Hi everyone! Welcome to my UA-cam Channel "On The Go With Flo". I am just an everyday person who loves to do videos of whatever I come across that interests me. So, I have done everything from cemetery visits to famous graves and common people, to just simple events with my family. I am not a professional, just someone that loves to capture life's moments on film. As a little bit of background, I was born in Chicago the 22nd of 23 children that my birthmother had. My birthfather also had 10 other children before meeting my mom, so I am actually one of 33 children! Some of us are full siblings and some are half, but we are all still brothers and sisters. I have recently retired and really had a desire to start a UA-cam channel. It's been a learning curve, but I am up to the task! I hope you will follow along and enjoy these moments with me. I am so happy to have you here!!
Sweet Pea's First Vet Visit Since Moving South Thursday 10/3/24
This morning, I took Sweet Pea to her first vet visit down here since we moved in January. She was 9 & 1/2 lbs. when I took her to my old vet last year and today, she was 11 lbs. I'm pretty positive that she put on weight from not having a dog park on the property that I could take her to like I used to at my old place. She got her heartworm shot that's good for a year and also a heartworm test, which was negative. I prepaid for a fecal test that I will bring a sample in for later ( you know how that goes 😅 ). Her rabies shot isn't due until next year because I get her the 3 year shot. The doctor said she doesn't really need the flu shot because she's not normally around a lot of other dogs. She had her wellness exam, and the doctor said she is very healthy. She could also see, though, that she has a lot of anxiety. I told her that my old vet put her on 100 MG of Trazodone for anxiety that I'm supposed to give her 1/2 tablet every 4-6 hours but that it no longer seems to be working as well as it once was. So, she gave me a different prescription for her. It's called Amitriptyline which I'm supposed to give to her once a day. I will start her fresh on it tomorrow. She said if I want to, I can still give her the Trazodone at night and the new pill in the morning, just not all together at the same time. The vet said that I won't be able to see any results of this new drug for about 30 days. I sure hope it works because I really don't want to have to give her something even stronger. I have said this before, but the vet said today that it's like she has ADHD. I totally agree. She's extremely smart, but her anxiety goes through the roof, especially if I take her outside, even for a simple walk. I asked the vet for Simparica, but they carry a different flea and tick medication. I can't remember the name of it, but I'm going back later to pick up a supply when I bring her fecal sample in. I wanted to get some while I was there with Sweet Pea, but she was out of control when she saw other dogs that came in. She wouldn't stop barking, and I couldn't hear a thing the girl at the counter was telling me, so that's when I said that I would just come back later without her. Anyway, that's the most current update on Sweet Pea. My biggest thing is that I hope this new medication for her anxiety works. I told the vet that if it doesn't, then she's going to have to prescribe me anxiety medication instead 😂 ... Oh, I also had them trim her nails because her grooming appointment is a couple of weeks away, and she really needed them done.
Edit: I was just able to go back to the Vets office and pick up the flea & tick medication. It's called Bravecto, and I really like it because I only have to give Sweet Pea one pill every three months. With Simparica, it was once a month. Congrats on the new Buc-ee's! Can't wait to check it out. It will probably open before the one in Wisconsin.
Groundbreaking is supposed to start in early 2025 and it will take about 18 months to build. So it won't be opening until about summer or even Fall of 2026. I'm just amazed that as long as I stay where I'm at It will only be a little more then 3 minutes away from me. Who would have thought?! Lol. I'm really excited about it though!!

This is cool i used to live there for a couple years,,right down the street from there! the Green river isnt far from there. we used to go fishing there. i seen the house they lived in when i was there, actually Eddie was born down there. his mom has family still there. there was an old slave prison by rochester damn also. i worked at Central City Produce when i lived there. This was awesome Flo thank you for taking me back!

Done that route many times. It is so amazing how close KY/TN is to Illinois, but still such a long drive to Chicago. You feel like you're close to home, but still so far.

worst place to work bucees, there is a reason all the now hiring signs are kept up. Have fun working at a place that doesnt have a break room, doesn't respect its employees or trust them, or even allow trucks that bring them gas to park in the parking lot. and also isnt it odd that there is no gas price out at the road . There is a reason they have a low star review from employees
