Surfing Workout | Swim Exercise | Improve Paddling and Lung Capacity
Use this swimming drill that translate directly to your surfing.

      Hi there! Yes, I've had this blue band for over 8 years, and it's been fantastic. It comes with a protective cover that extends its durability, and the length is perfect for exercises like simulating surf strokes. The brand is FitnessMad, and I highly recommend it for its quality and reliability. You can easily find it on Amazon or Proswimwear, both of which ship to many countries. About Selection: The right band depends on your fitness level and the purpose of your workout. Blue (Medium Resistance): Offers moderate resistance, ideal for challenging muscles during strength training and toning. I personally use this one to simulate surfing strokes for a more targeted workout. Green (Light Resistance): Provides gentle resistance, making it a great choice for warming up before a surf session or any workout. It's also excellent for injury prevention, maintaining mobility, and keeping joints strong and healthy, particularly in the shoulders and elbows. Hope that helps! 🏄

      Hi, do you do that for a specific amount of reps and sets? Or just as long as possible like you would in the water?

      @Oswood1010 Hey there! You can add that to a set of exercises, like in a circuit with 2-3 other exercises for example and do 30 seconds each exercise and then rest after complete all of them. The Surfing Circuit - paddling to catch the wave, pop up and ride the wave, so here is a good one to try: 1. 30 sec of resistance band paddling (the one in this video) 2. 30 sec of push ups (try to keep the hands in the same position as you would in your own surfboard) 3. 30 sec of squats Rest 1’00 and repeat 3 to 4 times this set! Have fun 🤙

    Care to share the reasoning behind the choices of exercise?

      Hi there! The first exercise work on your breathing, endurance, pace. It can increase lung capacity, training your lungs to handle a longer period without air, improving endurance and breath control, which we need while surfing, specially during wipeouts, it can help you to handle it better. The second exercise works on muscles used for pop-up in the surfboard, mainly your chest. This in combination with the Strong Crawl, would be to simulate both action in surfing, paddling strong to catch a wave and pop-up to ride it. Hope that clarifies! 🏄
