This seems like a way to keep people who choose not to go to college from buying stocks. Buying enough into a company to become on the board of directors should not be dependent on education. Because now you are unfairly discriminating against people who decide not to go to college. And also you're inflating colleges by basically forcing anybody who wants to own a significant amount of stock in publicly traded company to go to college for a specific class which is going to artificially inflate the price. Making it harder for people who don't have a lot of money and want to go into the cyber security field too actually be able to do so. As demand is going to be significantly higher. And due to that it seems unconstitutional to me because it is restricting free trade which is unconstitutional. The other way it can be construed is it is gatekeeping board of director positions. You buy a significant amount into a company you decide you want to be on the board of directors the board of directors can just be like sorry you didn't go to college for cyber security therefore you can't join us. Which means you're barring upwards mobility in the social economic ladder. So it could be construed as a way to keep lower classes out of being part of the elite While yes I do like the idea of people being on boards of directors of companies having knowledge in the fields of those companies, Mandating such knowledge presents many ethical and legal questions.
