Horizon Hobby Sport Cub S Beginners Review 2019
Don't buy until you watch this video!! The Sport Cub S is a great beginners airplane, however your need to know what you need to have a good experience with it. This is my first RC airplane that I bought which cost me $130.

It’s funny to watch rc plane pilots! Because I’m an actual pilot and we say stuff MUCH more differently!
When I bought mine, I didn’t get the manual! 😬 I reached out to the company a few months ago but they still have never gotten back to me! Any idea of what I should do?
@Aviation Dreamers It’s funny you say that, literally about 10 minutes ago I found one online!
My little S2 RTF Sport Cub is getting to the point that it dont wannuh stay airborn after hand launch, & it wont take off from the ground. Elevator works great. maybe just not enough power from the motor to provide the thrust needed for the propeller, i dunno. Any ideas or suggestions??? The radio transmitter & reciever board have already been "pre bound" crom the factory so i didnt havr to go thru that process. Do i, perhaps, need to re-bind everything like youve shown here in the video???
Nice vid! The plane shouldve come with clips for the gear to hold it in place and i recommend you use those so the gears dont go missing.
I deserve more subs Edit: it autocorrect u to I, Sorry😂
Just bought me one, can’t wait to hit the clear blues skies !
Just ordered my first one so my 5 year old son and I can start this hobby together. Thanks for the good info!
Hey John Im Joe Im just new to getting back into RC planes after 25 years and I got this little plane it flys great. I was nervous trying to fly again so I took it out and just took off and it was like riding a bike you never forget. Yeah I landing ok and nothing happen but I would recommend it to anyone myself. Thanks for sharing and I also got the apprentice sts from horizon and got it with the upgrades LAS and GPS mods so Im looking fwd to getting it out very soon and posting some vids. I gave you a sub and like bc we need to support those that love the hobby bud.
I am a beginner and this is my first plane. Love it and hate it, but its teaching me a lot! As far as binding the controller every time the battery is replaced is concerned, this is what I was told by veterans and seems to work really well: with the transmitter off, ensure that the throttle is brought to 0, then turn on the Tx, then attach the battery on the plane, the plane should bind on its own almost immediately! If I understand it right, we should also disconnect the plane's battery first, then turn off the Tx. This will avoid needing to bind it every time!
Can larger batteries 220mAh, 160mAh, 200mAh, 260mAh or faster discharging 30C, 45C, 35C be used in the Sport Cub? What damage will they cause? I have the new S2.
tone mister I wouldn’t. You risk burning out the motor.
Really good overview. I think I'll buy one.
i am thinking of buying this one but i dont know how durable it is anny suggestions
Jesse ! Any airplane you get at this price point is going to be cheap. This airplane is very durable and cheap to get going. I love flying it. However, do not fly it on a windy day.
I know nothing about RC flying but want to give it a try and was zeroing in on this plane. Your tips about better velcro and bringing glue (never even thought of that!) should be very helpful. Do you know if there are cheaper chargers that I could get by with, in case I don't stick with it?
