    Great lesson! What equipment are you using to get that tone?

    • @evertonzaquini
      @evertonzaquini 6 місяців тому

      I'm not a 100% sure how I recorded it over 2 years and I used to do some tests to record, but I believe I plugged the guitar in the audio interface (SSL 2+) and emulate the whole tone in garage band. On garage band I like to use a Marshall type amp for drive tones, stacking some drive and fuzz pedals. In this video the main distortion is the fuzz pedal to get more that Hendrix distortion tone.

    Muito bom Everton, parabéns pela aula! Mas do conhecimento das escalas a fazer um improviso no nível que vc fez, existe uma estrada meio longa... :)

    • @evertonzaquini
      @evertonzaquini 7 місяців тому

      Muito obrigado Elias!!! Com certeza a aplicação das escalas no improviso é bem diferente de saber elas isoladamente. Uma dica de ouro para a aplicação das escalas, é aprender licks e frases delas e aplicar no improviso. Por exemplo, se tem uma frase em uma escala que voce gostou em um solo/improviso, aprende essa frase/lick e usa ela no mesmo contexto. Pode ser na mesma música, ou em outra música que tem a mesma idéia ou acorde. Dessa forma você irá ampliar o vocabulário e aplicar as escalas mais facilmente sem ficar no sobe e desce : )

    isn't it a Gmaj7? in the original records i mean.

    • @evertonzaquini
      @evertonzaquini 8 місяців тому

      It really depends on the version. The BB King version from 1969, you're right, it's a Gmaj7 or just the G triad. But in other versions like with Eric Clapton or Tracy Chapman, it's the G7(bVI7). Now, if you're in a blues jam, it's probably going to be the bVI7 chord as this will be the minor blues standard progression, so it's a bit safer to think with the G7 as it might be the chord in jams or in backing tracks 🎸

    Hi, is it g major pentatonic scale or e minor? And everywhere i find that is e major. What the guitar theory is with that song?? I improvise like its gmajor..usually blues are minor but this goes completely with gmajor scale. Im really confused!!

    • @evertonzaquini
      @evertonzaquini 10 місяців тому

      Hi Dimitri. This song's key is E and its main riff is on E mixolydian. As in many classic rock songs, it's used what we can call "blues intention", so basically you play the minor blues scale of that key. In this case, you can use the E minor blues scale to improvise and this is the easiest one (this scale is relative to G major and there's a video about relatives in the channel). This is also the first scale I showed in the video. From that, you'll have more options to use such as the E major blues scale, E Mixolydian and so on. Those scales are the following ones in the video. I hope this helps you : )

      The whole song^

    • @evertonzaquini
      @evertonzaquini 7 місяців тому

      @@kasoncole4511 Thanks for your comment : ) Actually, there are changes in the chord progression during the song. On the bridges right before the solos it's A - B - D, then the solos the progression is E - D/F#(could be F#5) - D. A good way to hear this progression is by listening to the bass line that plays the notes E-f#-D, and that's a reason that F# can be interpreted as D/F# or F#5 as it doesn't have another instrument playing the harmony. The other song's parts are just E7#9 - G- A..
