I think the mage was toxic because the hunter made a sub-optimal decision. The mage was thinking "I'll pull that 2nd mob off that hunter since low level hunters can't really deal with 2 mobs at once, Oh fck this guy he tagged both mobs so i won't get my kill if i help him". The better thing to do when a respawn happens is to kite backwards on the first mob and see if the mage pulls the untagged mob off you. Unless the mobs don't respawn fast, Then it's valid to be greedy for mob tags, So long as you're not pulling things casters are trying to cast for.
