How do you think this boat will do with a 25 mercury jet ?
Professional what? For sure not duck hunter
You would be correct. I wasn’t referring to me, I was referring to the videographer. But thanks for your kind words…
Great video!! Even better paint job. Do you have a video on how you installed transom saver?
Thanks man, I appreciate that. I have another video on how to do a camo paint job, if that’s interesting to you. I also have a video of installing the transom saver, but I never uploaded it. I’ll have to get around to finishing it up and posting it.
I wear 10 1/2 size work boots Size up or size down? Can’t find out online
I wear a 9 1/2, and I got size 10. They fit me perfectly.
Do you run into any problems with the blind frame interfering with your tiller handle?
Not how it’s set up now, but if I remember correctly - at the beginning I had to mess with it a bit.
Nice boat, but the motor is too small. You should've put a 40 hp on it! I used to have a tracker grizzly 1754 jon boat with a 25 ho on it, I made a mistake and didn't put a 40 hp. My current boat is a tracker grizzly 1860 with a 60 hp tiller on it.
Yeah, the power was ok - but more would have been better. I bet that 60hp works pretty good though.
@BadAtHunting it does.. moves that boat right along
Good job with what looks like the flag blended in @ the 11:33 mark.
Thanks man. That was a little hidden Easter Egg I threw in there. :)
The biggest advantage I’ve seen that makes the zipper 100% worth it is it’s so much easier to pee when standing in water. No rolling waders down but trying not to get them too far down where they get wet. Just zip and pee
Haha. That’s true. If I had to do it over, I’d probably go with no zipper, but it totally see your point.
Just FYI gentlemen if you do your scouting and go hunt where ducks naturally want to be you never have to use decoys or call! Been killing limits for 20 years just setting up where the ducks naturally want to go feed. Like the old saying keep it simple stupid.
For sure - if you can find them, that’s always the best. We hunt public land in CA that has hundreds of guys spread all over it. You don’t always get the spot you want.
I just got one and noticed that when you are charging it, the orange diodes light up ever so slightly at the same time as the blue charging indicators. This happens while the lantern is in off position. Probably only visible in the dark room. Does yours do the same? Just want to rule out any defects while I can still exchange it.
I haven’t noticed that issue
Depends on the duck
Yup. This would not be the setup for timber, or open water. But I seem to do pretty well on public land with this.
Looks like the back foam padding has creaes already from use? And does the back pad and shoulders stay wet?
Yes, the back pad/shoulder straps absorb water - so if you completely submerge it, you will get wet. The contents inside the bag are safe though.
@BadAtHunting thank you, is your foam backing showing wear and creasing after one month of use? I think I seen it in the video
Hmm, I don’t think so. I feel like it’s held up great since I got it a few months ago. No complaints - except for what I talk about in the video.
Look at 1:35-1:40 down towards the bottom @@BadAtHunting
Yeah, I can see what you’re saying. There is a bit, but I didn’t notice it before. The video does make it look way worse than it really is though.
I’m gonna make sure I comment because this is the best video on the headlamp and you’ve got great video quality. Keep it up man
Thanks man. I’m trying make good stuff- but I’m still learning.
You guys suck. Calling is horrible, bird ID bad. Coots are not ducks. And why even take decoys when you shoot passing birds that are too far. Don’t come to my refuge please.
#6 not enough sour punch straws
Haha. True. You can never bring enough snacks.
Thanks man, I was wondering how my lab would get in and out
No problem man. :)
Where is it you’re hunting?
I’m in CA.
@ same here. Did some good hunting at the Sac Wildlife Refuge. Season is winding down looking for some more public land opportunities. Any help?
You could try going down to the Los Bano’s area, but you’re on the right track with looking for different refuges.
@ Appreciate the help. I’ll give Los Banos a look. Hit them hard for the rest of the season 👊
@brodela1 you too.
Were you in HMB a couple weeks ago?
I thought it was you
Half moon bay
No, I wish though. That’s a beautiful part of the state.

Stop ruining the sport. Getting sponsored and growing a UA-cam channel are two characteristics of the community that is ruining the sport. Put the cameras away and enjoy your time in the woods with your son. Not every guy and gal in the marsh needs to be a famous hunting influencer.
I don’t think it’s for everyone either, but there are some people who enjoy it so much they want to be able to do it all the time. I don’t see anything wrong with trying to do what you love as a career.
Thank you so much for your videos. But i am having trouble understanding the bag limit. Please help. For example i shot 7 mallards, 1 pintail, 2 redhead and 2 scoots. I am over the bag limit?
I hope you’re just trying to be funny.
My tides have been great. Put them through it yesterday.
That’s awesome. Mine have held up well to the abuse too.
You ever learn hunter’s etiquette at least try to work the birds especially if ur on a refuge or public
Yup, we do our best to get them to come in.
Great review
Thanks man. I appreciate it.
Have you ever had a sponsorship?
Thanks Jeb
No problem. Hopefully it helps.
A modified for lead is a full for steel, and choke tubes are advertised for lead unless it says “full steel” or “steel only” also concealment isn’t so much your clothes as it is your cover, I’ve shot geese wearing blue jeans and a brown sweatshirt laying in a corn field but I was covered up pretty good, also with the sun if it’s in your eyes your face is glowing to them if it’s at your back they’re blind
I agree, being well hidden isn’t just about what camo you wear- but how well you think through your blind setup.
High shooting. When I get desperate/excited I shoot too high
#5 just shoot a full, #4 most hunting is trafficking your not where they want to be which requires more calling/circus displays - initially. knowing when to shut up is good. #3 is solid, #2 convenience rules all - people don't care and they will always half ass there hide. unobstructed view of everything for higher shots and some flares. #1 i just do the opener and the last month. There isn't enough birds not worth it.
What are some mistakes you think duck hunters make?
Actually going is the real struggle. I feel like I spend all my time getting ready to go hunting or fishing and very little time hunting or fishing.
Haha, that’s so true.
Very helpful. thanks!
No problem. Thanks for the encouraging words.
Hello, peter South Africa I would like to send you sum duck callers
Good tips. In your opinion are perfect conditions? I would add pattern your shot before the season and test your loads. I improved my results by choosing a better choke because I did that. Ask around for the successful shot and size others have used to reduce crippling.
Where I’m at, I like a good north wind and a little bit of clouds. You’re right though, a good quality choke tube can make a lot of difference. What brand did you buy?
@ The Muller Passing choke kept my patter from decoy out to 40 yds. I don’t shoot past that anyway. It helped me also finish off cripples. I bought the Decoy and UFO chokes from Muller and will try the Decoy choke early in the season the UFO for geese. I also had more straight kills and used less shot using Boss Warchief. Some instant drops I never had before.
I’ve always heard good things about müller chokes.
@@BadAtHunting I did compare with the OEM choke and it was better. Now Boss sells chokes made for them buy Muller but you buy them from Boss not Muller. There are so many things to mention for mistakes - that I have learned on my own because I don't hunt with someone who has hunted ducks for years. I have a dog that this year I plan to have in his own cover. I want to build a portable blind that folds out. If you have a video on that that would be helpful.
I do have a video about the MoMarsh InvisiLab dog blind. I used it all the time for the last 5 seasons, and it works great. I’ll have to check out the BOSS / Müller choke tubes. Thanks for the heads up.
I bet I make all five of these- I know I make all of these.
Bro Montana love you!
Cool shoot, looks like a really nice property
Yeah the property was incredible. I haven’t seen so many turkeys in one place like that before.
👍
Fun watch! Success! And the final shadow puppet show🤣🥰
Thanks.
Be on the lookout for our new shirts and hats to hit the store and thanks again to DarkEnergy.com for sponsoring this video.
Do you know if for the first come first serve you have to pay per person or how it work ?
Yeah, at CWA properties there is a fee for the First Come, First Served hunts. It’s about $125 per person.
Any luck this year ?
Not really. Though I did get to mark “Ruddy Ducks” off my list. :)
So I have a grizzly tracker 1654 so you’re saying I need to get a 1800 model
If I had to do it again, yeah I’d go with a 1800. The 1600 does fit fine, with the only exception being the motor isn’t fully covered.
Sorry, but that call needs to go away.
I’m not the best at it, that’s for sure.
👏
Thanks.
Been trying to incorporate it into my hunts. Definitely second the zipper being rough on the hands. I too took the hip belt off, but when i used it it was a great fit. I come from using blind bags which have multiple pockets and organization. I dont see my blind bag every truly leaving, but for a field hunt or swamp/woods hunt it is good. I have purchased a few of the small dry bags to help organize stuff. It is expensive but is well made and is truly waterproof
I totally agree.
wish i could get them off the website you mentioned but they have literally no sitka in stock
Oh bummer. They usually have some pretty good deals on Sitka (and other brands) - if it’s in stock.
I wear size 11 boots with room to spare (comfortable and plenty tight when not in wader applications). Should I size down in these so they don’t get sucked off in mud? I’m also 6’1” 180 with a 32” waist. I’m not sure what your dimensions are, but with the experience you have, do you have any sizing advice?
I’m 6’2” 195lbs. The waders are size 10 regular’s since the boots fit pretty true to size. I’ve never had an issue with them getting stuck in the mud, but with some other neoprene ones I own- that happens all the time.
I like the idea of a stern handle open concept longer boat like yours it just makes it so functional and with the controls panel in the mid center it don’t take up room to one side or the other thats a smart design I know the chairs are not needed but millennium chairs are nice just a comfort thing.
The only problem with a rear tiller like that is, if you fish on a river a lot, you can’t really see over the bow very well. With a center or side console, you can’t stand up easier, and get a better view of the waters ahead.
That is a pretty nice boat to begin with I like it
I totally agree, they’re great boats.
