Sup, I see you've made it to the description. Not sure why you're here but I guess I'll give you a run down of the video even though the video is already playing. After buying a single roll of expired and unbranded 35mm film I try to discover it's origins and figure out the best way to shoot this film. Whether or not the photos turned out is up to you!

Sup, I see you've made it to the description. Not sure why you're here but I guess I'll give you a run down of the video even though the video is already playing. Paul Bundy and I hop in a rented Buick and drive an excruciatingly long way to spend a weekend in an incredible town called Morro Bay. Taking detours along the way we photograph what we love and what we hate. One of those is true and ...

I can't just go on vacation without bringing along a bundle of cameras. Instead of just sitting back and enjoying a cruise through the Gulf of Mexico I decided to take some film and shoot photos like crazy. I will cover all of the photos that I took in sequential order relaying small bits of info about a select few. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy!

Looking at others photos is akin to being a mind reader. Unless they're digital. The photos, not the others.
It’s just a case of, know your gear. Shoot a few rolls of what you know through it. Love most of the shots though. 👍🏻 See you next time!
NC500 rocks man, i love how my roll came out. i took two of my favorites of all time on it
Seaside is one of our favorite places to stay when we go to the coast. I really love going in between seasons in the spring or fall. Weather isnt as good but there is a otherworldy feel to a beach tourist town during that time
No...SLC is less weird because of you visiting it.
I've been waiting for someone to find this little egg!
The Pentax 17 is an auto-everything, point-n-shoot camera with a few parts of its automation removed. It manually focuses, but those types of photos which would require some knowledge in using manual focus are still autofocus automated. The camera has aperture selection by the user, except that process is automatically overridden to auto exposure in situations where any knowledge of exposure control might be required. In summary, the camera is carefully designed in the marketing department to attract cell phone photographers who want to switch social groups from folks who are essentially social non-photographers, loading a thousand forgettable snaps of nothing in particular on their phones, to film photography, where the cool kids hang out. You have to fuss a little with the Pentax, but it never taxes you to learn anything about the process of photography or anything significant about camera operation. It uses a pop bottle quality lens, because its target buyer does care anyway. It's sort of like Trump look for voters. He likes them stupid so he can keep them stupid. Buyer who pay $500, thinking they are stepping up into film-based photography, are just fooling themselves. Ricoh (Pentax) is just banking on the prospect that there are enough of them to make this bastard mix of camera tech profitable. Pentax 17 as the great white hope of film photography? Stop drinking that Kool-Aid.
Of the few reviews I’ve read and watched of this emulsion, your scans are about the worst I’ve seen and I wonder if your lab is developing or scanning them wrong. Since it’s based on a cinema film, I wonder how it would look ECN-2 processed?
It may be the scans. It would be interesting to process it in ECN-2 but, I'm not able to so I'll leave that to the pros 🫡
The jokes in this video 💀
You’re so sassy
You're welcome 🤗
Hello. I’ve had a similar experience with this film. High hopes. Hopes dashed. But I’m digging your channel! Peace.
The HP5 shots around 14:35 are killer.
Those album cover family photos are the only way I’m taking a photo of my family from now on 🫡

Thanks for this video. It was terrific! My wife and I are traveling to that area of Oregon next year. I've already started to ponder which film stocks I will take with me. Peace!
Maybe I'm a lunatic but I wish I had brought at least one roll of B&W! Have fun out there, cheers!
Do you live in Oregon? If so we should do some photography trips together.
I wish I lived in Oregon! I don't get out that way very much but, I definitely need to go on more photo trips!
@@KylersFilm next time you’re in the area message me. Hopefully by then I’ll have more than 1 sub haha
Keep grinding! It takes forever especially in a niche as small as photography but very rewarding! I'm still grinding as well. I feel your struggle!
@@KylersFilm best of luck to you!
I still have two rolls of this in the freezer that I bought in Japan in 2017
Lucky son of a gun!
@@KylersFilm I’d never heard of it before, wish I brought back more… you don’t want to know what it cost 😭
Part of me does want to know 👀
this is an amazingly put together video! and the shots are so cool. altogether a very vibey watch. B)
Tanks em :)
Well done.
That's a very cool camera 👀
Vegas checking in. Yes it's hot 😅
Y'all are built different to be living out there. 🥵
Wait the family photos with the light house kinda eats 😍 24:44 Haha I have the opposite effect, I shoot so much Fujifilm the rare moment I shoot Portra 400, I like the tonal change. Great video, maybe I'll have to take a trip to the coast this weekend 🤣
Thank you! I wish I were closer to the coast! I would be out there all the time!
This is a great video showing a great bond both between you and your family and you and your film-shooting experience. I wish you fame and fortune (and sponsors) because you deserve them!
Thank you so much! ☺️ Your kind words mean the world!
Great video, but the intro was 10/10 😂
I need to get a sponsor so it can be 0/10 🤑🤑🤑
That Agfa Optima made for some nice family photos! I’ll have to try to find a roll. Having your wife feature so prominently in her off-camera comments was a nice addition.
Having your wife so supportive of your UA-cam endeavours is really cool.
Great video, cheers!
Thank you!
I’m so proud of you ❤
Wooah big camera making an appearance 👀
Just a small cameo 🤗
errie
I need to try with my Fujica GW690!
When you do, let me know what you think about it! I enjoyed shooting this film!
Neat 🎉
I love these photos!
This reminds me of when I had a couple rolls of film from HP and even Kroger since when did they sell film. I’ve seen ferrania on one of them I’ll have to check what the others said
kind of funny how I knew it was a Mamiya 7 cause I'm on the same boat, but man, I really can't afford that rn haha, I'm happy with my M645 and RB67, I just wish they were lighter.
It really is astonishing how much convenience can cost! I can't even imagine what it would be like to lug around the rb67!
@@KylersFilm I know! That’s my dream camera probably as well, I’m not too into rangefinders, but the size is just undeniable! About the RB67, me biceps and forearms have gotten bigger no joke 😂
Hmmmmmmm ??
this is awesome! definitely some cool shots
Thanks ya!
Some really nice photographs! After going through a Mamiya 1000S, Contax 645, Hassy 500 c/M, and a Rolleiflex 3.5E, I finally settled on a Bronica RF645. Of course I still have all those other MFs but they’ll eventually be sold except for the Hassy, I think.
I still have yet to try a TLR! You're right too. I could be benefited by having a couple extra cameras around haha
@@KylersFilm It’s fairly compact and light, a great walk-around camera. If you’re back in the Bay Area, you can have it for a few days.
Great video bud
I have a closet full of cameras and don't use 99% of them. But I like knowing that they are here. lol if I gave you a list, you'd feel just fine. Great vid!
No shame! As long as those cameras are safe and sound I'm in full support!
Miss those days, jumping off the playhouse backward and then running it backward so it looked like we were jumping real high!
Good times man!
@KylersFilm S/o to the creepy house! If you know, you know.
which camera did you use for panoramics?
All the photos are taken on the same camera.
I bought the Pentax 17 and really enjoy shooting with it. The cost difference is defintely there: developing a role of film and scanning it costs 15 euro’s regardless full or halfframe. The only thing I need to do is to mention it upfront. So having two roles of 36 would cost me 30 euro and one role of 72 15 euro. That is 15 euro I can put back into my next role of film
That's a good lab to offer scanning for the same price!
@@KylersFilm yes agreed. Only prints get an additional price increase of 20%, but that is really logical in my book
Very cool! 🎉 Enjoy the camera and panos! Cant wait for more
Haha your dog does the same thing mine used to do. He'd cry anytime we stood somewhere too long. Must be an aussie thing haha.
Just Aussie things I guess. While editing the video he becomes very interested in why the dog on the screen is crying haha. He's never in pain, just bored haha!
@@KylersFilm True that! Loved the pics btw, Jake's a real one for providing the Superia 200. Love that stuff!
Fuji makes some great lenses. With a large negative like with my GW690 and GSW690 I get great images that can make large prints and much more portable and faster than my 4x5. Panoramic kit would be interesting to try out some day. It probably needs some masks made for viewfinder to aid composing. That would save costs in film compared to cropping 6x9 images. I think film cost is about 10-15€ per roll and developing similar. I develop myself at fraction of the cost. It is not that difficult, even for slide films. (and extremely cheap and simple for b&w).
Ok I FINALLY got my polaroid film back + was given the green light to share since it was a maternity shoot. ua-cam.com/video/c6uXzDHzqHU/v-deo.html
thank you for sharing this filmstock! i like the results, keep it up! :D
Thanks, will do!
13:15 has such a nice punchy contrast! Nice shots man!
Man, these photos were wonderful! You've got a great pair of eyes! Happy to say I'm your 410th sub ;)
