    Dark souls is such a masterpiece for all of these reasons. The narrative and the mechanics work perfectly and they actually feel important to life. This is the most empowering fantsy I have ever experienced

    How in the world are you supposed to know to look in the Bell of Awakening church after rescuing that woman in the Tomb of Giants?

    • @anonecki
      @anonecki 3 дні тому

      She's on the main thoroughfare between Firelink Shrine and Andre's tower, so it's not unlikely for a player to find her there randomly. That, and it makes a fair bit of sense for a holy woman to be found in a church

    modern FROMSOFT adventure games that are better than Mid Souls 1-3: • Demon’s Souls • Bloodborne • Sekiro • Elden Ring (despite it playing like Dark Souls 4) You won’t truly be woken up to reality until the Bloodborne and Demon’s Souls PC ports. Enjoy the Unfinished Trilogy in the meantime, you just dont know any better

    i just really love this game, all its world is bizarre outworld experience that no other souls could give me, all details that it have and the experience that is walking through its world is amazing, btw i was so shocked the first time i saw laurentius hollow that i just let him kill me

    It boggles my mind how Miyazaki and Fromsoft made such deep and rich level lore and put it into game that's under 10 GB. This game needs to be studied 💯

    Laurentius' story also reveals the players own selfishness. As in the final quote you played of his, he gave you a piece of his soul. You then promptly, and without second thought, transform it into a flame of twisted chaos, all because it promised more power.

    Oof the blaring p3r music at 2:30 contrasting w the dark souls footage along w your quiet recording really just took me out of this video. Good content but the presentation got botched there

    The King's Field music from 4:00 to 7:00 is awesome! From the youtube videos I've watched, I concluded the KF series was probably too obtuse and dated for me to really get into.. I never thought to check out the soundtracks. Maybe this part, at least, I can appreciate well and good.

    I do a playthough every year and your video came along right after I beat the game with my new character. I’ve played this title so much, and yet every time I go back in I get entranced all over again. I’ve easily played almost 200 hours of this game and I still discover new things on every run. One of the most addicting and masterful games ever made.

    From DS2 on Fromsoft got lost in their own sauce making the stories and world designs too esoteric and metaphysical. DS1, even more than DeS, gives a grounded feeling of really trudging through the corpse of a great civilization to rule over what's left.

    Watching this video at 360p really made the production feel contemporary to release, a nice touch on the video. Especially in the little touches, like the use of the wikidot as footage of the wiki as opposed to fextralife

    Hey, thank you, its a great video and it awasers things I was wondering about those 2 npcs. I thought I did something wrong so they got mad. First time dark souls player. And yes, I did go fight those skeletons a few dozen times and wondering if that the famous dark souls difficulty people are talking about lol.

    For me nothing beats the feelings ds1 draws out, not ds2 or ds3, and definetly not elden ring. But i could never put a finger on it, why was it special? Now i think it's the attention to detail without showing it off. It's sort of like Tolkien writing, behind every item description there is a whole bunch of connections to other things in the world, some written some unwritten, some published and some just in the mind of an artist or in his letters, and you can deduce some of them, but you dont have to, you can just enjoy the feeling of a rich world with mysteries around every corner while you explore on your adventure. The world is like a forest and you are treading a narrow trail through it, and the fact that people still come out with original takes on it to this day proves my point.
