In my opinion, one of the best way to mix action and rpg elements, is completely viable to beat the game with the B button (in the case of BN) (unless the games restricts you sometimes), or with only the chip/powers mechanics, but of course the best way is to master both

If you're watching this after October 2022 and grid fight caught your eye but you didn't like the graphics 1. It got renamed to grid force 2. It got a substantial improvement (This might've happened a long time ago but i discovered the video today 😅)

I wouldn't call Chrono X a battle Network like game. It's literally a battle Network fan game. And it's one of the better ones at that.

@@debonairlivestreams9997 Chrono X is meant to take place in the Battle Network universe and uses pre-established Battle Network characters and elements like.... Lan, Megaman, net Navis, viruses, virus busting, net battles, PETs that navis live in, battlechips for fighting Navis and viruses, folders to keep those battlechips in and the exact same core battle system as other Battle Network game. At the end of the day Chrono X does add some new things but the vast majority of what's there was originally conceptualized buy Capcom. They can make new characters but as long as those characters are net operators and net Navis fighting viruses in the world of Battle Network. It's a fan game Where a battle network like game would takes inspiration and or a handful of elements from Battle Network but wouldn't use any of the intellectual properties( characters, Concepts and universe) from the series. In short original characters, original universe and original ideas. One Step from Eden is a great example of a battle Network like game. It uses a similar grid-based fighting arena and has deck building for its battles. But that's pretty much where the similarities end. The way in how you use your cards in battle is similar but still quite different from battle chips. One Step from Eden also takes place in a completely original universe with zero connection to Battle Network or its characters (outside of a cute reference here and there). In one step from Eden You play as one of many character on a dangerous journey through the world to get to a place called Eden choosing to kill or spare bosses along the way. As you play through the game if you die even once you lose your whole deck and start all the way back at the beginning of the game. where you start, the order of the bosses you face, and the cards you collect are all random making each playthrough unique. Where in Battle Network you play as Lan and Megaman and switch back and forth between them and the real world and cyber world. solve puzzles, helping people and fight evil navis and viruses all to foil the bad guys plan and I save the world. When you get game over in battle Network you start off at your last save point. So One step from Eden is inspired by Battle Network but is still very different from it making it a battle Network like game. Both One Step from Eden and Chrono X are still very well-made games even if one is a fan game it doesn't take away from its quality at the end of the day. I hope this helps

I personally could never get into one step from Eden I know a lot of people love it. But I really hate how you lose your whole deck once you die and then have to collect and reconstruct it all over again. I know that's the nature of roguelikes but I never knew it was a rogue like going in I was always told "if you like Battle Network you'll love it" well... I didn't. Its just not how I like to play these types of games and for me it becomes more irritating then fun . But hey if you like roguelikes and Megaman Battle Network this game might be your kind of thing. if people managed to enjoy it more power to them.
Understandable, I can see what you mean. I honestly like starting over and it makes me want to try making different kinds of builds the game offers like frost, burn, fragile, poison etc. Especially other characters just for variety.
I agree with this. I think Eden is a great game but it's not for me. To be a true BN successor a story mode is needed.
