Those superscope kids’ books are strange! They generally came as a book and audio cassette tape set. I still have a few of them from when I was a kid. what a great project! it’s a great way to step out of your comfort zone and be creative in a grungy style. she will love it! 🤎🖤🩶🩷

@woolaminajunkjournals Sorry to hear you’re still not feeling 100 percent 😢Not quite moved in, well I’m in but not my stuff, basically camping inside my home, first I had to have a driveway poured and it takes 30 days to cure so my first of 3 pods will arrive Sept 25th Second the drywallers did not float the ceiling correctly so it all has to be redone 😢so that’s gonna be a mess living through but alas I will make it through and hopefully be back up and running shortly ❤

Lovely haul! The Childcraft books were so wonderful. I always wanted these books, but I always had access to them in the library instead. As you were flipping through the story time and poems one, I spotted a favorite poems, “Sea Fever” by John Masefield. Do kids still know about poetry? I’ll have to ask my grandkids! Hope your moving has gone well. ❤

This was fun! A thrifter I follow calls the woman in red on the Vogue needle book “Sewing Susan.” She says she is “that” woman who mocks other women who can’t sew as well as she can. 🤣 This was a time capsule! Christine was a homemaker. Her husband’s name was Jim, and they had a son (iron-on knee patches). She made clothes (bazillion buttons, scraps of trim, tailor’s chalk) and curtains (curtain and drapery hoops). This box was a sweet find. 🥰

i have done the festooning before, but never the ruffling. i have done rosettes before, but pleating and glueing as i go. the thread ruffling makes poof-ier rosettes, so i’ll give it a try. thank you! 💙🪡🧵

Hi there, miss pcg! I had never heard of the masterboard concept until I saw your short about it. You’d better believe I went right to the long form video. This technique is so cool, and interests me from a paper crafting and a fabric hoarding perspective. I love how you use the fabric with stamps and cancellation marks on it. Postage stamp images and actual postage stamps are one of my favorite design elements. can’t wait to try this masterboard technique myself! 🪡🧵💙

"Beauty School Dropout" made me smile -- who didn't watch "Grease" 50 times?? lol... i checked thriftbooks for the "collage" book and it's almost 20$ so you probably got a good deal on that:) i'm jealous of the flashcard find!! ;) so cool....the Girl Scout handbook was waaaayyyy after i was in scouts and slightly before i was a leader, it looks really interesting!! Good morning Joann. We have a connection! Back in the mid 70s my sister went to cosmetology school and she often needed a guinea pig.....her little sister (we had 9 years between us) was always a willing model however I was too young to be her model for her state boards. She ended up buying the beauty shop across the parking lot from the school and they moved it into their own building and hired my Mom to be the receptionist. She sold the business a few years later as they moved to WA and she no longer wanted to be a cosmetologist. She always did my hair for years and she was so good at it. She is now retired and has done so many different jobs but the most interesting was in the parole system. Isn't that crazy from hair to the courts! Great haul! I love your stories!

Hi Johnna! Sorry I missed this live but loved catching you on the rerun! If you are not feeling it with the kitchen journals, maybe set two aside for you to work on another time and sell the rest? I think we all go through the moody creating. I have a time out corner for the journals or items that frustrate me or I am not in the mood to work on. Some sit there longer than others but I recently got that corner kind of cleared out. Go me! You have a ton going on so as Angela says, give yourself some grace ok? Hugs!

I had the same Charlie Brown book and record combo/same story! Have you heard the recording?? I LOVED watching 3-2-1 Contact! It came on PBS after Sesame Street and Mister Rogers when I was a preschooler. It scared me sometimes, though -- ha! Thanks for sharing the rest of your haul! Fun stuff!

Those butterflies look like they're made out of feedsack fabric! Maybe? :) Lovely haul! When I saw those stacks of bed linens in the video walk through I said "Oh please tell me she dug through that!" You did! :) Looks just as crowded as the one I went to last weekend!
