A self-care day in the gloomy fall weather // fall vlog, getting vulnerable, skincare routine
With the weather being so gloomy and dark, I figured it was a good day for a self-care vlog. Hair masks, facemasks, skin care, under-eye patches, and reading and journaling for a little bit of mental wellbeing. I also get a little vulnerable with you guys and talk about my struggles with acne and how that relates to my self-esteem especially as I'm exiting my teenage years and becoming an adult. I hope you enjoyed this video and I'll see you (hopefully) next week!

We're slowly losing summer and I'm dreading it... the colder days mean winter is coming... I'm doing my best to hold onto what's left of summer this year. I've had a super eventful season and I'm hoping this winter is similarly awesome, even if I'm going to dislike the cold weather. This vlog is just a little snapshot of the last few days in my life recently, hope you enjoyed :) EQUIPMENT - Cam...

In this video, I tried to get a little more real with you guys. You'll find this is one of the longest vlogs I've posted in a while, and that's because I put a big focus on just talking to the camera. Some of my favourite UA-camrs/Vloggers are the people who just set up the camera and talk while doing everyday tasks. I really wanted to capture that feel in my own videos and kind of replicate it...

Hi! Thanks for this information! Did you have to get a visa and what was the language barrier like while volunteering there?
visas will be country specific. In my case, I did not need one for the length of time/things I was doing there, but if you're not Canadian you should check with your countries regulations regarding South Korean travel. The language barrier was super manageable. Most of the time the people there spoke and understood English really well, and when we didn't understand things we used a translation app to fill the gaps so it worked out :)
thank you for the motivation! <3
:)
I really sympathize with your acne struggle! Maybe some of the new lush products from the new job (which seems to align with when your acne started acting up??) is giving you an allergic reaction or clogging your pores. Also, not sure if you’ve ever tried this, but diet can be a huge factor in acne. When I cut down on animal products (no fatty/greasy meats, no eggs, no dairy), sugar drinks, and artificial sweeteners, my acne improved A LOT. Even for hormonal acne, foods and ingredients can be hormone disruptors or even just clogging our liver and we cant digest the fatty and sugary toxins properly so it’s expressed through our skin. Maybe you started eating something back at home that you weren’t in BC that spiked it? Wishing you luck <3 !!!
Thanks for the advice! Yeah I've heard diet is a big part of it, I'm thinking sugar has a lot to do with my acne flair ups right now so I'm gonna try and consume less of that. I thought it might've been the Lush products too but it had been acting up before that so I pretty much ruled that out :)
It's so brave from your part opening about your acné struggles and how it makes you feel <3 Eggs don't always go with cheese 🤪
Love it! Lush products rock
Love the foliage shots when you were outside with Kaitlyn and when you showed us outside your window <3 I don't enjoy halloween or pumpkin spice either, but i'm 100% a sucker for leaves changing colour, the temperature drop, hot beverages, etc. 🍂 ☕
I've always been an Iced beverages girl, but the fall weather does call for the occasional hot chocolate or tea :)
Oh no, and I thought that the 5am job that I used to have was too early! What kind of job are you doing at 4am (if you don't mind me asking)? 😅
I work AM Merchandising at Costco!
your room looks so pretty! <3
@@cherrycloudies awe thank you!!!
Happened the same in bf's day, all my Instagram feed was full of those kind of posts 😂
Nice
Btw, your friend is back! I forgot her name, but her appearance in your road trip video was awesome Bring her back to more videos if possible 🤭
Hey Quinn, I just realized you are close to 1K subs!! Better prepare something special for that milestone 🤪
Your flight was cancelled because Calgary had the worst hailstorm in it's history, causing a billion $ in damages and literally collapsing the roof of the airport, not because WestJet 'felt like it'. Not to mention all the planes that were damaged from the hail which were literally unsafe to fly, and are costing the airlines millions. I'm a customer service agent (with a different airline) at YYC, I wish people had more grace and realise there are human beings behind all of this, and working non-stop to help people. There were literally thousands of people who were affected that day and rebooking them on the next day or two days sometimes just isn't possible because there are enough empty seats on other flights or aircraft sitting around to put people on
@@trishat9335 I mention this more than once throughout the video that I understood that it wasn’t actually any individuals persons fault. I was more just frustrated with the practices as a whole from WJ. I’m not mad at the individuals who work within the company, I know it’s not them. I’ve worked in a similar industry, so I know the feeling of being berated for something that isn’t actually your fault. However, I’m definitely allowed to feel my feelings regarding the matter (as long as i don’t take it out on anyone, which i did not). I’m new to travel, I’m 18 with not an abundance of disposable income to be using with no end date in sight, and to be honest was a little scared, and I was hitting every roadblock imaginable with absolutely 0 communication. I never blamed anyone individually, and I was nothing but gracious to those who DID help at the end. (I still never actually figured out what happened to my second flight, i’m assuming it was due to damages? it wasn’t weather the 2nd time around. Maybe you know why and can clear that up for me) but I think you misunderstood my general frustration and fear with it being an attack on the people, which it wasn’t. I appreciate you giving your insight on it, another perspective is always needed in situations like these
You should sue WJ in court. Many people have won their cases through the courts lately. Make them pay back for your expenses and court costs.
Dang!! That sounds like a super rough time. I remember hearing about how parts of the airport were literally falling apart because of the sudden hailstorm but i didn't know it was that bad. I think i actually remember this storm since other surrounding towns were also affected by it. I remember hearing that a bunch of flights were grounded too. Also that's really messed up that Westjet didn't bother to try and compensate for anything. The fact there were probably hundreds if not thousands of people all dealing with similar situations it's messed up that Westjet didn't try to compensate at all. (I ended up reading up more and seeing if there's any policy for people to get compensated when bad weather is involved and it's messed up that airlines can get away with putting people in limbo like this. ) Also i've been getting more travel videos and flight reviews being recommended to me, and seeing as this one involved a city and airport near me I was curious to see for sure! Also EDIT: Stephanie came in clutch!!
Many of westjets planes got damaged as this is the hub of Westjet so for weeks following they had to cancel flights due to planes now needing maintenance. I dont believe they have to compensate you for flight cancelled or delayed by weather. Its more of a if your airline is nice they will. Westjet changed in the last few years and has gotten more greedy including the strike not too long ago.
Yeah it was a bit unfortunate overall. I never did find out why my second flight got cancelled... Probably plane damages? It just kind of sucked to have to pay so much out of pocket :( I was really hoping they'd compensate...
PD: I'm taking a flight in two weeks, i've now unlocked a new fear 💀
nonono I just have bad luck youll be fine I promise!
Bruh, i can't tell if the craziest part was you sharing seats with McKenna Grace, the hail, ceiling falling down at the airport, your flight being cancelled multiple times, WestJet's poor management or you becoming friends with a girl that ended up setting up a room for the both of you. Crazy crazy video, this has been one of my favourites hahaha (hope you are feeling better now <3)
yeah it was a bit of a wild ride lol
I’m in Calgary no Detroit lol not even the same country
yeah as you can see I was a little sleep deprived by that point lol
Wow! Crazy on so many levels!
right?!?!
Omg, Quinn, the ceiling falling down at the airport!!
I know!!! my next video will be crazy lol
Wow, keep up the good work
Rating restrooms through America, my new favourite series 🤣 Glad you are back!!
It comes as no surprise that the best bathrooms on the trip were at Loves Truck Stops. I’ve driven from Toronto to Los Angeles and back 4 times over the past 5 years and I quickly realized that Loves is the best and made a point of stopping there every time. As far as hotels go, Holiday Inn Express has always been a winner in my books. It was fun watching you two on this adventure, and I wish you all the best with your endeavours on the west coast! ✌🏼
Omg girl it looks awesome!!
Omg..... you're my favorite UA-camr!!! Thanks so much for inspiring me to read!!🎉❤

Picking a school is definitly hard, it might sound basic but you have so much time, you are so young still. Most of my friends are internationals and moved to my country to got to my school, it is such an experience to go and live abroad, I personally think it is so worth it, even if you go to school back home you can still do your internship somewhere else or a semester etc. nomatter what choice you make it might not end or go the ay you planned anyways, I've also taken a gap semester because it felt right, I did a gap year before that and I'd never have the experiences that made me grow if I didn't. At 18 I asumed my path would be straight, get my degree, get a job, get a house. Now I'm 27 and getting another degree, traveling to Berlin every month because of my BF and the friends I made there during my internship, surounded myself with friends who inspire me to follow my own path and not feel like I'm "behind". also get the license and just dont drive lol. My mom got hers at 60, first in our fam, I didn't try to learn cuz I didn't need it but now I'm deep in my 20's and don't have the time to take classes but I can see that it is good to have in the future, especially when I'm moving to Berlin soon I should be able to drive my stuff there but nope I'll prob need others to do it for me.
Wow this was honestly so insightful. Thank you for taking the time to share this with me. I totally agree with you, and yes I'm still working toward getting my license even though I don't want it (I just went driving today haha). I'm gonna keep what you said in mind, it's very helpful :)
Thank you for this great video! You really motivated me to be productive on my Saturday💗 I understand that's a really hard decision. I currently had to make a decision. I live in Germany so in school we have to choose between a main focus/ classes for the last three years of school. I made my decision where I would be more comfortable with my classmates and learn more about myself. Both options are great and I think you will be happy either way!🍀
Thank you so much! I know it can be hard to make those choices sometimes!! Im proud of you! 🤍
I love you for not having the clean girl aesthetic! Because I don't have it neither. And thank you for this motivating video💗I maybe also should get something done..
yessss see you get it! Glad you enjoyed the video <3
I'm glad your videos are finally back!!
me too! I have lots of stuff planned for the upcoming months!!
welcome home !! glad you had safe travels. very nice chill video
Thank you! Yes safe travels indeed I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
Could I ask if you have time to make a video about your travel experience to South Korea like where you stayed, where you went, how long you stayed and also if you already knew your roommates or met them there? Maybe also the prices of things if you feel comfortable enough you talk about that? I’d like to go travelling to Asia especially South Korea so I’m curious about other people’s experiences there, loved your videos and glad you had a lovely time in South Korea☺️
That's an amazing idea! I will definitely make a video on this. Stay tuned :)
Aww, looks like you had alot of fun! And the food at the end! haha
it really was an amazing time! The food was amazing oh my gosh I'll miss it
Best of luck on your travels. I was so close to visiting Asia one point myself. I had experience with modeling and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity to visit Asia...Great channel!
wooow that would've been amazing! South Korea truly was amazing!
Ma’am used Proper travel backpack. It’s going to change your travel experience❤ It’s easy to get one point to another. And organise your bag with those packing cubes.
I used a duffel bag as my carry-on... never again lol. I truly need to upgrade my travel stuff haha
