Farmertec G660 pro ported vs. Husqvarna 385xp ported Bulletproof saws
It's hard to beat the power to weight ratio of the G366. It's a great fire wood saw.
You may ramble but your giving information that some folks would consider common but for those of us who are learning need. I, personally, appreciate it. Lol
@@benjineeringtoday8233 thanks man....
Hey Scott we don't tell what we put in that can....lol that's brake and parts cleaner for future reference We don't want Karen pissin on our parade "EPA"
@@kevinz763 good point... They'll outlaw spray cans next..lol.. they did a bang up job on fuel can spouts .....
I have a farmer tech 660 I've rebuilt several times as it's just a hobby. I have a mmws cylinder on it at the moment that I've cut down to get the squish right. I'd like a good big bore kit for it if I can find one that don't free port. if you have one let me know please
@@matthewknight5641 I have a few mmws sitting on shelf.. I'll get to them eventually.. right now I'm into a batch of hyway GX that doesn't Freeport. Not sure what I have left... And next batch will be a toss up that I'll find out when I see them...lol
Hey Scott, bought my first clone last year, a G660, and waiting on my G372 to arrive this week. Discovered your channel while researching how to fix the 660 chain tensioner (brass tubing on the way). Just wanted to say thanks for providing such a great resource for the clone saw...best one I've found so far for parts & repair advice.
@@Biscuit1225 appreciate that. Trying to do more as it seems like folks dig it.
Hi Scott, I have 7 clone saws personally, and every one with the brown farmertec crank seals failed within the first year of use. The farmertec brown seals get hard and wear so that the lip seal spring starts working through the rubber, thus you now have an air leak. Now I just replace the crank seals from the start with the Hyway seals and I don't have issues. I will say that the crank shafts on the clones could be a little straighter thus would be easier on crank seals.
@@wayneanderson991 that's wild feedback.. guess I'll keep on w hyway.. I'm seeing FT listing some as viton rubber now, but don't know how/if I can differentiate.. I ordered some and they are just another shade of brown.. I'll throw them in acetone out of curiosity
Im plannin on buyin one.more saw and 2 other chinese clone items before the big increase this year.....id enjoy a 361 for 160 shipped if the other half wont leave me under the truck lol

Shet learn how the air moves in the engine, then port, thats the issue,, ive ported a few, just common sense, ive never ruined one, just grab that foredom like it owes u something so it dont go floppin around were its not supposed too,

@@bulletproofsaws not 100% sure farmertec is still getting cylinders from hanakawa my saw came with one you can tell by the funny looking letter A on the cylinder . I was told that farmertec was getting that model saw from hanakawa witch is really Hehong tooling . Really nice parts but farmertec has really stepped up their game !
When are the "good" G366 carbs back?
Quick question. I purchased a 366 about month and a half ago. Love the saw but have the same issues you were having with yours. Will be running and when I let off in between cuts will sputter out and die. Any suggestions? I have tries adjusting the low end on the carb some. Thanks
I'm one of those guys that ruins lots of cylinders trying to learn porting lol.
@@matthewknight5641 there's not a thing wrong with that. I think any Porter who's done any time in this will tell you the same thing. You try things, you test things. You make mistakes, you have little wins. But doing it on a $30 cylinder isn't such a tragic loss.
@bulletproofsaws and that's exactly why I buy a ton of those 30 dollar cylinders. I've had a few turn out really good but I've ruined an embarrassing amount of them lol. it's just a hobby but I love it
@@matthewknight5641 until you have a dead on repeatable recipe for a saw, the more things you try, the more ones you'll ruin. I think even the best guys in the world, actually, I know the best guys in the world ruin cylinders. It happens.
@bulletproofsaws I have built some that turned out great but it was after several attempts. I love messing with them and kinda like the challenge and just seeing a good improvement but my best ported saws are the ones I got from a professional guy that ports saws all the time.
my big bore ported by Aaron g444 is the meanest saw I ever picked up and my neighbors wrestle to see who gets to stack my firewood when I break out that saw. it's so mean that trees shake when I start it and it's loud but they shake out of fear is what Im a thinking. thanks for making the videos and selling those saws
@@matthewknight5641 I'm thinking you mean Aaron l, And I have to check out more of his work. I think I've seen some cool stuff from him. There's some fantastic porters out there. A bunch of scammers too, but the good guys are really good
@bulletproofsaws yes sir it's that Aaron. he builds a lot of saws for people and I've never seen a person disappointed with anything he's done. he seems to be a stand up guy and does great work.
@matthewknight5641 there are some guys so darn good it's scary.. I'm often impressed by those fellas
Now that I know that there is a clone of my 543 XP I am really curious.
@@lastironcowboy the clone is overall decent but can be fiddly.. But once you get them dialed in I like them quite a bit. The bars they come with are trash. And some have either carb or coil issues. But if you get those straight, those little saws rip nice
@@bulletproofsaws I might have to invest in a couple. Curious to see the numbers on a ported saw. I'll have to look that up
@lastironcowboy I think. Charlie briscoe did some 543s. I'm not positive and I might be confusing him with somebody else. I don't think they're the best platform for porting but they do get some more power out of them. And it's a nice small. Saw. The monkey wrench in that is always going to be the 346 XP. I don't think that's all can be beat
@@bulletproofsaws most of my saws are the two series but I do have a couple of 350s that I plan on learning porting on. Now I'm wondering if there is a cheaper platform to learn from.
I'm going to have to get my brother in law to print off some plates at his work. Keep up the good work.

When will the farmertec g260s be back?
@@ericjohnson9080 I just talked about that a little in a video from this past week. I think it's in the title of the video
When i was there at Farmertec in Summer 2024 he had stacks of 3120 crank cases. And recently he said soon. Im not sure what the hold up is, but its good to get all the testing resolved. It would be bad to release something not perfectly ready to go. Maybe the competition seems to have a few problems? Farmertec made them, 3120, I saw them in pieces but yeah not complete yet. I even bought an original so i can compare when 3120 becomes available. I wont buy another neotec.....ever.

@@ericfore not yet.. Bluesaws just got the first ones and have more questions than answers
Correction.. I will have stock of these in a few weeks
@@bulletproofsaws What do you anticipate them costing?
Stainless is slightly ferrous because it does still contain iron. It's just not as magnetic due to the non-ferrous metals in it. What's the best budget friendly option for a G466 carb. I've been wanting one of those saws.
@@pewsician2388 I agree with you. But I thought for some reason I remember something about good quality. Stainless will have zero magnetism, whereas cheap stainless Will have slight magnetic properties. I think there's tons and tons of cheap stainless on the market, BBQ grills, yeti mugs, etc. All being recycled. So it makes sense to me that we're going to see more stainless, " stainless" In products.
Yep cheap stainless will get surface rust cause of the iron content but the quality stuff no rust no magnetism.
@BentIronBins that's what I thought.. couldn't quite recall clearly.. both the OEM Stihl and the FT have slight magnetism.. what will be interesting is seeing how the polished FT version blues.. it's almost a chrome polish so I HOPE it'll look 8nteresting as it colors.. the Stihl ones look blah...
Sweet
It looks good
Is it going to try turn blue?
@@danonly7 good question.. the OEM ones I have in stainless or whatever the silver actually is all darken . These are far shinier and I don't know if being smooth will change anything with darkening.. has potential to look cool, but I'm real not sure..
Hey man just wondering do all those blue 260s come without anti vibration or did I get a defective one. Great saw but it's killing my hands
@@joereynolds475 lol.. it definitely has antibibe, it's the rubber bushings so it's not springs like on a husky. But it is antivipibe. I'm going to have to start mine today and take notice of the vibration. Just the fact that I've never noticed it before makes me think it's not overly bad. Try running a Stihl 07 0... That'll rattle your feelings out
Any idea when the 372 Italy tech cylinders will be back in stock?
@@kevinz763 should be about 2 to 3 weeks...if it's an emergency I can see what I have set aside for custom builds.
@bulletproofsaws no hurry just want to order a couple whenever they come in they always seem to be out or only 1 in stock lol
Hey do you know of a off the shelf throttle cable actuator mechanism that will work for my mill saw? I know you were doing some saw mill R and D?
@@Guitar_Builder on my dual 660 setup, which I don't use much anymore, I used a break and cable from like a 10-speed bike. Put a tiny hole through the handle and through the trigger. Ran the cable through it. Attach the brake to the mill and that worked perfect for the throttle and actually I had it running two throttles forthe two saws
Fixed my G366 by watching your videos, buying your Hlic 440 carburetor and swapping out parts. Thanks for all the information!
Oh that's cool to hear! I'm glad it worked out. I'm going to do an in-depth video because I got to do another batch of carbs. I was just looking everywhere to wrestle up as many as I could and I think I only came up with six, And that'll only cover my bulletproof orders.. I got to get a bunch more on order pronto
Hey Scott, the first G366 I bought had the same issue but it was at the bottom of the oil tank. That saw did not come from you. Nothing that can't be overcome though, it's just time!
Hi Scott, I have found on my G366(Blue version) that the tank vent can be an issue causing a starvation of fuel and or the pto crank seal. If the crank seals are original just replace, the original ones were junk IMHO.
Hey Wayne, no I knew it wasn't a tank vent. I'm pretty hip to that and could diagnose that in about 2 seconds. I actually just didn't update video on this. But also I'm curious about your experience with the crank seals. For maybe 5 years ago. I did have problems with crank seals from farmer tech, I generally still use highway seals in everything, however, the few things that I have left farmer tech seals in. They seem okay. But you know how that goes. Your mileage may vary
@@bulletproofsaws I find the brown farmer tech seals to be of poor quality. They get hard and wear faster than say the highway seals. I just don't take the chance anymore with the brown seals from farmer tech I just replace them for peace of mind. I see farmer tech has some new seals now(not brown) they may be improved now but I don't know that yet.
@wayneanderson991 yeah they have me chasing my tail on seals. Some are being labeled viton rubber which is great. Some aren't. I get packs from farmer tech occasionally with highway seals in them. Black highway seals. Then the next time it'll be back to farmer tech brown orange. I got some in recently that might be the viton ones, but they're not really labeled like that on the package. Goofy stuff
@@bulletproofsaws When it comes to replacing seals, gaskets and rubber components I try to stay with Taiwan made or OEM parts. This saves time and money in the long run.
@wayneanderson991 I agree. I generally use the highway fuel lines, seals, intake boots all of that stuff. But lately I've been seeing a lot of good luck with the farmer tech stuff. Not saying it's better and not saying I've really tested it out hard myself. But it has been looking a bit better. So I've been couching what I tell people I use highway. I still use highway, however folks are having luck with the farmer tech. I just don't know personally. Well I guess I kind of do know personally cuz I got guys with saws running for us with the stock stuff. Often. I think inconsistency in what you get is the biggest problem
Where did you buy the brass tube and what were the ID and OD dimensions?
@@Cyclegenix I thought I posted details in this thread... I'll make a specific video on it later
@ thank you so much! I tried looking but didn’t find it. I will keep an eye out. Destroyed 2 stihl gear sets in two days with 72” bar :/
@@Cyclegenix yeah it happens.. especially w long bars.. you guys be super careful.. were your OEM ones silver or black. They seem to have changed them
@@bulletproofsaws the OEM ones are black. There is definitely lots of slop on the gear end. So the ring gear end up pushing the pinion out of alignment and then chewing it up.
@Cyclegenix the old OEM are black.. the new OEM ones are silver on the crown gear.. interestingly OEM 660 has enough slip to put a bushing in as well.. I suspect the problematic slop is the thimble the crown sits on. I haven't looked at them in a while
When will these be back in stock? Been looking for one for awhile now.
@@deutscherfischer55 just put up another vid talking about that

Yes🤣🤣🤣
I bought a hippa in place of my 372s hlic..and it seemed to work a bit better...wouldnt say great
Are you able to explain the G366 carburettor upgrade you've mentioned before? You said something about a 40 or 400 ? (Assume series?). But they don't look the same. Do you unscrew the top plates and swap them?
I bought a g372xp the leaked bar oil out the case gasket in the front…I just split it and fixed it
@@Aaron_A_Lynch yea that's what farmertec would tell customer to do.. on something like that we swap the saw out for a new one.. luckily it's not a common thing...
does it then become a test saw for crazy mods?
@@benjineeringtoday8233 it's always been kind of a test. Saw, that I've been going out of my way to abuse and blow up. The only thing I really go back and forth on doing is some Port work on the cylinder. But out of any cylinder that I personally don't want to pour this, is it. It's small with small tiny uppers.
