a lesson in lens and ISO I wanted to test the camera in a low light scenario...it was very cloudy outside but the lights through the windows were looking very cool so I thought lets shoot it. And see how it looks in the edit....Remember its all about the edit so shooting for the edit is the trick here.

Testing some lens setups... since i am not too technical I try to play around with the lens in different times of the day and the angles of the sunlight...this is best when trying to see which works best. Of course early mornings or early evenings work best... I think my ISO was between 100 and 260 ... some shots it seemed too bright as i did not have any ND filters ... Music by Tyler Brown Wil...
Focus Pulling by Smallrig F40 ( shot on the Blackmagic cinema 4k )

If you want to keep your setup small and inside minimum control, then this device is the best as its closest to the lens, fast to install and quick to use Wireless focus is also good but useful when you have someone to help you or if you have a Rig setup where batteries are mounted to help power the whole thing including the focus unit I often think simple is best. Once you have a crew on set t...

@@mylifepart2 yes very much
This doe not work after the project has been rendred.
sorry what do you mean ? - the compound clip as is - does render out when you are wrapping up your movie or file as the case maybe ...
@@mylifepart2 Tried to reverse compounding of a clip AFTER the project was rendered. Did not work as described in video. I have since learned of a way to do it. Right click on compound clip and hit "open in timeline"
i see - thank y for sharing that point...i have never had the need to do that part once rendered it was done for me but its nice to know for future projects i m working on...thank you for sharing here...
thanks so much...
y r welcome - do let me know if there is anything else so as i make new videos i can also add your questions of thoughts etc...once again thnk you
Thank you!
You're welcome!
...when i rewatch some of my videos...like this one....wow i wish i saw videos like this when i was starting out...coz its important to kinda explain why something is needed becoz most of us are not from the film world..so many little things..we just dont know about.... video editing is story telling but its also many parts coming together to act like one part...so its nice to know the little things becoz each of us...edit in our own unique way... thats what makes it so much fun...
👍🏻
A Sailor Progear...😍 fantastic pen!!
The best!
@@mylifepart2 MF nib?
i think so...it writes pretty sharp ( a little scratch on some paper stock ) ...i have another one...which is a much bolder nib..i use that for signatures or when i need to write more thickly...this one is more for daily writing...
many people i know...dont use fountain pens...i wonder why...its such a beautiful writing experience...many with gadgets...no one really writes anymore...i am thankful to my teachers who forced us to write with such pens...and it has been a lifelong pleasure....
Ver useful
thx y
i have a lot more short DR videos coming up...check it out as its all meant for little things that will help y edit more with ease - thank you for visiting and subbing etc...appreciate it...
So you!!
thanks a lot
So glad to be of some help...enjoy
So the red ink is not red?
It is..but there was a little black left so that was mixed in...later it became pure red ...like in the video
This video was absolutely terrible.
I m so sorry to hear that...will work better...thank you
Nice lens
Glad y still will get a cage it is better
Enormously helpful, thanks.
glad it was of good help to you...once i found it...it made my timeline and pacing so much nicer and in contrl...it saved me so much stress i was having in the edit...espcially when its too many little clips here and there....thnks
Nice...food was delicious..views incredible
So nice....
Perfect, Thank You!!!
awesome thank you for visiting...i hv more workflow vids...might help ....mighty thanks ...for the support...
I love Parker blue, can never get tired of trying out different blues, Parker blue will always be in my repertoire. I came to your video here from a link you left on "Onemorepen". I would love to try Montblanc Royal blue some time. I love your desk set up, i also enjoy everything being neat and the ritual of filling the pen and writing on a fresh sheet ov paper or new journal. Thanks for sharing your experience. From Derry, Northern Ireland UK 🇬🇧
the blues are beautiful...y are correct...many shades of blue can get you going...i keep using the royal blue...it shines so beautifully after a few days...the faded vintage look is very attractive...I m trying some Japanese inks recently...but its not like the Montblanc ...my nibs tend to scratch over the paper...not sure i like that although i have heard that the scratchy feel is considered classic..old regal feel....any thoughts on that.... ...Ink Pen and writing is such a lost art I feel...every sunday its my morning ritual...pen and inking....gosh i have done this for more than 20 years i think....perfect sunday morning....i hope you are enjoying yourself too...cheers...thank you for visiting...and your comments...appreciate it.
Perfect, Thank You!!!!!
thank you if there is something else you wanna know - let me know and i will continue making videos that are directly helpful...thank you again...
@@mylifepart2 Thank you for your response and your offer. There is indeed something I would like to see videos on from you. As I am a beginner, I would really appreciate learning about color grading in Davinci Resolve. For example, how to correct overexposed windows in a room. Also, the new features on the Color Page in version 19 for beginners and how to use them correctly would be great. Anything in this direction would make me very happy and be very helpful. I look forward to your new videos on Davinci and I want to say thanks in advance.😄👍🏻😄
noted...colour is such a huge area to get into...i too am just dipping my toes into this section recently...i m making a video on basic so y might find it useful...i m still editing it...but here i can tell you....make three nodes....and the first node should be white colour balance...after that everything will work out even with less grading knowledge... btw version 19 i hear has many new tools that are designed to help people like you and me...who are very new to colour....i still havent downloaded it yet...i have some projects in the pipeline so i didnt want to risk any hiccups...lol...
Do you have an IG or email I can reach out to you with a few questions?
you can ask the questions here if y like / i would be glad to help....

yes my street has become so noisy...its just not possible to focus ... so this is cool place to be...little noisy but still peaceful ...
Super clear and great explanation...
Thank you..hope it helped y in your workflow..also remember this helps vit video pacing...so your timing stays as intended.. cheers...

I add the opening quote in my James Bond commentary is from Jack London american writer in the year 1917... Read by the M character in the movie No time to Die...my version of it...
But after you decompose for whatever reason to make a change inside that compound clip, how do you go back to that compound clip that you already had (which might have had speed and color changes to it, etc.)?
I think....I think...that once y make any adjustments...the clip becomes a NEW compound clip becoz it now has new things modified...but your question is a good one..I too want to know this so will check it out further myself...normally I do all my work and then compound it...this way the clip doesn't get further modified...
@@mylifepart2 Right click and choose "open in timeline," then make any changes, then double click the timeline 1 tab at lower left. 👍🏻
" beautiful....wow thx YOU !!! .....thank you for sharing this...so cool of you....
@@spearcy Thanks a ton I was really gonna give up bcuz of all the times I would have had to decompose, adjust things, then make a new compound clip all over again only to realize that I need to make additional changes and redo that entire process again. I was stuck in this loop for a while but your tip is a hack, thanks!!!!
the compound clip is not meant for you to do many things AFTER you compound it...i only use it as a clean up thing so that i dont accidentally move things around and mess up my timing or pacing of a timeline...i am sure there IS a way to retain adjustments made but what i do understand is that - everytime you make a NEW adjustment - then the compound clip changes to become ANOTHER compound clip but NOT the same one from before...it wont make sence that way...what you can do is to DUPLICATE the compound clip and then mess about...so IF any mistake then you can revert back to the original one you made...so y dont have to feel all is lost....hope this thinking of mine if of help...let me know...I too am learning from everyone...thanks...
Nice
Thanks
Thanks for introducing me to the Clutch camera strap by Peak Designs. I love your videos thanks again.
yes a beautiful strap - very comfy to wear didnt feel the camera weight at all..easy to handle for hand held work...it was a little pricey at $40 but still worth it i think...they also have the smaller version but i think for smaller weight camera it works i think...thank you for your kind words...appreciate it of course...
Thanks again for well explained and detailed video about the Blackmagic Pocket 4k. I'm so very proud of you.
thank you thank you ... its a very cool camera sure...but lots to learn before i could really bring out its true form...that is cinema stuff...
Totally missed this video!! Congrats on the camera. 🙌🏾🙌🏾

the stuff i have...at least this one...and my speed editor...i waiting for a few years...till i got it...how exciting that we can make content and enjoy the story process...once upon a time...this was only for those who were in Film...now anyone can learn and do...how wonderful that is...such a blessing... these are things i am not suppose to have...$$$ but god is great...last night i woke up and saw the camera...i still couldnt believe it...the blackmagic...is with me...and all those lens...now i am focused on making content worthy of the gear in my hands... i did look at the sony...a beauty...but i wanted to go with the one who brought me to the dance...blackmagic...

you should get the dji pocket 3
i DID see it in the store...it was there..sitting all along behind the glass lol....but i m saving up slowly for the FX3 or blackmagic...but i did hear good things about the Pocket 3...its small...easy to break apparently...the top gimbal part if you not careful..they even have a hard case you snap on when not in use..to save the gimbal part from wrecking i think....
@@mylifepart2 i have pocket 2 for years and no problem. anything can break if you drop it several times, ive dropped mine a few times no problem. you can get warranty. i also have canon r6ii full frame, but i prefer pocket 3 very much, image quality is close and gimbal makes it better for vlogging type videos. it would be the best for you considering i know the type of person you are and the videos you make.
@@truthseeker6804 the R6 is a beautiful camera...that too full frame is wicked...i might get the pocket 3 for my wife coz she keeps eyeing my ZV1 lol....
