It doesn't matter how many times I've watched this performance is still sends shivers down my spine all this time later.. this is so very sad that we did not get to see him perform this version of the joker in further movies...

Something my brother learned from being a man in charge is that you have to be willing to get down in the muck and do the thing you would have them do. He was working with his team and chose to wade in up to his chest in crud to fix this one particular thing while they worked around him, and no one ever gave him any lip when he asked them to do something after that. He'd also take over their spot for a few minutes to give them an extra break if the conditions called for it. If you take care of your people and everyone does their job, you won't have many issues.

Hands-down, my favorite character was Hershel. He was compassionate and decent but wasn't afraid to do what needed to be done to protect his family. He represented what I would say, an excellent example of true masculinity: Kind and compassionate toward his family and those who showed they were decent, but willing to protect the ones he loved against anyone who threatened them. As the series progressed, I started seeing Hershel as an older version of Rick.
