And that is why it may have two portages on that whole section! I only managed to do the upper part once - probably also in 2016. We normally only put in after the portage. No Asco this spring as the level was too low or too high.

Very nice video. I have also been travelling with the kayak in Albania and Montenegro. Is pretty agile for an inflatable boat.

Please note that the video does not show the last siphon and the portage, which can come as quite a surprise. I advise anybody to paddle this river with a guide or at least somebody who knows the river very well.

Even last year when I went looking for such a lengthy description of the Verdon Gorge, I could not fin one, that is why I published my own movie of our trip from last summer: ua-cam.com/video/Jy5716sfDLc/v-deo.html It is also interesting to see how it is (at least in part) possible to chose a different route here and there. The carnage at "La mulinette" or "Le Niagara" as it's called in Verdegen's book was quite educating, as so far I only heard horror stories of what could happen.
