Gave a helping hand a couple times so we could squirt out ahead.

Such tricky conditions as things dried out! Thought there'd be more grip as I found more last lap. That was not the case.

Was an unfortunate incident, thank you for reaching out. There was contact on both sides with the front right being tapped moving us over into the Honda who was a bystander who unfortunately also ate a black flag for contact. Being in the middle there's no where to go. Mistakes happen, sounds like you're on the same page as us and want to be open to learning from them regardless of fault. See you at the next event!

They never seem to work for some reason, perhaps not the most educational method of providing feedback as it turns out. That silly late dive to the inside of T7 directly for an early apex never works. Could do a montage of bad passing attempts at that corner.

The orange VW Rabbit is a faster out of class car that opted to try and pass on the outside while my mirror was full of the car behind on track out. It's an extremely risky move and generally faster traffic will pass to the inside on corner exit. I had no idea he was there until I saw a flash of orange in my mirror but I was already tracking out and there's nothing much I could have done. The driver in question is quite good, he just made a mistake, it happens. We chatted afterwards and worked things out, it's fine. It was a silly move that shouldn't have happened in hindsight. Regarding the bump. Bump drafting happens, it's not really allowed per-se but still happens occasionally. In this case a little boost didn't hurt me at all and it's fine. The end of the race however was dangerous and avoidable. We discussed the incident together and learned from it. I would say this kind of thing is pretty rare in PRO3 and not indicative of PRO3 racing in general. Check out my Portland races from the season opener in 2021, I had some fantastic battles for P2 and it was super clean and respectful racing.

The usual gaming of the start was happening behind me and they were rolling a bit faster when the green dropped. Watch the red car close up slightly before I go to throttle on green. I have been caught snoozing before but this wasn't that. Should have also been closer to the field up front, didn't lose ground, but the damage was already done.

Real time in car weathervane! He wasn't sure if the wind would change, always be prepared! It's a camera system, holds two cameras front and back, points into the corner with the wind. The bumps seem to throw it off and you can see it wobble around more than it should occasionally, probably needs more stabilization of some kind. Neat idea, we'll see how the footage looks.

The timing! Incidentally it was just recently swapped over to the JDM KLZE as of a few months ago. We've been using the MegaSquirt ECU for a while now, even on the old stock USDM motor. I'm assuming, perhaps incorrectly since I haven't done any of the work, that the VAF was swapped for a MAF. I don't know all the requirements for the MegaSquirt swap since I race an E30 and live in the dark ages of technology.

Thanks! The car was originally built by someone else before I bought it in 2014. For the 2018 season I stripped the car down to the shell, repainted, wiring thinned, odds and ends removed, basically a full rebuild short of the cage and body panels of course. I did everything but paint and the motor rebuild at the time which has been a great learning experience. Luckily the rules prevent us from going nuts with car development so there comes a point where we are forced to focus on the driver which is the great part about this series. Edit: Had the year wrong, it was 2018 for the refresh not 2017.

Club racing is pretty much open to anyone with a competition license which can be attained through a sanctioning body like ICSCC (the one we run under here), NASA, or SCCA. Obtaining a competition license varies from each sanctioning body but the details will be on their website on how to get involved. Regarding entry fees they can vary from event to event but it isn't the cheapest of hobbies. Entry fees alone can range from $200-$600 depending on the event location, how many races entered, test days, etc.

Pacific Raceways (Kent, WA) Portland International Raceway (Portland, WA) Ridge Motorsports Park (Shelton, WA) Spokane County Raceway (Spokane, WA) Mission Raceway Park (Mission, BC) We used to drive Oregon Raceway Park as well but that's been off the schedule for the last couple years. Hoping it makes a return as it's a really fun track.

Ok cool. I live in kalispell Montana and currently doing Scca auto cross but looking road race instead.
