    I have a row of 6 setts to do at the front of the entrance to the driveway and was wondering about pointing setts. I havent done flowpoint but thought best way so i arrived here. Looks like a fairly straightforward process but i know what im like at concreting rushing around like a blue arsed fly so can imagine ill be panicking when applying flow point. Ill be doing it though. Great informative video. Thanks

    I wish they show more of the stone work instead of focusing their faces. I have to rewind and freeze to see how it’s made.

    Use the white side of the mallet it will reduce the risk of the slabs cracking

    I'd definitely recommend PRIMING the back of those slabs. They just don't bond properly without it...Also, get yourself a TILE LEVELLING SYSTEM instead of those tiddly tile spacers. You'll find it much easier than just relying on a spirit level..Those spacers can be a right pain in the arse used externally. Finally, dont forget the ROD BACKER between those joints.. The grout will piss out every where or drop into voids if you don't.. When youve finished laying, cover the porcelain with a TEMPORARY SEALER before you grout.. If you dont do this youll have a devils own job trying to clean the grout residue off and you will not stain the porcelain....Finally, get yourself 5l of GROUT RESIDUE REMOVER to clean..This is how i install porcelain..I hate the word 'slabbin'..Its used by fookin idiots and monkeys who dont really know what theyre doing.. Invest in good kit, especially cutting blades and a polishing kit for any cut edges.. youll get a far better finish than have a paving slab chipped to buggery..

    I can't understand why u start at th top an work down. ?. I would work from th bottom up. Then th spacer holds your next timber.

      Think it will be so it guarantees an qual gap to his top rail otherwise could end up with a different margin

      @KeeronMac 27 днів тому

      Probably starts at the top so he has a full board at the top. No-one will notice if the bottom board will be trimmed, say the ground was unlevel for example, but it would be very obvious if the top board was cut.

      I'm guessing they just back fill it with soil that they've removed and then put some of the turf they dug up or grass seed on top.
