Listening to YK Live 2008 made me thinking that it is hard for Japanese singers to articulate English well. The best English singer between 4 Uta-Hime would be Kaori, imo. But several years ago, I found Hiroyuki Sawano live version and found out almost all his singers could articulate English lyrics amazingly well! 👏 And so, finding Joelle and let her leading most of YK English songs would be a great choice! With an addition of her supreme singing technique and unique interpretation. Always love her take on "In the land of twilight, Under the moon" - it was always such a melancholic song back then, but when she sang cheerfully 23:57, just realise that the lyrics is full of "singing... dancing..." - a joyous song, which affected other singers especially Keiko to be cheerful as well 🎉

of all the songs, I personally love vanity, liminality, canta per me, salva nos, and zodiacal sign. The epic choreography of zodiacal sign even kids can learn (haha). The addition of Joelle in FictionJunction really adds variety and clarity in singing English songs. Yuriko Kaida's headtones are really insane, only she can do that. Keiko's part in vanity really hits me, she's a very vital part of the vocals. Kaori never fails us with her charms and vocals. and Kajiura-san is a genius. and the instrumentalists they are all gifted, especially the violinist, Hitoshi Konno.

There was a time when I listened to this video multiple times a week, usually during work or gaming. I found some other music for a while, but now I'm back. It's like sinking into a warm bath every time!

UPDATE 8/24 9:13pm Same issue of being unable to interact with windows persists, notably after closing any game on Steam. Still occasionally having the m&k issues, most often after launching games as well, but compared to this it's nothing. Went several hours with no issues, then when I try to play something it occurs again. Also noticing screen flickering black randomly, and some network issues (which might just be due to shitty internet, I need to look into that/an ethernet cable). Esentially unable to play online matches on Guilty Gear Strive without being disconnected, and also experiencing some big lag spikes on Discord that cut out sound for a few secs.

UPDATE 8/24 1:07pm Issue has VERY largely decreased in frequency. However, now I have a more consistent issue where I cannot interact with other programs. If I am tabbed in to Discord, I am able to use Alt + Tab to switch to another program, but cannot type or click. This is stupid.

UPDATE 8/24 10:50am Un-installed Wallpaper Engine and disabled all startup apps. Issues are no longer present for the moment, but I fully expect them to return when I open any program.

There's an interaction I like between both their voices that needs more composition from Kajiura. I'm waiting for a duet just for them. And the next verse has Yuriko doing higher harmony and Keiko/ Kaori doing lower. 12:09 You hear the brightness and audible words in her more range. Enunciation! 12:22 again here. 12:41 liked this 12:50 That slight minor dissonance from Yuriko in the harmony line. ❤❤❤ 14:04 The grit/distortion on the word "silent" was sweet and not something I hear from Joelle a lot.
