    your videos are by far the most sane, i had been watching and searching youtube content about this game and its fun, at one side you have weird nerds channels that will defend the game at any costs, and at the other side weird haters channels that gonna hate the game, and both are very dishonest, but you my friend are in a very sweet spot in the middle of these two, and this is because you are honest in your opinion, please do more videos talking about the game.

    I think the level 1 to 20 being fast was intentional because it gives you enough time to understand the skill but also gets you to the point where you can start doing the AFK offline activities and start using knowledge points to level skills you don't like. The 20 levels gives you enough time to decide if you like the skill or not. I think he's also trying to intentionally incentivize people to move around more and do different activities. Because you get knowledge while doing skills under 20 so you could always just dump levels XP into skills while you're getting the other skills up.

    My story is similar I am a few days from turning 32, starting playing RuneScape when I was 11. I didn't quit when EoC came out but I wasn't happy, I did super slow down around that time though and slowly stopped playing. I played dark scape for a bit before it shut down. I didn't play old school because I was afraid it would close like dark scape did. So I stuck to RS3. When mobile came out I played a lot again but mostly afk stuff on my phone. Most of my last few years of RuneScape was 100% just playing it in my phone doing afk stuff. Now I haven't played for a while and have like no drive. However RuneScape was like my childhood. When I was a teenager I actively played for hours every day.

    Another Guardian here, there will be an army of us lol. As for updates, I get my updates when I load the game and see the update list. Cheers, great video, I play when I can and love the afk that allows me to login once a day when I can and keep progressing a bit.

    Sorry but the whole catch up feeling is a load of bs. You have to grind through all the episodes before you get too the new one. That is a lot of catching up. And then players with high crafting will have an advantage with best gear as they lvl and or lots of gold to buy things vs what a new player has. Game shouldnt be built around trying to hamper older players for newer players.

  • @Stryth

    I like how every episode has it's own skills, so when you go to a new place there's no dead content in the sense you have already outlevelled a quest requirement or the monsters in the region. You go in there experiencing all the content and being challenged just like everyone else

  • @Stryth
    @Stryth 19 днів тому

    17:20 - disagree with this point. you wont be at the same state as someone who has just started playing because all the newer areas require a certain regional level, progress in the main quest and an overall level to get to the next episode. So someone who starts new will not instantly have access to Stonemaw Hill as soon as it comes out.

      ye, but someone with 50 hours played isn't that far off from someone with 500 hours played in the new episode, compared to something like runescape.

    nice vid! i've been playing casual as a side game too when i want to chill. Really not sure what I think of combat being reset every episode, as someone who doesn't have a lot of time to invest being on a level playing field doesn't really matter in new episodes because people with more time are going to power above me anyway.

    • @jamesbaker1873
      @jamesbaker1873 19 днів тому

      @Strike0N3 it helps keep people on an even playing field. Everyone starts at 0 and because of that, you can't go grind 500 combat levels and just walk through every bit of new combat they release. And not being able to keep up with top players is gonna happen regardless unless you casually play 30 hours a week xD

    • @Strike0N3

      @jamesbaker1873 but each enemy has multiple levels so it would just default to the highest? I can see the benefits but it's made me focus non combat skills more

    The idea that everyone is on an even playing field when a new chapter drops isn't even true, because a lot of skills can be bought and the enchantress gives you a huge leg-up if you have a large amount of cash stockpiled. Right now the best strategy is to solo-focus one region and then build up a bunch of cash and use that to buy your way through the next. You won't really notice it if you train your skills/regions evenly but if you start to excel in one, the design starts to break down. When you can make a 10% potion in one region and sell it for enough to buy all the 5% potions you want in every other region, why bother making those potions yourself? Now there's no reason to collect those materials so that's another skill not even worth investing in, and then it all cascades from there. This problem is only going to get worse when player trading is introduced.

      Yeah, I think most people have seen the massive flaws in this game and quit already because of it. The game shouldn't have 2k players online right now for a brand new "MMO". And they want to call it "early access" but it's fully released really.. your characters will never reset and the game is available worldwide... so it's not even really early access technically, they are using the wording of "EA" as an excuse to launch a game in this state, which looks like it was 2+ years from being even EA ready. It's a game designed with Runescape type players in mind, being a grind fest right from the start of the game.. and those RS players have already decided they don't like it, so the future of the game will rely on people mostly unfamiliar with the grindscape mindset of this type of MMO lol. And TBH Brighter Shores needs EOC more than RS ever did.. The entire combat system in the game has to be the laziest cookie cutter mobile game design I've ever seen for a steam launched MMO and it looks and feels like it was made for people who are probably a little slower and/or not as high tier in OSRS as they want to pretend they are and are maybe hoping for a fresh start in a game where the good players won't actually move over to Brighter Shores, so they actually might have a chance at not being bad, relative to their peers in the game. Gower said this was made from passion, with "bread and depth" in mind, but it's just another Skin Unlocker Simulator. It's nothing new or fresh. It feels forced and lazy. I guess that's why the game went from 21k to 2k players in its first month. New MMOs should be bringing people in, not having 95% uninstall rates lol. I bet it gets to below 1k players before xmas. Wild for a MMO where your account is permanent right now so calling it early access is 100% the wrong terminology and would be just be feeding into the lie Gower stuffed in our face to get us to even play the game now, and not in 2 years when it's actually ready for the title of being called an MMO. I played Gowers games for 2 decades now, and I gave it a solid shot, putting 250 hours in and getting to 1055 total level, I'm glad the game sits well with some people, but there's no shot I ever return, and I hope the people who stay and play this game get real enjoyment that I could not find.

    The combat system is disappointing. Even though I enjoy playing the game, it is never good to have such an obtuse system where you don't seem much of a difference from stats on your equipment, I don't understand why games with rpg mechanics don't let it actually be a 1:1 conversion where u literally see the impact your stats have. Had to look up details to find out that different weapons have DIFFERENT attack speeds so u end up having more consistent performance with less "powerful" weapons that hit way faster than the slowest type. It is a shame cause the game is enjoyable enough and I will still be doing combat but man is it more stressful than it needs to be when every mob is capable of btfoing your avatar if u suddenly get bad dmg and they suddenly get good dmg and your left without consistent ways to boost your dmg.

He said he has 100 hours as of the making of this video, he also mentions that there were multiple days he did not play at all so you can assume the average hours a day he played is higher than the result of the math. If you divide his hours by the amount of days since release; 100/26, you get approximately 3.8 hours/day. There is nothing casual about that.

    These crafting games are so boring and mentally exhausting. The first time its fun but after that its just reskins of the same game. Make weapons, beat easy enemies.
