So they got a permit to mine ?.great ! More jobs ! More $$ for the taxes for roads , etc .USA was built by coal.. Cars the steal in sky scrapers, many more ! New "green" ways just can't do it , cost more and ends up many times causing more harm , more emissions, etc .coal for last 100 years has kept KY, WV , going .places where they shut it down with restrictions , them community are poor , starving, homeless, etc and look on the big scale what's its done .thank god in a year or so we'll be drilling , coal mining, and USA will pick back up and great again in many ways

Just read an article about your activism, you have my full support and respect! I’m excited to see the positive impact that you will have on the community, and anxiously awaiting the imminent demise of the miserable coal industry. My father was born and raised in Anstead, and I spent a lot of time in the area as a child and still spend a lot of time in Fayetteville (though I enjoyed it more prior to the tourism). Hope to meet you someday.

If you don’t like coal mining you can always move to a blue state. West Virginia depends heavily upon its coal industry for energy and our economy. With out coal American would be sitting in the dark. Solar energy will not power the massive energy grid. Friends of coal and West Virginia, Kentucky will mine coal

We need some commentary, I dont understand what you're trying to show except "Coal = Bad". Agreed, unless it's the only way to make a living in that part of the country in which case "no coal = bad". So many people sacrifice their own health to provide for their families because they have no other option, so they make the ultimate sacrifice for those they love. The companies that rape the land, use, abuse and discard the workers are the villeins there, not those trying to make a living the only way they can. it's a double edge sword in that part of the country. One thing for sure, a few people are getting rich and some more politicians getting greased to look the other way and ignore the harm being done to the land and its people. really sad all around.
