Established in October 2011, the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health builds upon decades of experience in research, teaching and practice as a department of epidemiology and public health. Moving beyond the traditional domains of chronic disease aetiology and risk factors, the School emphasises new technologies and methods to measure and monitor exposure and disease, as well as new approaches to translate public health discovery programmes, policies and healthier communities.
With a distinctly Asian focus, the School's existing strengths include chronic disease epidemiology, statistical genomics and workplace health as well as a well-developed Master of Public Health programme. For more information, visit sph.nus.edu.sg.

NCO was invited to give an overview at the quarterly National Precision Medicine Alliance (NPMA) meeting. This was held in-person on 27 Aug 2024. A/P Sim Xueling, Director of NCO, gave a 20 mins presentation on cohorts, biobanks, secondary use of cohort data including necessary consent and the motivations of NCO to maximise these cohort resources.

Check out this 6 Jan 2023 Yahoo News - MONTPELLIER, France, January 05, 2023--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The study conducted in 399 participants met its primary efficacy endpoint with a reduction of 72% of COVID-19 infection in the group treated with daily oral administration of ivermectin compared to the placebo group. Ivermectin administered for 28 days demonstrated acceptable safety and tolerability without any unexpected safety signals.
I find comments of Dr. Koong very impactful (video time from 30 minutes to 32.10 minutes)- support to tobacco-free generation comes because it is "protective and not prohibitive". Also, the support comes because "it unites society instead of creating a social divide". I concur totally with his argument that "it is the best defence as well the best offence against tobacco industry because no industry will like to be on board to oppose the Youth".
