Coffee Time at the Water's Edge
United States
Приєднався 7 сер 2020
The original purpose of the channel was to educate and encourage the members of Water’s Edge Church here in Virginia Beach. However, we are all about providing the same for our Brothers and Sisters outside our local Church family. As this is supplemental learning for those at Water’s Edge, it should be supplemental to everyone subscribed. So, we would like to encourage you to join a Bible teaching Church, wherever you are from. Members of the Body of Christ should live life together. We love you all and God bless!

How do you advise members to share talents in areas that are already “covered” or to get more involved?
One of the answers is, the person covering an area might be the only person doing the job. And, burnout is a very real thing. The people covering the area of service will always welcome help and relief. Having a rotating pool of people, is a very big help.
Great question. I think most people tend to gravitate to thinking about official ministries or teams within the church (which is certainly “a” way to use your gifts). And for that churches have to be able to communicate volunteer needs well. I doubt this was what the first Christian’s thought. We are told to use our gifts to serve one another (1 Peter 4:10) so I think “another” way is through the network of relationships we develop within the body. As our gifts become evident to one another, we leverage those as needs arise.
Grateful to have you back! My Monday morning coffee time has been lonely! I will be praying for all of the businesses you have going on and decisions to make for gatherings during construction!
God bless you!
Despite what others have stated on the internet, I listened closely to Alistair's comments - they were to an individual not a blanket statement. Romans chapter 5, and verse 20b reads, “But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.” After questioning this person's relationship and if they knew about her stand, etc., grace won.
Remove versus I'm at a Lost for words
I believe talking to someone can help, but I think that, unfortunately, a lot of people don't have any options because the only people they have around them are John MacArthur's. I know there are many who must bear their trouble all alone. Eventually, it seems like God doesn't even hear and you can't even pray any more.
This was mighty fun for me to watch as a Catholic. You guys did a pretty solid job talking about our perspective, definitely could do well to talk with a Priest about what In Persona Christi means, also check out Scott Hahn’s The Fourth Cup. Also I think we Catholics would agree with everything you said about ‘participation’ and ‘communal meal’. That is totally compatible with transubstantiation in our mind.
Isn’t it funny what the algorithm might give you?
Hey, I'm a Catholic. Not sure why this popped up in my feed but thank you for treating this topic with respect. I recommend checking out the video by Joe Heschmeyer: The Bible on the Eucharist. I feel like that one addresses a lot of your concerns. I'll also add that describing the consecration as the priest calling Jesus down from Heaven is like saying that Moses used his staff to call God down from Heaven to part the Red Sea. It gets the hierarchy backwards because the priest is the one following the command of Jesus when he said "do this in remembrance of me". By doing that God brings us back to the crucifixion so that the faithful of the future can fully participate in the one true sacrifice of Jesus in the past. Anyway I hope this video at least clarifies a few points for y'all even if it doesn't fully convince you. I'll link it here but if you don't want to trust a link from a random person on the internet you can search Joe Heschmeyer The Bible on the Eucharist and it'll come up that way as well. God bless, y'all! Thanks for listening. ua-cam.com/video/SjxJ1opS1YA/v-deo.htmlsi=51bfCn6DYg8KXZOC
Another good episode, as a father /husband I'm reminded that scripture tells us to "dwell with our women folk in a knowledgeable way"...so listening to the Christian woman's point of view helps me with that.... Question and answer part 2. Pastors Wives Answering questions from listeners: 1) Encouraging Husband as the spiritual leader 2) Christian dating, is "submission an issue ? 3) Dealing with everyday reality of raising children 4) what could your local church do to support Mother in the midst of child rearing years.
Thanks ladies!
Thank you ladies!
They destroy lives, fact
As usual the problem is not listening to what he said Listen to the talk he gave around the panel he was on These are excuses people use to make allowances for their bad behavior sin Not investigating more makes your talk, adding to the problem Everyone will rush to condemn
Nothing in the lengthy quote we read was taken out of context. I have much love and respect for MacArthur. It’s ok to disagree with him on this issue. Disagreement does not equal condemnation. If you work in ministry you know that this is a major topic of discussion and Christians need to think well about these issues.
Thanks for shedding light on this subject. Very informative and loved the analogy of the glasses. God bless you brothers.
I'm still making my way through the video. But thank you guys for doing this video. I came out from decades of the Macarthur camp. They are very loving and well meaning people. However, they are given to nouthetic counseling. Where "biblical counseling" is biblical, amen. But I have up close and personal well rounded interaction and observational relations with Nouthetic Counseling. The premis of it comes from Jay Adams success with it. Although there can be measures of success in the beauty of raw scriptural meditation and application, Nouthetic Counsel is practiced through a Reformed document called The Westminster Confession where Covententalism overlays its theological persecription on top of the bible. Which, ironically, is a man made document. We might hear of the troubles of secular counseling competiting withh the Word of God. But we don't often hear that "biblical counseling" in the Nouthetic camp sense also relies on man's ideas competing with God. From research i have come to understand that God does afford the experience of counsel to be a product of general revelation (humans helping humans). I believe their is a true sense of measure to "the science of the mind and behavior." To the extent it is not in conflict or competing with God's word, is to the extent i would understand profesional counseling to augment the spiritual nourishment of the word of God. I am not an adherent of the competitve blend such as labeled "Christian Counseling." But I am a proponent of psychology applied where it is helpful general revealtion augment to scritpure. I would also understand where medicine might apply in cases to biological conditions as a real thing. It took me years to come to this kind of awareness because there are a lot of contentions out there. I would see the garden variety views of Macarthur to be neo-fundamentalist views. And can be socially inappropriate machinations of biblical proprotion upon society. Blessings.
Thank you for covering this topic. It was a great comfort to hear that you didn’t agree with McArthur’s comments, which I’m sure many found very hurtful.
I struggled with that too, to be honest we have to say God did not create human being to go to war, or have their brain rattled around, lose arms or legs? Which has an impact on the brain, for functionality, neurological trauma is facts, too many online pastors with no medical certification just "I think" or don't think sentences thrown in, God knows we suffer, have mental demons, many false prophets use these weaknesses, for profit, I read the first bible dont trust onliners, God put good people in the world too, to help and support the weak body 🙏🕊️
If you hold any credibility to 1st Enoch then remember that Enoch was told to seal up the scroll for a much later generation and I believe that we are that generation
the reason for that is because the genetic material, the human genome was not as strong as before the original inception. If you look at the life span since Adam people live less and less and also the first inception was angel/human and the post Noah inception was diluted angel DNA and contaminated human DNA.
Nephilim are not angels, they are the offspring of fallen angels and human woman. The mortal part of them were destroyed in the flood but the Eternal side continued to live and they are what we demons and that is why they seek to possess people because they no longer have bodies
They appeared again because the wives of Noah's sons were not pure
What do you base this on in scripture?
Y'all need to listen to Dr. Michael Heiser. He is a well respected scholar
Sons of G-d and children of G-d are two different things
Bene ha-'Elohim, only used twice in the bible and both are referred to as angels.
It was not rejected by the Jew's. They just didn't consider it as part of the Tora, but they never disqualified it's accuracy.
Not just the Torah. The entire Hebrew Bible excluded it.
Please Consider Enoch / Hanok, Also, Books were Found Among Dead Sea Scrolls, Book of Yubilies, Yasher,Yahudith, Maqqabim
Hypocrisy...... They out up and promote who they want.... How do you think Trump got into Office.... One Guess
24:08 It was Enoch who did the petitioning.
Although I see more and more video's and other information about Enoch1, almost no one talks about the fact our realm is exactly as described in Enoch1. Enoch1 described perfectly the paths of the sun and moon via the 6 tracks in the far east and west and also from the other luminaries. Circles and balls do not have corners, nor winddirections. Balls do not even have ends and edges either. Squares have it all...
Enoch is a great book. It's part of my canon as is Jubilees, 2 Esdras and 2 Baruch and many others. Tried and tested. John 14:15-16 do that it includes the Sabbath and believing the 1st commandment and not trying to make YAH into a trinity you'll receive the Spirit of Truth , you'll know what's truth or not then.
Enoch1 is still part of the Ethiopian bible. The first book of Enoch is the oldest book known to mankind, probably even older than 6000 years, much older than the oldest bible and nowhere in Enoch1 was the name of Jesus Christ mentioned, nor a Messiah. Neither were eclipses mentioned. All eclipses, sun and moon, are manmade. They are too chaotic to be natural. The sky should stay blue during a solar eclipse and it was new moon during the last solar eclipse. There was no moon to see before or after the eclipse.
@@peterstuifzand5522 The Son of man standing before TMH was Yahusha his son. Proverbs 30:4 Father and Son. Enoch was for us if you read the 1st few verses. There's no mention of Jesus Christ till RCC started too and even at that it's not speaking about the person that spoke the red letters. John 5:43 foretold us. Before that no Jew, Jerusalem or Jesus. 1000 years are added to his story. There is no proof for Jesus Christ as a Living man, nor a son of god. No one is gonna save us this way. All kinds of reLIEgions have figures like Jesus too. This is called syncretism. Enoch described "the spirit of the sun/son of the lawd/lord.
12 hours are missing from the Atlantic ocean and added to the PACific ocean so that 2 landmasses could be hide, Atlantis in between Cuba, North Africa and Europe and Lemuria next to South America in the fake Pacific ocean. Wow that is really amazing how you submitted to your husband and trusted the Lord about the chiropractor situation. ❤️❤️ thank you for that testimony. It’s great to hear specific situations because they really speak to our lives more specifically
I’m not married yet but I appreciate this conversation. There’s a lot of wisdom that I took away from this. Thank you both ❤
I’m sorry guys, but to keep this discussion going amounts to gossip in my mind. Please stop persecuting Gods pastor and servant.
Please stop spreading this terrible topic! Pastor Begg is by far my favorite pastor on utube. He is genuine and humble! I understand completely why he said what he said. I’m 73 and have been a Christian for a very long time. I have a granddaughter who is gay and we have actually had a few very heated discussions on this topic. She is married to a woman according to the law of the land but not of course in the eyes of our God and Savior. However, I treat her with the same love I treat all my family because she is my blood. Like us all, she is a sinner. We are all sinners to one degree or another. Each of us is tempted in different ways. But you can’t argue a person out of homosexuality, you can only love them and pray Jesus will wash them clean and forgive their sins! Isn’t that what we all need. Even as Born Again Christians we sin everyday. Forgiveness and love is our hope! Loving the person yet hating the sin. Pastor Begg did Nothing Wrong!!
We listened while driving down from Connecticut and were blessed. Having a healthy respect for powerful things is helpful concept in everyday life....running a table saw, welding, using firearms or driving a car are all things that are useful and good but require an attitude of healthy respect, how much more having a proper reverence and respect for "The God in whose hand your breath is..."
Hello 🤗 You channel was on my feed page and I’m so glad I came across this. Do you have any advice for us new Christians who just came in the faith with a family already? ☺️ I have an 11 year old and a 5 year old boy. Any help and advice is welcome! 🩷
This was absolutely incredible. THANK YOU!! First time listener from a sister in Christ in Ireland. My little one is 15 months ❤️ thank you so so much God bless you both and may He continue to guide you on your own journeys of motherhood and family life ❤️
Ah thank you so much for listening from across the ocean! Always wanted to visit Ireland! Blessings to you, mama ❤️
I loved this ☺️ Also, I appreciated Rodney’s well-placed “hallelujah” 🤣
Should elders not be relatives?
Are you talking about blood/biological relatives? The biblical requirements for elders are found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
He was NEVER cancelled as you noted. So shut the fkup
What are the outcomes?
Where in the Bible does it tell us on how to treat people who r homosexuals. It’s hard to believe that there is no one who hasn’t run into this issue at work, or even ur own family.
In general we are to respect all human beings as image bearers of God. However, we are also not to be approvers of sin.
Have anyone of u ever attended the wedding of someone who was divorced and remarried. If u have u r hypocrites, and r guilty of the same sin ur accusing Alistair of committing. You should repent.
Love this one guys! Great work
I cancelled him too
We are to hold marriage in high honor. Then why are so many Christians getting divorced. Jesus also said that if we look at a woman lustfully we have committed adultery. We often ignore our small transgressions but I believe Jesus is telling us that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Thank Jesus for what he did on the cross because there is no other way I can enter heaven.
Placing judgement is a sin.
You have to add context to your statement: 1 Corinthians 5:12 - “For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge?”
Great conversation! I admit I like the emphasis on traditional values, but find it odd that it became trendy on social media.
I would never attend a wedding of someone who has divorced their spouse and is remarrying someone else and thus committing adultery whilst their spouse is still living... The Lord condemned this and applies it to "any man" saved or unsaved!
