This simple yet nifty little game is running on the Commodore 64 maxi.
The purpose of this video is to show off a random game from a long ago time with the intention of inspiring others to pull out their retro machines or fire up a modern day emulator to relive these great classics .
I am using a c64 Maxi from Retro Games Ltd to play this. Also called THEC64
I make these videos to bring awareness to an era of computing long gone now. I hope by watching this you might be inspired to pull out your old computer or fire up an emulator or play on any one of the numerous online options that exist for these retro games.

TrumpCard 500 for the Commodore Amiga - Reference Video
Переглядів 1194 місяці тому
Another reference video for anyone wanting to compare their TrumpCard to one with all the pieces attached. This unit can be powered by the Amiga 500 itself or via an external power supply. Simply move the jumper to make the selection. Not a very entertaining video but maybe it will help someone out trying to compare a unit they have that appears to be missing something.

Looks like Atari 2600 Bowling. Can you move the ball while it's going down the lane?
Doesn’t seem to have a guided ball option
the Aspect ratio of your display should be 4:3 for it to look accurate..
True…
A useful reference as you say! It seems that most enthusiasts from North America are unaware of Acorn computers. Which is ironic considering that everyone of them has one. ARM processors that power almost all smartphones and many other devices, smart speakers, car entertainment systems etc. are the direct descendants of the first ARM device, a co-processor for the Acorn/BBC microcomputer made by Acorn RISC Machines Ltd (ARM). Later to feature in the Acorn Archimedes series. (And rebranded Advanced RISC Machines when Apple invested/took over.) The Raspberry Pi naming convention of Model A and Model B references the BBC Micro Model A/B. The BBC Micro:bit is another "reboot" of the tradition of public computer literacy programmes in the UK. I do love my C64 which I bought in 1983 and still have. But Acorn is the the Master (perhaps a UK only in-joke!)
Very true. I bought this one at a boot sale near London. Great little machine. I need to find the expansion stuff to go with it though.
is it possible to boot into it?
You mean without it starting up in the carousel? If so - I’ve not try that yet.
Anyone gotten an Ethernet or wifi card for the Android parts to use?
Now that would be cool…
Snap. Excellent game. Robust and excellent joystick.
Brings back memories as a kid playing with Commodore 64 games and the "awesome" graphics at the time... Games like these were great back then.
Absolutely brilliant tips, thanks so much.
Glad you found them useful
Love the calculator! Now you just need a typewriter!
Yeah that would be a cool addition to the setup
Pumpensploogin
Thanks cuz I was thinking of getting one
What a great video. Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Thanks - I've never seen the VIC-20 version before, but loved this on my 64. I only recently learned it was released for the Apple ][ first, in 1982... had previously thought the 64 was /the/ original; it looks so good there.
It is a classic!
My MPS 803 works perfectly ......❤
Amazing how robust these old printers are after so many years
Damn that 1200 is clean. Very nice.
Thanks man, this was really helpful for testing my dads Amiga 1200.
Glad I could help
650$ in the 90s and dead on arrival mustve been super disappointing im so glad i was born when tech wasnt as prone to failure but i missed out on so much stuff i like now i bought myself 2 amigas recently and am enjoying them (though both are post 2010) and im looking at finding myself a 500 to go with my apple 2e
Yeah it was a bummer to get a dead one. But the next one lasted a loooong time before the hard drive died. Overall I love my Amigas. Fun little computers
I’ve got an A500 w/ a PiStorm running emu68/CaffeineOS. I am wanting to put something in that edge connector to complete the look. I’d love to find one of these!
Put a BlueSCSI in there?
Someday, someone will thank you for this LOL.
my favorite was 7 Cities of Gold. Never played jumpman.
Hey if you've got the latest firmware updated there is a way for switching the "ports" for connected joystick I believe it is holding menu button you press A or B (for second port)
Yeah that is a handy shortcut to switching joysticks. Use it a good bit
I love all the machines I can see in this video!
Me too…
Did you manage to fix the keyboard issue? If it's the same as the 800xl, the keys have a conductive silicone that bridges 2 points on the pcb per key. Could simply be dirt. Assuming the pcb is clean and not damaged, it could be the cable that connects the pcb to the main board. They are very delicate. Years ago i salvaged a completely wrecked 800xl, etched a new pcb for the keyboard that converted it into a PC keyboard. If it's your pcb, you could probably get a new one printed by PCB Way. I think they are quite simple layout. Wish it was as easy years ago because etching a PCB in acid is messy 😂
I haven’t yet. I plan to take a look fairly soon and see what is going on in there
At least it got the gist of the theme song right LOL
Ghost busters was pretty good in that as well.
Thanks for sharing. Looks pretty tough.
Yeah it was, but overall a fun game once you get used to the controls. Cheers
HD disks don't tend to last on the Amiga. They can suffer from cross talk.
So far I’ve had pretty good luck with these.
Hah. The keyboard shortcuts are really good to know. Thanks. I was afraid I'd have to fidget with that cjm format to get it to work. Thanks
Can't you kill the sensor if you drive IS sensitive to HD disks?
I’ve never had it happen
Wow, it seems Biker Dave is a copy of an older game that was on the Prinztronic 5000. A very strange console my Dad had in the early 80's. I actually loved that game when I was little. 😄 Nice video, thanks, and kudos for having the patience in this day and age!
Thanks
My mom still complains about how we made her read these to us so we could type it in. Also my dad had a "boggle" game he sold on tape and sent them via mail order.
Oh man, me and my friend used to spend HOURS typing in those old programs only to discover that it didn't work! This was usually because one of us typed something wrong, but about 10% of the time it was Compute's fault and they would print a correct the following month. Some pretty great programs and games here and there over the years. Two that stand out were "Doodle", which was a fairly comprehensive art program with some impressive features for the day, though it only supported monochrome graphics (no multicolor mode); and "Turbo Tape" which was a utility to save your programs in a special format on tape so that it would load about 5 times faster than normal (close to disc drive speed in fact). It could load fast on any C64, even one that did not have Turbo Tape running on it, which I thought was very clever.
My dad and mom made a few of these which to this day are on deskets. I was fortunate enough to read them and put them on my PC. :) now I can enjoy them via emulation.
I love the cart edition
Is there only one level?
Yeah, pretty much
Hunting for typos either in your own typing or in the magazine listing was often more fun than the resulting game. For the amount of code this one is pretty impressive.
I loved that game on NES
Get good boomer
I’m generation-x but thanks just the same.
One of the first video games that I played as a kid. I loved it. Awesome game. This port is much better than the C64 version.
what kind im mumbo jumbo ia that "you can¨t us HD disks on an amiga" the 4000 is born with a HD drive and i have a HD drive internalky in my amiga 500 its been ther since 1989 and works fine with 1.76 mb disks wich is the amiga format of HD disks
The Amiga 4000 was at the very end of Commodore and very few people had those. The bulk of the Amiga computers that were sold were double sided double density disk drives with an 880 K format.
A wonderful, admirable DESK for a vintage setup.
I hate that my c16 is dead. Looks so cool. Thanks for posting 🎉
Hopefully you can get you C16 going again. Fine little machines
@@yaggieboat Or just use an emulator like Yape ;-)
I'm very surprised, an 8-bit computer from the early 80s that does not boot into Microsoft Basic.
Believe it or not, Microsoft created a version of BASIC! 😁 v1 from 1979 has the niftier packaging...
shout out to that intellisense mouse
LOL that things has been going for years…. It just won’t die
@@yaggieboat One of the best ever made
I do love the VIC-20. Thanks for showing it off.
Much love for the Vic-20
Play the J version for joystick usage.
Ahhh, the sound of that printer reeling out my school assignments. Shocking character set without descending tails, but all that was rectified once I received GEOS with it's WYSIWYG feature. Next printer was a Commodore MP1230 which was another league.
Yeah... I love hearing that old sound of it printing again. Many sheets of paper went thru my original printer back in the 80's .....
It says you're running wb3.0, ehat commodities are you using to get that minimizing gagdet on the window?
That is a WHDload image which gives it that look and feel. I have an SD card in my A1200 acting as if it were an IDE hard drive.
I was sold a c16 with no chips. One day I’ll be gaming like you. Ty for this retro hit
With ironically a game of 2010
You will love it when you get there… these little machines are nothing short of works of art, including the Commodore 16 .
Looks like a great option to play c64 on modern screens, it has loads of options for playing games, great video mate👍👍
