I'd imagine that the Recruit Groot would taste very oak-ie, and therefore bad. So I'm leaning towards an IPA as I have never had one that tasted remotely bearable. (And tree flavored doesn't sound all that appealing.) As far as the Recruit mechanic goes it feels like something that was requested by the players, ignored for 17 sets, and then finally slapped on by a design team that had very little time to actually text it out. The SR Starfire also feels overpowered to the point where it's the only reason you make a Teen Titans team. I'm personally okay with having additional segments that do not have much of anything to do with Dice Masters. After all, the IP has been abandoned so you will eventually have talked about everything you can talk about with a game that has nothing going on.

Great game. The Paladin can be tricky to play, but when he works he works.

Arena Accessories? Battlegrounds? Card Player's Collectable Play Pieces? Dealer's Decorations? Yeah, that Black Luster Soldier that bolsters Fist characters has actually been a fairly steady card in rotation for my teams. It started on my tournament team, got forgotten about for almost a decade before being moved to a dedicated Fist team. The only thing that team is missing is SR Miles Morales from Secret Wars that does the same boosting ability as my +1/+1 to Fist characters Venom. But it's interesting to hear Yu-Gi-Oh was the first set designed. There's a lot of... Cards that want to feel overpowered? (Like most games' first sets.) Fun Fact (that may or may not be true) but those two flip X-Men promos are the only non Batman affiliated flip cards in the game. I think. (I could easily verify that information, but I'd rather be wrong and spark conversation than preemptively correct the information and be left without content.) But yeah, some promos are difficult to find.... Anywhere but eBay. But sometimes you get lucky with price or availability. But I'll tell you about a promo that I will probably never find in person or even on eBay. Rigorous Training: Sidekick Card All Sidekicks get +1 Defense. Apparently, there was a special sidekick night at 'some' local game stores. I guess this was a first place prize, cause the only info I can find of it is an article about it or its entry in the team builder site. I hope the World's End tournament went well for you guys and, once again, thanks for providing me more Dice Masters content than WizKids.

I think the same basic suggestion for deck building still applies for the World's End tournament: Find your win condition, then build around it. Just, find a card that strikes your fancy. Then, use the team builder to show you all the cards that meet the affiliation and universe requirements for the team build. Technically, my Energizing X-Men team would work because instead of using the Commissioner Gordon to reduce fielding costs Im using the promo Flip Wolverine card.

I, too, was fortunate enough to get in my first Dice Masters game since at least 2015. It was technically three games against two players, but only one was played to completion. But, one player definitely seemed interested enough to play again. So, here's hoping that I see them a second time. (It was basically demonstration games. Two of them were using my Deadpool team Vs. my Action Dice team, the last game was the player using my 40k Ork team Vs. my Mono Bolt team.) Unfortunately, I do not technology. I do not webcam, I do not laptop, and I do not PlayStation, X-Box, or otherwise Computer. So I wish the best of luck to those who join you in your tournament, At World's End. Now. Go forth and conquer, my children. For this world is in need of being forged into something greater. And, as always, thank you for providing me with more Dice Masters content than WizKids.

Well, if you truly must know my Dice Masters history. I pretty much discovered it at the start. Grabbed the Uncanny X-Men starter and pretty much fell in love. Went back to the store and grabbed everything I could the next week where they got the Avengers Vs. X-Men starter and gravity feed where I netted my first super rare, Scarlet Witch: Controls Probability. A few of my friends had also heard of it and we started a minor league that only lasted about a month before they started to lose interest due to Dice Masters' first problem: Product rollout. The comic store was having an impossible time getting product in stock, never able to get more than a single case of Uncanny X-Men in and even then, about once a month. By the time the Yu-Gi-Oh! set rolled out I permanently lost half of my play buddies. And with Yu-Gi-Oh! came Dice Masters' second problem: Set language. It's simple enough, though still annoying, to know that when a Yu-Gi-Oh! card says monster, they mean character. But then you add in the next set featuring Dungeons and Dragons where there is an actual Monster affiliation.... And I lost just about all my play buddies. They couldn't get their hands on the product, and even if they did they no longer understood how the game was supposed to interact with itself. Soon enough, I had to move to another state and I did so with two booster boxes of Justice League under my arms only to find the game didn't exist anywhere. The few people that had heard of it scoffed at the thought of trying to sell it. I was still driving back and forth between my new address and my old DnD group, which also shared some of my Dice Masters buddies. But, their love for the dice died. And with the stores having a difficult time both with obtaining and selling the product, they gave up entirely. It really wasn't until post Pandemic that I found out I missed out on... 42 set codes. (Wether it was a campaign box, booster set, or team pack.) Ever since it's been a long hard road of building up my collection and I am proud to say that I have built 15 teams... That I will most likely never play. I don't think I'm going to ever break any of those teams down, even if I do find out the hard way how bad that team is. But, hey, getting your butt handed to you in a game of cards and dice is part of the fun. Once again, thank you for providing me with more Dice Masters content than WizKids is.

Hey wait, I'm one of four people listening to this podcast. Again, I'm thankful for any Dice Masters content. It really sucks to love this game in 2015, thinking it just vanished into the ether from negligence only to discover in '22 that it died and came back several times only to finally die again... Possibly for the last time. So you two are actually covering a wide swath of game mechanics and sets that I'm still trying to discover and collect.

Great setup! You were right about the Alpha Flight cards in the end. It refers to each characters specific special Alpha Flight cards. Starjammers in season 3 do the same, and maybe some others, can't remember off hand.

What s the pt of this???

I really like drafting in Lorcana. It's really jump. Sealed can be fun too sometimes depending on what you pull. There's also starter deck events where everyone gets a starter deck to play and we have a tournament for it. Starter deck tournaments should only use the starter deck within that set otherwise you get different power levels in each of the sets since they were mainly geared for that particular set. Set 1 didn't have locations so there wasn't a way to remove with a card or you needed like 2-3 characters to kill a location (depending on the location health)

I saw only a couple very minor inconsequential issues with combats, but ultimately, this mission should have ended as soon as Doc Ock went down. The game is a Loss at the end of any game round in which a Zombie Hero has been eliminated, or when a Mission-specific losing condition is met.

1:09:36 I am a little confused by the assertion that this space is a dead end...there is a bridge from it to an unoccupied space on the in the left hand Island or did I miss a card you are using in this era that disqualifies that bridge? 1:27;26 You returned a letter disk instead of the white Neighbourhood disk on discovering that you could play on the white Neighbourhood without inviting competition. Otherwise, good bit of proxy fun. Cheers.

I feel like dice throne is not just battle Yahtzee but it's like magic with a premade deck. Dice masters is actually mtg but with dominion tossed in.

I would definitely say that dice throne is way more accessible to a beginner player

When I say that Lorcana is very much like Dice masters is mainly the fact that you have spend your energy and what to spend it like. Turn 1,2,3,4 purchase order. Using energy correctly to spend on things. Albeit that Dice Masters is also very much RNG, and Lorcana is different than Dice Masters due to the dice but I wasn't thinking of that, I was thinking of more gameplay wise. However I do find it that Lorcana is also rng too especially when it comes to getting all hands of uninkables when you only have so little uninkables lol. Lorcana anyone can win or get really close to it depending on how they draw too. I've seen this a lot. Also Dice Masters didn't have a chase card or something like Alt Art cards that goes for 1k-3k and people had a chance of getting them but then again it's a 10 year old game. Probably since It was a different time back then and changing multiple models made it difficult as well. I love these series! It's great to see different games coming out. I know that Dice Masters really helped shaped me up in playing Lorcana.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but cm00007 actually lost this game. 1. Huntress should have been doing +2 damage on every attack. That would have done an extra 10-12 long before the last round and killed Samurai. 2. Bleed does not go away after one round. A Bleed token stays on until you roll a 5 or 6 during an upkeep phase. 3. The Huntress decides whether Nyra takes the damage at the end of all the damage calculations, not at the beginning. The Huntress is never locked into who takes the damage and can always change the target or whether to split with a Bond. 4. The Huntress choosing who to send damage to does not preclude the attacker from playing an attack modifer. But then Huntress can change her mind about who takes the damage. 5. You can absolutely modify 1 die with Twice as Wild, you don't even have to fake modify a second one. Hope that helps people watching the video.

Lorcana has the best gameplay. Its very easy to understand to pick up. I find it very much like Dice Masters. Some enchanteds are worth like over 500+ USD and only 1 that is worth over 800 USD currently. But that could change when/if they print more Chapter 1 cards.

Great podcast as usual. My embarrassing yoga story. Back in the early 2000’s I did yoga at lunchtime. I was lucky a colleague at my company was a qualified instructor and ran lunchtime sessions for those interested. So myself and my friend Tony went to them. Boy did doing yoga make us windy. There was one particular session where we had no control over the loud fart noises we made as we were stretching and going into the next position. Instead of controlling our breathing we were cracking up with laughter. I hope they weren’t smelly as I had no idea having no sense of smell. But it felt like what we did that day would be classed as using chemical weapons. On a Dicemasters front, have you created a cube yet and drafted it? I definitely would recommend using a dark draft if just two players drafting. Works great with a cube.

Good luck with the Yoga, Jocelyn. But only do it if you enjoy it! I've found that I sometimes do things and feel obligated to do things that really aren't for me in the end. But my time is precious these days to waste it on anything I don't truly enjoy doing.

Love this game. I need more of it added to my collection.
