I have also heard it said that a silent mosque is a mosque with no future. There are events at the masjid when a nursery would be a best option. But for regular operations its good for children to be present. There is no penalty if a parent has to leave to attend to a child. Prayer with child is not impossible.

Alhamdullilah my masjid has separate mother's and a children's room. Parents can pray and see their kids. During Ramadan we have a legit nursery where parents drop off the children at the school on the premises and go pray in masjid, a different building. The nursery still has audio and video of the masalah/minbar. So volunteers can still pray and listen to lectures. InShaAllaah sisters and families who need this in their masjid gets it. It does make things so much easier and enjoyable
