    This song is so good. This version Is so much better than the studio one. The chugging train beat is way better. It’s so much more atmospheric. I LOVE it!

    This is the best song ever to audio visualize a train. The violins are great. All modern music is based on the track, the clicks, the rhythm.

    Here because Neil Young is such a stuck up suck pump and made Spotify take his music off because he didn’t want to share a platform with Joe Rogan. Good song though.

    A show on this tour in 1985 was the first time that I saw Neil Young. Despite that reviewers didn't like the ""Old Ways" album, the new material was very well received. I thought the IH's were a great band. Rufus Thibodeaux was quite the sight on stage. I think this works better in this arrangement, but I like the "Reactor" version, too. I put both in my Neil Young playlist. Thanks for the upload!

    A great song. Sure I like the folk rock version more than the country folk version. But this man is a giant in any venue. I wish we could have met in a place where we were from the same side of town.

    My husband saw him perform this live, he was 14yo, in Melbourne mid 80s. He said the entire stadium was going off. Just pumping! Everyone singing! And it was in the encore!

    Ol' Neil, Trumpist 25 years before its time....: My old car keeps breaking down My new car ain't from Japan There's already too many Datsuns In this town. Another thing that's bugging me Is this commercial on TV Says that Detroit can't make good cars any more.

    Burton Cummings w/ The Guess Who sings this so much better. Neil is a great writer. Not a good singer

    • @davidmurray2539
      @davidmurray2539 Рік тому

      Neil Young has a deep soul. His voice is to be considered great because it is the soul's messenger, as is his guitar playing. Burton Cummings is a singer. You can grade him as fair, good, or even great depending on how you feel. He named his group Guess Who. Their songs were bland, shallow, and paint by number. Burton Cumming's soul never found a messenger that believed he was anything more than a fair, good or even great singer.

    When I was a little girl 3 up to 5 then on weekends I would be at my Grandparents where I lived growing up. We would here the trains and as they approached Toledo Wa And the whistle blew I would get so excited so I’d know the hobo’s were coming. So sure enough my Grams would make several sandwiches heat up was was left over from dinner. After they crossed the wooden bridge at the end of our driveway. Wed be there to greet themWhere you coming from? And they would always ask you got any work for some food/grub? My Gramps would always say “Can you move that round over by fire?” That’s a I got today but we’ll feed you before you journey on. And once they left he’d move the round back where it was so that could be the next job for those who were still to come. But while they were there I loved to sing my Noweigian songs I knew and dance around the fire and then they would share there lifes stories or about their lives on the train. They would finish their hot meal and I’d take in the plate to the sink and bring them those 2 sandwiches for them for later. I loved the trains they always brought new friends to meet. ❣️Donna

    This is the song of the album...of course if you are not into country at all....Thisis the only relief you have...I saw that tour... i was so disappointed...Of course all the musicians were great but that dosn't echo in me at all... I wonder if they are other songs like Down by the River that sounds different and interesting...? played by The harvester... I bow down to the adventure though that Neil Young has taken us since i listen to him (73) No one has done that except peter hammill and Zappa... those are unique TRUE artist ...(Me two i try to never write the same play)...
