Hi there... I have an old iMac running on OSX 10.8.5 with an i7 processor, 2.8GHz, 12BG memory, 4 processor cores (it says). Does anyone know if this is supposed to work with my DM-4800? It did work on OSX 10.7 but now it doesn't :-( The Tascam says 'driver offline'.

I Bought a Tascam DM4800 and i am running OS 10.15 catalina, i plugged it up and tne computer does not see it at all, am I missing something?

front is off, screws at the back are out (the ones around the edge), but the read panel is still completely fixed. I just took out the most edgewise screws, the ones that are like half a centimeter from the edge. Is it possible they glued some of these or something? or should I just bash it? Anything else you can think of?

Tascam is disgusting in there support, never again. I have a model 24 its not even 5 years and no update. I mean this thing goes to 96k and thdy just stop pushing driver how stupid

Hey Brian, Nando here. Excellent Video! Can you share your Remote settings on the DM4800 "Machine Control List" & "External Control List"? I'm using the same Mac OS as you, downloaded and installed the driver as you instructed, and checked the Extensions and it's there, but, I can't get my DM3200 to Lock/connect. I'm using Cubase 13 and temporarily saw the IFFWDmkll ports on the Cubase studio settings, but lost them after powering down and restarting. Have any clue as to what's happening?

Thanks for posting this. My 440 was picking up noise from my dimmer and was also buzzing when I touched the grille. I increased the ground tension as showed and tightened everything back up snug. Sounds good now, noise is gone.

Bit of a long shot, I have a UMC404HD that has its D1 diode fried, it is a 3 pin just after the usb socket (marking "P5") and from the video it looks if this model has one too. I suspect ot is some arrangement of zener diodes but since mine is fried I cant tell in what configuration. I was wondering if youd ve so inclined could you do some continuity or voltage tests to help me along? Many thanks!

Unuseable with Apple Silicon processors. That’s the reason I never buy Tascam products since I had one soundcard that stopped working because Tascam won’t update drivers.

hey, thanks for the dissassembly video! just wanna ask something out of main issue in the video in case maybe you understand the problem i have now. so recently, i plugged the dc power into my behringer umc404hd, somehow i put the wrong adapter that wasn't the original adapter that comes within the umc404hd (in this case the adapter has a different volt and amp wattage), and then my audio interface suddenly got glitched where the all light indicator from the input knobs turns on, but my computer doesn't detected any usb inputs. i've changed the usb cable, and turns out the same. im worried that i fried my interface or something. do u have any suggestion or solution that maybe i need to disassembly my interface to check out something inside? thanks!

This type of video is almost dangerous. Many people with neither the soldering skill or wits to figure out what's going on will attempt this and mess up their hardware. I did my own HD500X USB port as they have issues, but that's not my first rodeo as electronics has been my hobby for years. Anyone attempting this without prior soldering/board experience stands a high chance of destroying their equipment. If you're going to do it, remember to buy a 'solder-sucker', a good iron with temp control, and some solder wick. Never hold the iron on the board more than about 3 seconds or you risk lifting the trace you're trying to solder to, and then you're effed. Now I see what you're doing and how it's loose. I would use flux and put a blob of solder on each corner to secure it. Maybe superglue it first if it makes you feel better. Better replacing the entire USB-B port. They are about 10cents on Ali Xpress.

You mentioned making sure the polarity is correct but you don’t say which is which. How do we know which pin goes where?

This was a great video and we didn’t really have trouble seeing like you thought we did lol. Quick question, I’m here because I damaged my combo jack. My interface fell off my desk with the xlr mic cable plugged in. The combo jack is now at an angle and doesn’t receive sound out of that specific combo jack. If someone replaces the connector/combo jack, woo the sound be the same as before? This is on my UA Volt 476p. Thanks!

So it's not a plugin that you leave in the plugin chain. You put it on as a utility to get rid of the noise then you render or bounce that track and you'll be good.

HI. are those capacitors part of the power supply ? i have different problem then yours, my BX5a not turning on at all, not even the blue light in front. it since few years ,your video remind me about it ))) there was a burnt smell and i think a pop sound, when it stopped working. checked and replaced the fuse.(i think the fuse was burnt then' i don't remember, but anyway the new/other fuse is ok and not burnt when turning the switch to on. but the speaker is not turning on anyway.
