Paul is the most popular type of guitar with humbuckers in it but there are lots of others. If you have a limited budget, check out some of the Chinese models of Gretsch guitars, like the Electromatic models. I have a blue one and I love it. The pickups are sort of humbuckers but they also sound really great clean. One of my favorite guitars is my D'Angelico Premier, which is shaped like a Les Paul but it has two humbuckers w/ coil split switches, which gives you the option of playing through humbuckers or single coils for cleaner sounds that sound great with just a little overdrive. Last thought, Ibanez makes excellent guitars in all price ranges. My cheapest guitar is a basic model Ibanez that I modified with a killer pre-wired pickguard. This baby plays like butter and yet it only cost me $66 used, including tax and shipping from Goodwill. Here's a video about this guitar: ua-cam.com/video/O3Dhvt1uqNc/v-deo.html Ibanez also makes copies (sometimes better than the originals) of just about every guitar type and shape out there. Keep them in mind! I hope this helps! Thanks again for watching and commenting! Matt

    Just returned my new Headrush (HR) Prime under warranty as it can't process or produce MIDI signals in & out; I got another new replacement under warranty and it fails equally so. Firmware is at 4.0.0 for it Everything works well on it except for MIDI. Through testing with DIN-5 plugs with cables or using only a USB 'B' connection to a Mac or Windows computer, or only using using a 'Bluetooth WIDI Jack' to a Mac, no MIDI signals goes in or out of the Headrush Prime. This is very sad. I was hoping that this digital signal processor could do MIDI. Just so frustrated. Perhaps I am wrong. I use the ART X-15 Ultrafoot MIDI controller which can be seen producing MIDI signals and receiving them with a Mac. Could you please help do MIDI with the HR Prime and the X-15 ?

      @Mattguitarmania Місяць тому

      Hey man I’m really sorry to hear that it didn’t work for you. I am not a specialist on midi and have really just started to understand it over the past few months. But there is a really great group on Facebook where you can ask questions that may help you. Look for the group called “ The Ultimate Headrush FX Community “ I don’t recall anybody in the group ever having a problem with their core or prime units not handling or receiving midi signals. Perhaps your midi controller may have something to do with it. I really wish I knew more but I’m not an expert. I hope you get the problem figured out

      Well I finally got round to trying my Flex prime. And it’s fantastic. And one really great thing the melo audio midi commander I’ve used for a few years now with a headrush gig board and mx5. Literally worked straight away when I plugged it in. So I have it set for CC commands and so I can turn on or off up to 8 blocks in each rig and we’ll as having the built in footswitches built in to the device. Which really expands the controls. But. Set it all up with an audio interface and a pod pro. And sounds fantastic. Cheers

      One thing of importance anyone who wants to use a midi controller with a headrush device needs to get the A Type connector. A while back I bought a B type by mistake and couldn’t get it to work. It says A type in the manual. Ok.

    if i have a boss gt1000 core and a flex prime, can i control both units with one midi captain? like, fs1 delay on gt1000, fs2 overdrive on flex, fs3 reverb on flex, etc etc. also, can i make them change presets at the same time?

    • @Mattguitarmania
      @Mattguitarmania Місяць тому

      Hey thanks for your question! I am not an expert on midi but there are lots of UA-cam videos explaining how to program the midi captain. There is a way that it might work to control two different things by using midi in and midi out on one of the pedals. I honestly don’t know if it can do that but it might work, since it’s a very advanced control controller. Another way it might work is by using two different outputs on the back of the controller. The midi captain has USB out and regular midi in and out jacks on the back I hope it works for you!

      Hello and thank you for watching and commenting! It’s so cool that you are on the other side of the Earth and yet we can connect through UA-cam. I hope you enjoy the amp and Guitar!

      @Mattguitarmania . Yes thanks. The amp circuit board is a lot more set into the cabinet interior, rather snug.so I wasn't going to Jam a crowbar into it. Plugging my guitar in ,the thing just crackled and cried..So I got a can of contact cleaner into all the pots and the guitar pots too. Alot quieter. But the Drive setting is a wailer😅. Ok on clean . It'll do for a while while I get my hands working on guitar work. Cheers

    Yeah, but it's still so... well... BLUE. I have one and I'm starting to detest it. I'm at the point where I don't want to open the case and see that Papa Smurf blue staring back at me. Yamaha really shot itself in the foot with the colors. Seriously, hot merlot? Neon yellow? Flash green? Swift blue? The best color is the metallic red and they don't even offer that in the US.

    Good evening, Matt. I hope you're having a wonderful day. I'm thinking of buying one of these pickguards. Do you recommend them? It looks like a fantastic deal, I'm curious, but I also don't know how the wiring/selector switch works on this. Some people are saying that pickups are microphonic, are they any good? Any tips would be much appreciated.

    • @Mattguitarmania
      @Mattguitarmania 2 місяці тому

      My personal opinion is that these are a phenomenal deal and I have used this Guitar many times on stage at church and in a local club. The pick ups can be microphonic but turning them down a little bit helps. The difficult part is if you need to transfer the electronics to a pickguard that matches your guitar, like I had to do. If you are able to directly install this pickguard on your guitar, I think there are only two or three wires to solder together. It’s assembled and ready to go besides two ground wires and one white wire. I hope this helps!

      @@Mattguitarmania Hello Matt. I forgot to mention that I gave in and bought it, I think it'll arrive in 2 days. But I wanna know something, do these coil splits cancel hum in positions 2 and 4? Is it possible to have it with this config? Thank you and have a great day.

    The problem with these is that the Earlier ones (Fender seems to have started making them again with some Packs) ....the made in china and made in Indonesia old ones lot of bad batches were made of these and the 15R

      @@Mattguitarmania Thanks...ALSO, unfortunately fender never fixed these so if you had an issue while under warranty the techs were told to throw them out and customers were sent new ones so careful with duds as well when buying used... It be cool if you got the front man 20g and see if it has any improvements besides being digital

    Hard to put down a guitar with that many tone possibilities over the focus switch. That mud switch has it uses might just not be for you. If not don’t Pull it still has plenty of possibilities and sound great.
