I played the first one at my friend's house and was like "what is this janky ass weird game?". I proceeded to clear it multiple times once I realized all the mechanics of building up equipment and doing different story lines. Came back and played through 4 recently, then started playing 3. A great series I wish got more love

WotS 2 has the best UI and color pallete that makes it feel the most realistic. But when it comes to gameplay and story, WotS 3 got it all. Damn i could play the game for 4 months straight just to get all the ending and weapons.

Their post-bb games reminded me of way of the samurai

Btw,Megaman Legends series it's mainline series,it takes place in 8XXX, 6000 years after Megaman ZX Advent,Carbons it's mix DNA between Humans and Reploids,which was on Elysium,Elysium it's a giant Laboratory where humans and reploids living and coexist in peace,its Upgraded Moon and it was Megaman X who created that when he rules Neo Arkadia,in fact he take over Jacob project,in Megaman X8 we saw earlier version of Elysium

I didn't get the chance to play these on the OG console But back when PlayStation had PlayStation now and that was the only way I could play games I found way of the samurai and it quickly became one of my favorite game series ever i. Just need more and I wish more people played

Somehow I was always aware of Carmen Sandiego since I was a kid, but you know I never played those early PC geography games. And it wasn't until recently that I got around to playing this game cuz it's like the only one on Console even though it's kind of different from the others. But I remembered it cuz I was making a list of games that are similar to Sly Cooper which there are very few. But yeah despite this game's flaws it's like the closest thing I can find to a Sly Cooper like game because of its mechanics it has the comics it has the same voice actor so when I was playing this I kept referring to the main character as Sly and I was having some fun with it being silly. It's too bad it doesn't control better I feel like it's slippery and heavy. And I kind of wish it ripped off like Cooper Moore keeping everything at night time but I'm happy there's stealth and tightrope walking and all of that so I am enjoying it😅

excellent video, easily my personal favorite dash/legends retrospective i’ve seen. it was great being reminded of specific scenes like the tron fight where she impersonates roll. one thing i often wondered about was whether or not some things got lost in translation between the localizations of the first and second games. mainly due to the fact that juno makes multiple references to both “eden” and “mother.” both of which are never mentioned again in the second game. i may be overthinking it, but i feel it’s likely “eden” was changed to “elysium” and “mother” was changed to “the master” but i could be wrong. it’s been a long time, but i used to play and replay these games over and over again in my youth, and now as an adult just spend time on youtube watching videos about them😂 PS- in the first game there is an item roll can build for you that allows 3 buster parts instead of just 2 late in the game💪🏻

I loved that game especially 3. It was hilarious and kinda scary at times but every choice made you discover new things. The combat could be unforgiving but damn I loved learning new styles.

I grew up playing and still love WoTS (as well as Genji, Kengo series, Ghost of Tsushima, Bushido Blade, etc) so much and am currently developing with gbdk to create a gameboy game in the style of WoTS meets Kengo. It marries my lifelong love of older video games, samurai lore and ancient wisdom.

i hate how people nearly always bring up this franchise because of some of its goofiness rather than the quality of the games

Even the wandering music you have in the background is giving me a nostalgia attack. That 1st entry was the perfect game to play while watching Rurouni Kenshin back in its day.

I absolutely love these games, I was lucky enough to have an old copy of legends one and two that my parents bought back in the 2000's so I was able to play these games growing up and to this day I still replay them every single year just because they are so much fun to playthrough. (Also great video deserves more attention.)

I feel like the structure, of telling a small scale/local story stuffed with choice and consequence, means there's a lot of room to be relatable and goofy in a way that doesn't always come off well in bigger games. I remembered a lot more about these because they encouraged replaying to see what all you could do/what all you missed, and unlocking stuff like playing as an old lady in 3 was exactly my kind of silly bullshit.

is their ANY game even close to this style? the only thing i can think thats remotely similar is fear and hunger 2

The first Way of the Samurai was the only game I know that implemented the concept of time in a semi-openworld game. You can't participate in every events in the world. You make choices and miss out of very important events that might have changed alot of things. The first Way of the Samurai is still one of my favorite games of all time. It is the first game that taught me about choice in life that can change outcomes drastically.

So 3rd installment is the best in the series?
