As a little boy, I would read "Nora's freezin' on the trolley" and laugh and laugh while showing it to my mom. Her name was Nora, and I thought it meant her.

Nice voice, but the life is dragged out of the piece by such lax conducting. No sweeping emotion or motion at all. Very dull.

Just came across this - frankly by all accounts a well done version, with surprises like the four soloists singing with the choir to the very end. However, acoustics are dreadful - almost as if someone recorded on their phone. I wonder if there's a bona fide recording somewhere?

O.K. Those of you who were at the original first time Camp Mather Strawbundian appearance of Richard have etched in their brains this song. It was the encore of a very enthusiastic set. It was an instant hit of the entire festival. Imagine the entire audience singing the refrain in harmony after having just heard it for the first time..endlessly.. after Richard had left the stage. Poor Dallas Dobro, our M.C., trying to stop us, but failing utterly. We kept singing it as we slowly exited the music meadow towards our respective campgrounds. It took little prompting for us to break into it en masse at any time ever after. Years later, it's now our touchstone of the festival; a very treasured, fond memory. One guy, one guitar. Thanks Richard.
